Chapter 6 - Chapter6:Meeting You Is My Luck

"Congratulations, Host—your level has risen again!"

"For every second the Host remains alive in this world, you earn 0.8 yuan."

[Name: Jiang Cheng.]

[Age: 18.]

[Height: 185 cm.]

[Looks: 85/100.]

[Level: 6.]

[System Reserve: 4,890 yuan. (Withdraw anytime)]

[System Rate: 0.8 yuan/sec.]

[EXP to Next Level: 5,000,000 / 10,000,000.]

Jiang Cheng stared at the notification; excitement turned him purple down there again.

Five million spent—and the crit returned eighty-five million.

In a single day he owned five apartments; his net worth vaulted past the hundred-million mark.

Jiang Cheng silently begged for more of these lucky-dog crit cards.

And the system had leapt straight to level six.

At 0.8 yuan a second, that was 48 yuan a minute—nearly seventy thousand a day.

Was this what life with cheat codes felt like?

After the paperwork, the former owners and the manager all scrambled to add Jiang Cheng's wechat and phone number.

They even invited him to dinner, but he politely turned every one down.

Jiang Cheng waved Xia over. "Xiao Xia, come with me."

Seeing him decline their invitations only to call the young salesgirl, the others exchanged knowing looks.

The Male Manager winked at her. "Xiao Xia, Mr. Jiang just earned you commission on five apartments. Treat him to dinner tonight. Take the day off—keep Mr. Jiang company."

Flustered but obedient, Xia nodded. "Yes, sir, I understand."

Once the crowd left, Xia bowed nervously. "Mr. Jiang, thank you so much—please let me buy you dinner."

Jiang Cheng waved her off. "Give me your bank card; I'll wire you the difference."

Xia knew what he meant. At first she'd desperately wanted that extra money.

But she'd already earned two percent commission—tens of thousands even after the company's cut.

She'd only run a few errands; the manager had done the real negotiating. Taking more felt greedy.

"No need, Mr. Jiang. I've got my commission—that's enough."

Jiang Cheng read the struggle in her eyes; not every kid from the mountains was pure, but Xia clearly was.

"Think carefully. Life doesn't hand out chances like this every day. Next client might gripe you don't flirt—or demand 'extras.' Take the cash while it's offered; opportunities are rare. Grab them before you're desperate."

His blunt reality check snapped her awake.

Her once-innocent eyes flickered with sudden panic.

She caught the manager's earlier hint—such "companionship" deals were an open secret in real estate.

Hard work and kindness rarely paid; if you were willing to suffer, life happily obliged.

Her family was poor—what right had she to refuse a windfall?

Xia stared at the cheap bag she'd bought from a street stall.

Teeth clenched, she pulled out her new bank card. "Thank you, Mr. Jiang. Meeting you is my luck."

Jiang Cheng took the card and transferred the 350,000-yuan difference on the spot.

He wasn't being saintly—he'd only wanted her to push each unit down to a million, giving a far bigger crit multiplier.

The gamble had paid eighty-five million; 350 k was loose change.

"Done. I'm off—hope Chengdu brings you more luck."

The 350,000 windfall left Xia stunned; she didn't know what to do with herself.

Watching him leave, she sprinted after. "Mr. Jiang—may I have your contact?"

Under his gaze she blushed. "I know I'm nothing special, but if you're ever free… could I treat you to dinner?"

She fumbled, trying to voice her gratitude.

Seeing her staring at the ground like a lost puppy, Jiang Cheng chuckled and shook his head.

A glance showed her favorability had leapt from 50 to 78.

He produced his QR code. "Scan it. No time today—next time."

Xia whipped out her phone, trembling.

She opened wechat and scanned him in a flurry.

Just then the system chimed.

"Because your first purchase was optimal, the System awards Host a [Soothe Card]."

"Use it on any goddess with 90+ looks: pleasure doubles. Payout scales with frequency and her satisfaction. One-time use."

Jiang Cheng blinked. Was the system getting lewd?

Was "soothe" what he thought it was?

Surely he wasn't misreading…

But money talked; he'd find a chance to use it. Half an hour later he parked in the mall garage near home.

A new car out of nowhere would take far too much explaining.

Yujing Estate. Jiang Cheng stepped inside.

His mom emerged from the kitchen carrying sliced fruit.

She looked him over. "Oh, look who remembered he has a home."

Jiang Cheng beamed, snatched a watermelon slice. "Mom, today's melon's sweet—nice pick!"

Li Yan rolled her eyes, carried the plate to the living room and set it before Jiang Jianming.

Jiang Cheng trotted after. "Dad."

Jiang Jianming glanced up. "Thought you were going on a grad trip—decided where?"

Jiang Cheng wasn't surprised; they'd always raised him hands-off.

He'd never given them reason to worry. "I'm thinking Shanghai—wanna check out Fudan before applying."

Jiang Jianming nodded. "Your call. Mom'll transfer the budget; handle it."

Li Yan shot him a glare. "You're the one who spoils him."

Still, she tapped her phone and sent Jiang Cheng thirty grand.

He accepted with a grin. "Thanks, Mom and Dad!"
