(This is just my personal thoughts on the fic; if you want to read the chapter, read it and skip this.)
The main motivation for this fic is that I've seen too many "Ash's dad left to get the milk" memes, and decided to do something about it. Also, Giovanni is not the father, contrary to many theories. There's a scene where we see a silhouette of his father's Rapidash and Ash—that's not Giovanni. Second, this isn't just "Ash's Dad got involved." When I say involved, I don't mean supporting from the sidelines. Ash's starting location itself is going to change, which brings me to my second idea for this fic. I have always seen fics like Chaos Rising, Traveller, or the Savage Trainer, or even other specialist fics, and I've seen many videos of what a type-specialist team of Ash would look like. In my opinion, no type suits Ash more than Flying, as he has one in every region. Grass or Fire come close second, but Flying is the type that embodies Ash the most, as it embodies Freedom—the quality Ash thrives on. He is creative, hardworking, and free with his ideas. So Ash will have a Flying-type team due to Ash's Dad getting involved. If people have an issue, have a tissue. (I mean, you can choose not to read; no need to write reviews or rage bait in the comment section.)
Aside from these two points, I am always open to suggestions if they work with the narrative. It doesn't mean I would implement them—just consider them if they're really good.
I won't mention my current thoughts on a team and will keep it open-ended. As for whether Pikachu will be on Ash's team, I'll leave it up to the readers' choice in the comment section, as he won't be the main star of his team even if he is there. But I can justify it, since Flint and Volkner have non-type specialty Pokémon whose main objective is not only as a surprise but also to train their specialty to cover their weaknesses.
