Chapter 4 - Perfect shot

When the Yellow Team broke through with the ball just now, he kicked it out of bounds. Now it's the Red Team's throw-in.

The Red Team's defender threw the ball in with both hands, and another defender made a long pass, giving the ball to his team's midfielder.

After a few passes among the midfielders, they advanced to the outside of the opponent's penalty area.

Several of the Yellow Team's defenders were on high alert, making the Red Team's advance very difficult.

At this moment, the ball came to Kreller's feet. He looked up and scanned the situation on the field, then his gaze suddenly sharpened.

He saw Lin Ran suddenly move.

Lin Ran, who was originally wandering at the edge of the penalty area, first ran quickly to the left wing, causing Fernando, who was defending him, to follow his footsteps, and then suddenly ran in the opposite direction.

This sudden movement caused Fernando, who was large and slow to turn, to be instantly shaken off.

Seeing this, Kreller no longer hesitated. He pushed the ball to the right with his right foot, creating an opening, and then quickly pushed the ball towards Lin Ran's direction with his instep.

The pass was very tricky. The ball went through the gap between two of the Yellow Team's defenders, heading straight for Lin Ran, who had already shaken off his defender.

However, due to the high speed of the ball, and because Kreller chose a Passing line that was some distance from Lin Ran in order to penetrate the opponent's Defense, it was a difficult ball to receive. A slight misjudgment would cause him to miss the ball.

"Oh no! What a shame for this ball, it's too fast, I don't think he can catch up."

"But this number 11 still has some skill. He passed the ball through such a small defensive gap. It's a pity he did it a bit too early. If he had waited a bit, it would have been better."

The staff in the coaching team off the field felt a bit regretful seeing this ball.

Flores, as the Head Coach, also nodded imperceptibly.

He turned his head, just about to say something to Moya next to him, when he suddenly heard another gasp from the crowd:

"Oh my god! That guy actually caught up to the ball."

"I'm not seeing things, am I? That guy was like the wind just now."

"It's a shame the ball control was a bit too much, there's no angle for a Shooting anymore."

Hearing these voices, Flores turned his head back to the field with some surprise, just in time to see Lin Ran desperately chasing the ball that was rolling towards the end line.

It seemed that Lin Ran had managed to reach the ball just now, but he only slowed it down a bit and couldn't fully stop it.

The ball was still rolling towards the end line, just a bit slower.

Flores shook his head and turned to Moya, saying, "This Chinese's speed is indeed good, but unfortunately his basic skills are too poor. He can't even stop the ball properly. Even if he catches up to this ball, there won't be an angle for a Shooting."

"Beautiful! Good ball!"

Suddenly, Moya, who was listening to him, let out a gasp.

"Huh? What's going on?" Flores turned his head to look, a bit puzzled.

On the field, the ball that should have rolled out of bounds was now lying in the Yellow Team's goal.

At this moment, both the players on the field and the spectators off the field were dumbfounded, as if they had witnessed something incredible.

After a moment, the scene finally awoke from this eerie silence, followed by a burst of enthusiastic cheers and exclamations.

"Amazing! Zero-angle Shooting, that was beautiful!"

"Ah! This goal reminds me of Van Basten."

"I didn't expect to see such a spectacular goal today."

From these exclamations, Flores finally understood what had happened. It turned out that the Chinese Kid he hadn't thought highly of had scored a zero-angle goal near the end line.

How could this be? He knew at a glance that the kid's basic skills were terrible, so how could he have such amazing Shooting skills?

It must have been a fluke. Yes, it must have been a fluke. You know, sometimes people can have bursts of performance under certain circumstances, doing things they couldn't do before.

But such bursts are often fleeting, a flash in the pan, and won't happen again. This Chinese Kid must be like that.

He needed to observe him further.

Meanwhile, on the field, Lin Ran, who had just scored that zero-angle goal, stood somewhat dazed near the end line, a thoughtful expression in his eyes.

He was savoring the feeling of that Shooting.

Just now, he used a reverse run to shake off Fernando and barely managed to catch up to Kreller's pass with all his might.

Unfortunately, his ball control skills were truly subpar. He only managed to lightly graze the ball with his toe, and the ball only slightly changed direction and slowed down a bit before continuing to roll forward.

There was nothing he could do, Lin Ran had to continue chasing the ball with all his might. Fortunately, his speed was indeed fast enough, and just as the ball was about to cross the end line, he caught up to it.

At this moment, a Yellow Team defender was already diving towards him, which left him no time to stop the ball and adjust.

So, he steeled himself and, relying on his instincts, struck the ball with his right foot.

At this point, a miraculous scene occurred. As he made the Shooting motion, he subconsciously scanned the goal and the goalkeeper, and also observed his surroundings.

Then, his brain, like a precise computer, instantly calculated what footwork he should use, how much force, which part of the ball he should hit, how his body should move, and other such information.

All this information was compiled in his brain, and then his brain issued the final command to his body.

With the command from his brain, Lin Ran, purely by instinct, subconsciously swung his right foot.

"Bang!"

With a dull thud, after the ball made contact with Lin Ran's right foot, it shot out like a cannonball.

It drew a perfect arc, curving around the goalpost and flying over the Yellow Team goalkeeper's head.

Then, with a graceful trajectory, it plunged into the top left corner of the goal.

Feeling the sensation of that Shooting, Lin Ran suddenly understood how to use his perfect-level Shooting at this moment.

To put it simply, as long as he had the idea of a Shooting, his brain would automatically calculate the most suitable footwork, force, contact point with the ball, and other information based on the situation on the field, allowing him to score the ball in the most appropriate Shooting manner.

This was simply a devastating weapon! As long as he could get to the ball in the attacking third and had space for a Shooting, he could kick the ball into the goal in the most logical way.

He hadn't expected this perfect-level Shooting skill to be so powerful. He was about to soar!

Just as Lin Ran was immersed in the shock brought by the perfect-level Shooting, his body was suddenly embraced.

Kreller was excitedly hugging him.

"Lin, that goal was absolutely beautiful! You're a genius striker!"

Kreller's face was full of amazement. He had given up hope for that ball, but Lin Ran had miraculously shot it in, and it was such a spectacular goal.

This made him ecstatic for a moment. Now he had an assist, which would increase his chances of staying today.

At this time, the other Red Team players also reacted and congratulated Lin Ran.

After all, this was the equalizer, and for the Red Team players who had been suppressed by the Yellow Team, it was nothing short of a shot in the arm.

Meanwhile, the Yellow Team players were all annoyed, especially the Yellow Team's goalkeeper and Fernando, who had been shaken off by Lin Ran.

Fernando was now staring unhappily at Lin Ran, who was surrounded by others, his eyes flashing with a fierce light.
