*Ling Yue's POV*
The door snaps shut with a metallic click.
All through the car ride and the walk through the lobby, my mind had been completely numb, frozen in a haze of disbelief. But the sound of that lock turning pulls me out of the fog instantly. I realize where I am—inside his private suite at the villa.
I turn around immediately, my hand reaching for the brass handle to push my way back out into the corridor.
Jin Hao moves faster. His arm shoots past my ear, his palm slamming flat against the door above my head. The force rattles the frame. His frame presses flush against my back, trapping me tightly between his solid chest and the solid door.
"Where do you think you're going?" his voice drops low against the shell of my ear, entirely devoid of warmth.
I drive my elbow back into his ribs with everything I have. "Out! Get off me!"
