" Ugh... Come on, it's almost been two months already. When are they gonna post the new chapter out? " I sighed in annoyance, clicking over and over again on the page refresh button.
It's been one month too late for the release of the 104th chapter of [ Harem In The Labyrinth Of Another World ], a popular Isekai light novel from 2013 turned into a manga.
And one of the best reincarnation/transmigration stories to ever exist... In my opinion at least.
The reason for my frustration was the fact that they hadn't posted the new chapter on schedule like that used to. From the start of the manga adaptation till know, they had always kept to the same schedule... One new chapter every month.
But for whatever reason, they haven't posted the new chapter yet. I knew for a fact that the raw chapter was released 10 days ago, it was just that no one was actually translating it yet.
And I wasn't some dumbass clicking away at the site for no reason, someone from a Discord group I was in said that the new chapter would be released at midnight of today.
' Yeah, midnight my ass. It's already 1 am in the morning and there's nothing. ' I thought in frustration, but I wasn't that angry at the guy who spread that info... Although it was complete bullshit.
The guy was the epitome of weird in the Discord group, even weirder than the average Discord user.
His name was ROB_Intern, a very cringe worthy name was my first thought when I saw it. And that was coming from someone who's obsessed with Isekai manga/anime/light novel.
The weirdness didn't stop there, every now and than we'd see him post these links and he would advertise them as a way to reincarnate to another world... A sort of role-playing.
Of course, no one fell for it. No one was dumb enough to click a random ass link in a Discord server that could in most cases upload a virus to your computer.
Some tried to complain to the admin to get him banned... it never worked. The guy was a menace, he would just join again using a different account the second he was banned, it was almost magical.
At one point, the admin just gave up and told the whole sever to just ignore him.
It worked... Well, kind of. No one interacted with him ever since, but he still posted those random links with different setups.
At one point, I felt bad for him and tried to talk to him. He was actually a pretty decent person to talk and interact with... As much a person can do online at least.
Eventually I've come to relay on him whenever I needed to find out if a certain manga/novel was releasing chapters or not.
He was always accurate, till today that is.
Desperate for a new chapter, I entered Discord and contacted him.
[ Kawari-Mika ]: Yo, Rob. I thought the chapter was gonna be published at 12:00 tonight, what happened?
...
After a couple seconds of waiting, he came online and started typing.
[ ROB_Intern ]: I'm more frustrated than you on that, even with my authority, I can't do anything about this worlds lack of work force in the manga illustration and translation department. Even though that world's story had been shared already, this world's artists are super lazy.
And that's what I mean by weird, he never stops playing this character of his. Over time, I learned to ignore the weirdness and just go with the flow.
[ Kawari-Mika ]: I hear you on that, even the quality of the art has been declining too. Still, is the chapter gonna be published this morning or...
[ ROB_Intern ]: Patience my friend, as one of the last manga that has a genuinely dedicated illustrator, every minute is worth the wait. The chapter will be out at the latest time of 2~4 Am.
*Inhale*... *Sigh*...
' He's right, I can afford to wait 1~2 hours for the chapter. But sleeping isn't an option, the moment I close my eyes, I'll wake up late only to go to my part-time job. ' I thought.
There was the option of just waiting till tomorrow and reading the chapter than, but that was only for weaklings who aren't used pulling all nighters.
When I finally set my mind up on staying awake and waiting for the chapter, probably do some doom scrolling to pass the time, Rob sent me another message.

And there he goes, I was wondering how long it would take him before he does this again. This was probably the fifth time that he had sent me this link, I ignored it everytime without fail.
Seeing as I've got nothing to do, I asked about why he does this.

He seemed like too much of a weeb to actually be a hardcore hacker. Still, I had to test the waters and see what his response would be like
[ ROB_Intern ]: The reason I sent you those is because I know you too well, you're a perfect candidate for reincarnation. And no, they're not links with viruses, they are platforms that assist in reincarnation.
I could've used a Truck-kun service, but I can't afford it's fees with my current divinity.
' Oh boy, he's really a lost cause. ' I thought.
Seeing him play this Rob character so well, made me curious about what the link actually led too.
" Maybe it really is some reincarnation setup... Pffhahahahah, yeah right... Right. " I wasn't gonna lie to my self, I was so tempted to check out the link.
Thinking of my shitty laptop and how I didn't have anything important/personal stored in it, I made up my mind to check out the link just once.
It wasn't like losing this Discord account would net me any real losses.
Before going through with it, I sent a last message Incase my laptop crashes, a last resort of sorts.
[ Kawari-Mika ]: Listen, I'm going to check out the link. If it has a virus and crashes my laptop, I'll make as many accounts as possible just to ruin your life in Discord.
Reading my message, he sent me his reply.
[ ROB_Intern ]: Don't worry, non of that is gonna happen. Infact you'll thank me for the opportunity I gave you, plus a gift that'll definitely surprise just because you've been a good friend to me.
" How persistent, playing God till the end. " I said in exasperation.
" Well, here goes nothing. " Ready for the unknown, I hovered my cursor over the link and clicked.

It immediately redirected me into a new Chrome page and started loading. " Hmmm, bet it's some sex game ad, those things have been advancing fast with AI. " I said sarcastically.
" Oh, it's just a... No, no way. NO FREAKING WAY! " I said in shock, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
At first I didn't notice the resemblance, but once I looked closely I immediately knew what I was looking at.
It was a complete replica of the site that the MC of the [ Harem In The Labyrinth Of Another World ] Manga used to get reincarnated into the new world.
" Oh my gosh, they actually made an exact replica... Well I'm not sure if it's just the first page or... " I started rambling in giddiness.
Looking at the first page... Or should I say, 3rd page as indicated in the lower-middle part of the page that said [ 3/4 ].
I was bit disappointed for not being able to see the first two pages that let you customize your options for: ( race, type of world, current status of the world. ).
" Ugh bummer... It does make sense, the first two pages allow for a huge variety of options. The one who made this replica didn't/couldn't possibly replicate that too. *Sigh* " I said, trying to comfort myself for losing the opportunity to mess with and see what kind of worlds I could make up.
" At least they kept the page in which you could choose the languages. " I said, not really enthusiastic about it.
Just like the manga, the default language was Brahim. There were other languages too, each pertaining to the different races of the chosen world.
You could change what your language would be from the different options, as well as choosing a secondary language.
I wasn't really interested in changing the already set language, but I did add Burner as a secondary language. It's the language most beastkin speak, like Roxanne and Miria.
" Know the page that actually matters the most, here we go. " I said, clicking the button to proceed to the next Page.

And there it was, the character settings page. The holly grail for every true manga fan out there.
But I couldn't interact with the character options yet, I had to roll for the bonus points that one needed to spend in said character customization.
" Oh boy, my kryptonite, luck based games... " I genuinely sucked at anything luck based. Still, I tried my hands at rolling anyway.
In the manga/light novel, the MC had to spend an undisclosed long amount of time to get the best possible pull for ( BP = bonus points ), hopefully it won't take me long to do the same.
Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath to ready my self for the possibility of spending hours on this part. " *Inhale*... Hmm, I bet it's not that sophisticated of a function in this site. It's just a replica, so there won't be to0 many bad pulls like some rigged roulette games. "
Opening my eyes, I promptly proceeded to click the button.

And... I couldn't even muster a reaction for what laid before me, it was one of the worst first time pulls I've ever seen in a roulette game.

It was a freaking one... ONE!!
" Okay this shit is rigged, what kind of first pull is that. How can it... " And just like that, I started crashing out.
This was the reason I didn't play any games that had a roulette mini-game in them anymore, they would make me angry non real fast.
After a much needed 5 minute crash out session, I calmed down a bit. " *Sigh*... Fuck roulettes man. "
Looking at the BP box and the number I pulled, a bold idea came to me.
It was bold in the fact that it had a very low probability of working out. Still, if it worked, I could skip hours of non stop rolling for a good BP number.
The idea was to use the built-in Inspect function of chrome to see if I could manually change what number I would pull in the BP roulette.
It had a low percentage of actually working, but not a zero. I was banking on the fact that this was just a site made for fun, so there won't be any sophisticated coding for the UI shown.
" Well, nothing tried nothing gained. Might as well try skipping this roulette with a good number if I can. " I said, rubbing my hands in anticipation.
Right-clicking on the BP box, I chose the last function from the list, Inspect.
Clicking on it, a window from the right side of the chrome page popped up. In it, it revealed the code that ran the front UI of the page. Specifically, the one i clicked to inspect.
The moment i saw the code, I did I small victory fist pump. " Yes!! "
I basically had a fifty-fifty chance of actually finding what I was looking for, and I did. That ironically meant that I was lucky.
To explain it in a simple way, I either had the chance of finding a code that just made the pictures on the screen appear or the actual code function of the roulette shown in the page.
My gamble worked.
" Now to see if changing it will work or it'll just make the page crash and refresh... Here we go. " I said, feeling a bit anxious as I wasn't in the clear yet.
The matter wasn't really that complicated, I just had to change a number. The roulette function was a simple function that let's you set two numbers like the case of 1 to 99, and whenever you click the button, you'd get a random number form between those two numbers.
Like the random librarymodulefrom Python.
And just like I mentioned, I just had to change the first number being 1 to 99, making the roulette function pick up a number from 99 to 99.
Changing the the number, I exited the Inspect window. All that was left is to see if it works or just make the site crash and automatically refresh. " Even if doesn't work, I'll just roll a number and go with it. It's not like it's real reincarnation heh. "

Low and behold, it actually worked. " Fuck yeah, I feel like a hacker now hahaha. " I said, laughing in giddiness.
Fearing it might change back, I quickly clicked the confirm button. Seeing as the BP still displayed the number 99, I breathed a sigh of relief.
" Now to do some customization. " I said, looking at the four different customization settings.

First thing I checked out was the bonus Equipment setting, unlike what was shown in the manga, it had more than just weapon and accessory.

Still, it helps that whenever you level up, you get extra bonus points per level.
Next, I checked out the status settings, one thing that brothered me was that the Mc of the manga never bothered with spending bonus points on bolstering his attributes, it did make sense though as it wasn't as efficient as unlocking a new spell or a skill that could and would be more useful.

I had spent one BP to add one attribute point to HP, but the indicator for the bonus points still read 99.
Feeling more curious than ever, I spent all the BP on the HP attribute to see if it was just a visual error or something else entirely.
Having spent all 99 bonus points on HP, I tried putting bonus points into another attribute to see if the number was really stuck at 99 or it was just a visual glitch.

" Huh, guess there's only one thing to do before the site crashes for real... It's time to spend some bonus points. " I said, enthusiastically cracking my fingers.
First on the menu were the attribute points.

One thing to note about equipment is, unlike attribute points where each attribute point equals one bonus point, equipment on the other hand demands that you spend double the bonus points for each level, and there are six levels for each equipment.
That means it would cost you a total of 63 BP just to unlock one equipment till the sixth level... Not that it matters when you have unlimited bonus points.
Done with the bonus equipment, I went to the next setting, bonus skills. But as if my bad luck caught up to me, the site started slowing down all of the sudden. " Huh, what did I expect. I did kind of mess up it's UI code though. "
Waiting for a couple of minutes just for the list of bonus skills to show up, I got bored and started looking through my IG feed.
The site kept saying the magical chrome crash words not responding, I was tempted to just refresh the page and start all over again but got this feeling in my gut that I would regret doing that.
Although it was superstitious of me, I always followed my gut feeling, it'd sometimes get me out of some really hectic situations so I had always trusted in it.
After waiting for a while, I could move the mouse and interact with the site again. " Ugh, hopefully it doesn't lag again. "
As if I had jinxed my self, the site started lagging again. I did manage to select two skills that had played a big roll in The MC's journey.

Getting up from my desk, I went to refresh my self and maybe wear a hoodie, it was getting cold and college style dormitories weren't the best at keeping heat in.
After taking a complementary shit with my piss, I placed my phone to get charged and hunched back at my desk.
" Well look who's working again. " I said, looking at the page that wasn't lagging anymore.
" Hmm, I'll just confirm with these settings in place, wonder if there is anything else to this site or it's just this... " I thought out loud, not sure if this site is just for visuals alone or that it might lead to another mini-game of the sort.

Getting up from the straw bed, I turned around and gave a thorough inspection to the ground and it's surroundings using the Analysis skill, my bonus equipment was scattered around under the straw bed.

Two of the equipment that drew my focus were the weapon Holy Sword Durandal and the accessory RingOfAbsoluteDetermination.
I decided to only keep those, the rest were too inspicuous to just carry around, so i turned them into bounes points turning my 0 BP into 315 real fast.
Although I knew what skills Durandal had, I both inspected it and the accessorie Ring Of Absolute Determination just in case they were different from what I had seen from the manga.

After putting on the Ring, I fully focused on the sword I was holding in my right hand and said. " It's way lighter than I thought it was gonna be, it's like holding a styrofoam twig-Oh... Right, my strength attribute is 99 right now. "
Looking down at the ground, my black socks were starting to pick up the dirt. looking around in the stable, I spotted a pair of leather sandals next to a log, the same ones the MC wore at the start, making him earn his first job, Thief.
Sitting down on a log, I started putting them on without any hesitation. Although they looked small for my feet at first, once I strapped them in they resized to fit me perfectly. " Woah, equipment is like magic in this world. "
And just like the MC, I got the thief job.

Although I got de-aged back to 17-years-old, my build didn't change much. I was still 195 cm-tall based off of how my pants still fit me.
What did change was the bit of tummy fat that I had, it turned into this washboard abs. A physique I had missed greatly.
