Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Monster and the Symbol

The interrogation room was cold, but the man sitting there didn't seem to notice. Zoro had his feet propped up on the metal table, snoring loudly. His three swords were gone—confiscated by Aizawa—which was the only reason he hadn't cut his way out yet.

The heavy steel door creaked open. Two figures walked in. One was Shota Aizawa, looking more tired than usual. The other was a mountain of a man with golden hair and a smile that radiated pure pressure.

"So, this is the young man who took down a villain with a sneeze?" All Might's voice boomed, filling the room.

Zoro opened his one eye. He looked at the giant hero, then at the small white creature perched on All Might's shoulder—Principal Nezu.

"Who are you? The circus acts?" Zoro asked, his voice rasping.

Aizawa sighed, rubbing his temples. "Watch your mouth. You're in the presence of the Number One Hero and the Principal of UA Academy. We've checked every database in Japan, and you don't exist. No Quirk registration, no ID, nothing."

Zoro sat up, his expression turning serious. "I already told the scarf-guy. I'm Roronoa Zoro. I'm a pirate. I was on my way to Wano when the fog got weird."

Nezu, the small principal, sipped a cup of tea that seemed to appear out of nowhere. "A pirate? From the ocean? Interesting. Tell me, Mr. Zoro, how did you create a tornado without a Quirk? My sensors showed zero biological energy emission. No fire, no ice, no transformation."

"It's just a sword technique," Zoro shrugged. "And I don't need a 'Quirk' to cut things. Give me my swords back, and I'll show you."

All Might stepped forward, his shadow looming over Zoro. "Young man, you are in a world of laws. Using such power in public is a crime. However..." he paused, his blue eyes narrowing. "I felt your spirit when I walked in. You aren't a common criminal. You have the eyes of a warrior who has faced death many times."

Zoro smirked. "Finally, someone with a bit of spine. You look strong, old man. Maybe this world isn't so boring after all."

Nezu hopped down onto the table. "We have a proposal. Since you have nowhere to go and the police want to lock you up for 'Illegal Quirk Usage,' UA Academy will take custody of you. You will stay at the school as a... 'Special Guest.' In exchange, we want to study your abilities. And perhaps, you can show our students what real strength looks like."

Zoro leaned back. "Does this 'Academy' have booze?"

Nezu smiled, a glint of mystery in his eyes. "The best in the city."

"Fine," Zoro stood up. "But I'm not a student. I don't do homework. I just want a place to train until I find my crew."

All Might laughed, a sound like thunder. "Welcome to UA, Roronoa Zoro! Just try not to get lost on your way to the dorms."

Zoro turned toward the door, walked straight past it, and headed toward a janitor's closet.

"The exit is the other way," Aizawa muttered.

"I knew that!" Zoro snapped, turning around with a blush of frustration. "I was just... checking the security!"
