Chapter 9 - Chapter 08

Y/N~

The sun is too bright for my current state of emotional chaos. I squint at the weird-looking plant that's supposedly harmless if not provoked. Yeah, same. Me too, plant. Same.

Our outdoor class is behind the Hogwarts building, right next to the Forbidden Forest which makes me even more anxious for no reason. We're learning about magical flora today, and I am not mentally available for this. I'm still stuck on The Kiss. Capital T. Capital K.

Jimin's stupid wish.

His stupid face.

His stupid lips.

Ugh.

"Y/N."

A nudge on my side makes me blink rapidly.

I turn to Lima who's giving me the death stare of the century. I immediately straighten up and pretend to be interested in whatever our professor is saying about a plant that wiggles when insulted. Honestly, same again.

"Focus." Lima whispers like a warning. She's not mad. Yet.

I nod quickly. Two minutes later, I zone out again, accidentally mistaking a venomous tentacula root for my quill. Lima elbows me hard.

Class eventually ends, thank Merlin, and before I can escape anywhere safe, Lima grabs my arm and starts dragging me across the yard.

"Lima? What's—"

"Not a word until we're somewhere private."

Oh god. She's about to go full therapist mode on me.

She pulls me into one of the hidden side gardens near the greenhouse. It's small, cozy, and smells like mint and soil. No one comes here except some overly poetic Hufflepuffs writing heartbreak poems.

Lima turns to face me, crossing her arms. "Spill it. You're acting weirder than the time Peeves stole your underwear and turned it into a kite."

I sigh, staring down at the grass, and finally blurt out, "I kissed Jimin."

The silence is loud.

Then—

"You what?!" she shrieks, smacking my arm like I just confessed to murdering a professor. "You kissed the Park Jimin?!"

"It was part of a deal!" I hiss, looking around like the bushes might snitch on me. "He found my diary, remember? I had to do one thing he asked. That was it."

Lima gasps so hard she almost swallows her gum. "That manipulative little flirt! And let me guess—he loved it, didn't he?"

"I swore I'd cast a green spell on him if he told anyone. So it's a secret, okay?!"

She squeals like I just told her I won the Triwizard Tournament. "Oh my god. You have to tell Jungkook. This is—"

"No, I don't. Especially not Jungkook."

Speak of the devil.

"Y/N!" Jungkook's voice comes from the garden archway, and I nearly choke on air. He's walking toward us with Taehyung and... Jimin.

Great. Perfect. Amazing.

Lima quickly tries to fix her face but fails. She's practically vibrating. I try to look calm and normal but I probably look like a statue mid-panic.

Jimin, of course, is smirking. His eyes land on me immediately like he's got a radar for regret and awkwardness. And then—of course—he licks his lips.

Taunting. Menace. Absolute menace.

I shoot him a death glare that only makes him grin wider. Lima's trying not to scream beside me. Taehyung just smiles like a golden retriever, completely oblivious to the sexual tension panic storm brewing.

"You okay?" Jungkook asks, stepping closer and frowning at me.

"Yup," I say way too fast, already grabbing his wrist and pulling him out of the garden. "C'mon, let's go back to the dorm. I need to show you something. A thing. It's urgent."

"Uh... okay?"

Behind me, I hear Taehyung asking what's going on, Lima's mouth making a choked sound, and Jimin—probably still staring at me like I'm his next wish.

I don't look back.

I just keep walking.

Because if I stay one more second, I might do something illegal.
