The VIP room fell silent the moment Ian Kim stepped inside.
He gently placed Alex on the hospital bed, his jaw tight, eyes cold.
"Move," he ordered the nurse.
Doctor Timothy rushed in moments later, slightly out of breath.
"President Kim, what happ—"
"Check her," Ian cut him off sharply. "Now."
Timothy examined her quickly. After a few tense minutes, he sighed.
"She's exhausted. Minor bruises. No serious injuries. But…" he paused.
"But what?" Ian's voice dropped dangerously.
"She's been under a lot of stress. Her body is weak."
Ian's gaze shifted to the girl lying unconscious on the bed. Her face looked pale, fragile… yet peaceful.
"Make sure she gets the best care," he said coldly. "If anything happens to her—"
"Nothing will," Timothy assured quickly.
Hours later…
Alex slowly opened her eyes.
The first thing she saw was a tall figure standing by the window.
Even in the dim hospital light, he looked untouchable. "You're awake."
His voice was calm… but distant.
She tried to sit up but winced in pain.
"Don't move," he said, walking toward her.
Her heart began to race. "Th-thank you for helping me…".
He stared at her for a long moment
His eyes darkened slightly
"Do you have somewhere to go?" he asked.
She hesitated.
"I… I'll manage."
He studied her face like he was trying to read something deeper.
"You're a terrible liar."
Her eyes widened.
Before she could respond, the door opened and the driver entered quietly.
"President Kim, the board meeting—"
"Cancel it."
The driver froze.
Cancel? For a stranger?
Ian turned back to Alex.
"Until you recover, you're staying somewhere safe."
She blinked.
"W-where?"
A faint smirk touched his lips.
"With me.".
