The bedrock of Brendok groaned, a deep, tectonic vibration that traveled through the soles of Revan Shan's boots and hummed against the Phrik-alloy plates of his armor. Above, the ancient reactor pits were weeping molten slag; below, the Rakatan vault pulsed with a dying, bronze radiance. The air was a thick slurry of ionized ozone, volcanic ash, and the cold, oily scent of the Dark Side.
Revan stood at the center of the threshold, his black cloak billowing in the updraft caused by the reactor's containment failure. He held his dual lightsabers in a low Jar'Kai guard—the Natural Red blade glowing like a captured ember in his right hand, and the Powerful Balanced Purple humming with a melodic, crystalline resonance in his left.
Facing him, twenty meters across the fractured stone, stood Qimir. The stranger's cortosis-veined helmet was a void in the light, absorbing the bronze glow of the vault. Flanking him were the eight remaining acolytes. Two leaned heavily on their comrades, their armor scorched from the earlier skirmish, but their red blades remained ignited, trembling with a desperate, frantic energy.
"Twelve acolytes to start, eight to finish, and one very grumpy teacher," Revan remarked, his voice amplified by the acoustics of the pit. He popped a lemon candy, the tartness sharp against his tongue. "According to my 9th Doctorate in Advanced Mathematics & Logic Programming, the probability of you winning this encounter is rapidly approaching zero. But then again, I've always had a soft spot for the underdog. It's a very Doctor-ish trait."
Qimir didn't laugh. He didn't even speak. He simply shifted into a predatory, low-slung stance. The acolytes moved on his silent command, fanning out with the practiced coordination of a pack of wolves.
"Statement: Master, I have analyzed the structural integrity of the approaching meatbags," HK-47 whirred, stepping up beside Revan. The droid's Beskar-Phrik frame reflected the red and purple light of the sabers. He held his electrostaff with a lethal, twitchy grace. "Observation: The two injured units are overcompensating for localized trauma in their lower extremities. Suggestion: I shall 'kindly' provide them with a permanent rest. It is a very considerate application of my combat sub-routines."
"Keep them busy, HK," Revan said, his eyes fixed on Qimir. "Don't let them cluster. I'm going to have a word with the headmaster."
The Symphony of Juyo
The clash was instantaneous. Qimir exploded forward, a blur of shadow and red plasma. Revan met him halfway, his movements a masterclass in Form VII Juyo. Unlike the standard, rigid forms taught in the Temple, Revan's Juyo was a chaotic, staccato rhythm—a dance of controlled passion and mathematical precision.
Revan utilized his 6th Doctorate in Advanced Dimensional Mechanics to calculate the spatial vectors of Qimir's strikes. He didn't just block; he parried with a microscopic economy of motion, his Balanced Purple blade catching the red strike and sliding it harmlessly into the stone floor. He then pivoted, his Natural Red blade arcing in a counter-strike that forced Qimir to utilize a desperate Force Jump to clear the radius.
"Cortosis, Qimir?" Revan chirped, his purple blade spinning in a complex defensive flourish. "It's a lovely material. Very retro. But did you know that my gauntlets are lined with a Beskar-Phrik-Cortosis alloy weave? If you try that hilt-bash trick, you're just going to give my computer a very interesting data-point to analyze."
Qimir growled, a sound of pure, unadulterated frustration. He unleashed a localized Force Storm, a jagged ripple of dark lightning that sought to ground itself in Revan's armor.
Revan didn't flinch. He utilized Tutaminis, his left hand opening to catch the lightning. He didn't just absorb it; he siphoned the energy through the Kyber-quantum informatics in his gauntlet, using the Dark Side surge to over-clock his own Force Enhance.
"Thanks for the boost!" Revan laughed. He surged forward, his speed suddenly doubling. He delivered a flurry of strikes—Form II Makashi precision mixed with the raw kinetic power of Form V Shien.
The HK-47 Audit
While Revan danced with the Master, HK-47 was conducting a lethal audit of the acolytes. The droid moved with a terrifying, mechanical fluidity, his Form VII Juyo combat data allowing him to predict the organic meatbags' movements before they even committed to them.
One acolyte lunged with a heavy overhead strike. HK-47 didn't parry. He ducked, his servos whirring at peak efficiency, and swept the acolyte's legs with his electrostaff. As the meatbag fell, HK-47 delivered a precise, non-lethal (but extremely painful) strike to the collarbone with his vibroblade.
"Exclamation: Oh, look! You've developed a structural flaw!" HK-47 buzzed. "Statement: I shall now provide a localized correction. It is for your own good, really. Dying is such a messy hobby. Being unconscious is much more 'kind'."
Two more acolytes attempted to surround the droid. HK-47 initialized a Force Repulse—or rather, the mechanical equivalent: a localized sonic-pulse generator hidden in his chassis. The wave threw the acolytes back, their concentration shattered.
The R2-D6 Extraction
In the background, oblivious to the humming blades and the smell of ozone, R2-D6 was plugged into the Rakatan data-vault's primary access node. His dome was spinning at a dizzying speed, his Kyber-Quantum Slicing core working through ten-thousand-year-old encryption protocols as if they were a child's puzzle.
"Beep-boop-whistle-clank!" R2 chirped, a series of data-streams flowing across Revan's HUD.
"He's got it!" Cortana's voice rang in Revan's ear. "Revan, R2 has mapped the entire Rakatan energy-grid for this sector. And he found a high-priority file... a set of coordinates for an automated foundry on Lehon. It's not the Star Forge itself, but a prototype. A Rakatan Foundry."
"Loot!" Revan grinned, parrying a savage blow from Qimir that left a scorch mark on the stone. "D6, you're a genius! Grab the file and get back to the ship! This place is about to have a very permanent audit!"
The Containment Failure
The reactor above finally gave up the ghost. A massive explosion rocked the mountain, sending a pillar of blue plasma screaming down the central pit. The bronze light of the Rakatan vault turned a violent, screaming white as the energy-well began to invert.
"Sol! Get the girls out of here!" Revan shouted through the Force Meld, his mind a beacon of calm in the chaos. "The vault is going critical! I'll hold the ceiling!"
Sol, carrying the Rakatan Memory Crystal, nodded and led Jecki and Osha toward the lift.
Qimir saw his chance. He lunged for the Memory Crystal, but Revan intercepted him with a Force Stasis that froze the air between them.
"Not today, Smiling Man," Revan said, his voice dropping into that weary, ancient 12th Doctor gravity. "The story doesn't end with you winning. It ends with you surviving long enough to realize how wrong you were."
Revan utilized a Force Repulse of his own, a massive wave of kinetic energy that cleared the room. He didn't aim to kill Qimir; he knew the 'Butterfly Effect' was already in play, but some things were fixed nodes. Qimir had a destiny to found the Knights of Ren, and his Master was still hiding in the shadows of the High Republic. Revan wasn't here to be the hero of the Jedi's cover-up; he was here to be the Maverick who walked away with the data.
"HK, D6, board the Pearl! Now!"
The Black Pearl descended into the pit, its ion cannons firing a suppression-burst that forced the remaining acolytes to scatter. Revan deactivated his blades and utilized Force Jump, a fifty-meter leap that landed him squarely on the freighter's ramp.
The Escape from Brendok
The Black Pearl screamed out of the reactor pit just as the mountain collapsed. A massive shockwave of blue-and-white energy erupted from the fortress, a localized hyper-spatial rupture that scoured the peak of every tree and stone for miles.
Inside the cockpit, Revan slumped into the pilot's seat, his chest heaving. He reached into his pocket and found a slightly crushed bag of lemon candies. He popped one and looked at the sensor feed.
"Sol's transport is clear," Cortana reported. "They're heading for Coruscant. The High Council is already requesting a localized quarantine of the system."
"Let them quarantine the dust," Revan said, a tired but triumphant smile on his face. "We've got the data. We've got the Foundry coordinates. And we've got a very irritable HK-47."
"Statement: Master, I am experiencing a 34% increase in satisfaction levels," the droid whirred, currently polishing his vibroblade in the hold. "Observation: The meatbags on this planet were structurally inadequate, but the environment was conducive to high-quality liquidation. Suggestion: We should visit the 'Foundry' next. I am in need of a new long-range rifle. Something that can 'kindly' liquidate a meatbag from the next zip-code."
"Soon, HK. Soon," Revan laughed.
He looked at R2-D6, who was currently projecting the Rakatan Foundry blueprints.
"We're not in a rush, D6," Revan said, gripping the Jump-Snap hyperdrive lever. "The Sith Acolyte era is just getting started. Qimir is still out there. Mae is still hunting. And we... we have a journey to continue. Adventure isn't about reaching the finish line first; it's about seeing all the sights along the way."
He pulled the lever. The stars didn't stretch; they snapped.
The Black Pearl vanished into the blue-white tunnel of hyperspace, leaving the smoldering ruins of Brendok behind. The Maverick Knight had his loot, his crew, and a galaxy of Star Wars movies to rewrite, one witty remark at a time.
"Next stop," Revan grinned, "wherever the wind—or the Force—decides is most interesting. Cortana, find me a world with a decent café. I'm out of tea."
