Chapter 337: Jirachi: Wish Maker (5)
Ash's group hurried along, and three days after setting off, they finally caught up with the Absol and Ash's Jirachi that had left earlier.
After meeting up, Ash had the wild Jirachi communicate with Absol, asking it to take his own Jirachi and cooperate to play out the rest of the charade.
After understanding the role it had to Role Play, Absol set off again with Ash's Jirachi.
As for Ash's side, they deliberately stayed for another half day before setting off again.
After all, Absol had left first; if Butler saw Absol with them, heaven knows what absurd things that madman Butler might do.
Ash also anticipated that Butler would tamper with the place where Jirachi sleeps, so just in case, he specifically had Goh follow along.
Goh could trigger a Z-Move on its own, and that kick was incredibly powerful, so with Goh looking after his Jirachi, Ash felt much more at ease.
After setting off again and traveling for another day, the group finally arrived at Faunce.
The wild Pokémon in Faunce, as if sensing Jirachi's return, appeared in droves on both sides of the path.
The wild Jirachi hiding in Ash's backpack also became restless after smelling the scent of the land of Faunce.
"Jirachi, it is not the time yet, bear with it a little longer," Ash comforted.
"Okay, Ash!"
After spending a few days together, the wild Jirachi had developed a great sense of reliance on Ash.
Led by Dian, Ash's group arrived at the place where Jirachi sleeps.
Absol, hiding in the forest near the sleeping grounds, saw Ash and the others walk in, then feigned exhaustion and led Ash's Jirachi into the cave.
Following them were Flygon and Tropius.
High in the air, Butler saw Absol appear with Jirachi, the corners of his mouth curling up into a smile of a scheme accomplished.
Seeing Absol appear carrying Jirachi, Ash and the others also began their performance.
After a rather sentimental performance, Ash gave Jirachi a look.
Jirachi understood, slowly flying from Absol's back into mid-air, the eye on its stomach looking as if it could open at any moment.
After Jirachi controlled the eye on its stomach to open completely, Butler, hiding in the shadows, could no longer sit still.
Standing on a certain flying platform, he pressed a button, and several energy-generating devices suddenly extended from above the cave where Jirachi sleeps.
After these devices were activated, they released dark purple lightning at the Jirachi in mid-air, and several bolts of lightning formed a purple spherical cage, trapping Jirachi inside.
Under Butler's control, Jirachi was sent flying through the air to Butler's side.
"Everyone, welcome to the magic show of the true grand magician, Butler."
Butler welcomed Ash and the others.
Upon seeing Butler, Dian shouted loudly: "Butler, stop this!"
Butler sneered: "Stop? Dian, don't joke around. Now that Jirachi is in my hands, my dream is about to come true, and Groudon will be resurrected soon. I will let those bastards from Team Magma know who is right!"
"Dian, after the experiment succeeds, I believe you will definitely understand me!"
Just as Butler finished speaking, those instruments released purple lightning, encircling Ash and the others as well.
"Everyone, the climax is about to begin, please try to enjoy this great performance!"
Saying this, Butler intended to take Jirachi and start the instrument he had built.
Seeing this scene, Ash's mouth curled up slightly; he was waiting for Butler to activate the instrument again.
Striking at the heart, that is the most effective way to dismantle an ambitious person.
He had Pikachu use Thunderbolt to destroy the energy-generating device at the cave entrance, then mounted Flygon and flew toward the flying machine where Butler was.
May and Brock flew on Tropius to a safe place to watch the show.
Just after boarding the flying machine where Butler was, Ash saw Butler holding a switch.
Butler sneered: "Alright, Jirachi, hurry up and collect the comet's energy for me!"
"Click!"
After the switch was activated, the machine automatically aimed Jirachi at the comet in the sky.
However, the comet energy absorption that Butler anticipated did not occur, and Jirachi didn't even make a move.
"Why?"
"Why is it like this? My calculations shouldn't have been wrong!"
Seeing no reaction, Butler went mad checking the instrument.
Ash, who was watching quietly, suddenly spoke up to remind him: "You even grabbed the wrong target, how could it possibly succeed?"
Butler was stunned, and not caring who reminded him, he stared closely at Jirachi and retorted: "Grabbed the wrong one? Impossible, it is Jirachi, I didn't grab the wrong one!"
"He is indeed Jirachi, but he is my family, he is not the one you stole from Faunce."
Ash took the wild Jirachi out of his bag.
The Jirachi trapped in the container also, with Goh's Helping Hand, broke the instrument and flew out from inside.
"How can there be two Jirachi? What kind of dark magic did you use?"
Seeing the figures of two Jirachi, Butler's CPU was fried, and he still couldn't understand why.
"Dark magic? To tell you the truth, I never trusted you from the start. The Jirachi you saw, only the one you saw on the first night was the Jirachi capable of channeling the comet; the ones you saw afterward were the one I caught."
Ash paused, then continued: "Let me tell you one more thing: Groudon is not dead at all. You trying to create Groudon through resurrection is a mistake in itself."
"The real Groudon is currently sleeping in a volcano somewhere. Those idiots from Team Magma targeting Groudon is courting death, and your idea to resurrect Groudon is even stupider than Team Magma's."
If Groudon heard some human bragging about resurrecting it, Groudon would probably not hesitate to reward him with a Precipice Blades.
Living perfectly well, only to be treated as a dead Pokémon by someone else—how is this any different from mocking it to its face about not being able to fly?
"Bullshit!"
"My plan is definitely correct. Kirlia, Dusclops, Salamence, go, get that Jirachi for me!"
Butler was completely obsessed.
Ash chuckled: "Heh, want to get physical with me? You are truly confident. Pikachu, give them a lesson."
"Pika~Chu!"
Pikachu jumped off Ash's shoulder and unleashed an unrestrained Thunder at Butler's three Pokémon.
"Zzzzt~"
The powerful current struck Salamence and the others, and in less than three seconds, they were charred black from the electricity.
"This... how is this possible? How could that Pikachu be this strong?"
Butler completely doubted life.
Ash said coldly: "Butler, surrender, you have no chance left."
"No, I will not admit defeat, I must let..."
Seeing the ferocious look on Butler's face, Ash had no choice but to have Pikachu give him an electrotherapy session to calm down.
After being treated with electrotherapy, Butler completely gave in.
Ash took out a rope to tie him up and used his own Poké Ball to take back those three Pokémon.
Ash didn't intend to keep these three Pokémon, but he also wouldn't leave them to Dian or Butler.
He planned to transfer these three Pokémon to Professor Oaks Laboratory to properly divert Professor Oak's attention.
As for why he didn't consider giving them to Brock or May, it was simply because the aptitude of these three Pokémon wasn't good, and their potential was nearly exhausted; keeping them would require too many resources.
