Just as His Majesty the King had finished choosing his words and was about to speak, a servant who was not much taller than the dwarf was suddenly pushed to the center, facing King Robert.
This person is Bernie!
He looked utterly astonished!
He had hoped that someone as important as the Mountain would speak up, since his own father was the village butcher who supported his family by slaughtering livestock.
However, what he didn't expect was that with a slight movement of his leg, a force he couldn't resist pushed him out.
As a result, everyone's eyes were fixed on Bernie, who had suddenly darted out of the queue and onto the field.
He became the focus of the entire event!
"No!" Bernie panicked, at a loss for what to do.
He can express his dissatisfaction from behind the Demon Mountain, much like the keyboard warriors, but unfortunately, he still needs to hone his skills to face a host of powerful figures such as the King, Queen, Duke, Minister of Justice, Royal Enforcers, and Royal Guards!
His skill level was clearly insufficient!
Even Arya stopped her hoarse sobs and stared in astonishment at the short man wearing the red cloak typical of Lannister soldiers.
The Lannister soldiers and their retinues naturally sided with the Lannisters.
But in reality, the judgments made based on these labels are very superficial!
At any given time, the vast majority of people are only loyal to themselves. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many stories of dynastic changes.
Even Jaime Lannister was only loyal to his love for Cersei, rather than to the true development and responsibilities of the Lannister family.
The Mountain is no longer just a member of the Lannister family; he is now his own family. His manipulation of Tywin Lannister and Cao Cao's use of the emperor to command the feudal lords are similar in principle.
China's thousands of years of civilization, wisdom, and bloody struggles provide the time-traveling college student with a readily available treasure trove of case studies.
In the witch's grand prophetic plan, Lord Tywin had a relatively clear understanding of Cersei and Prince Joffrey's positions.
The Demon Mountain knew perfectly well what was going on!
Offending Cersei would have both advantages and disadvantages for his future career development. However, the advantages would outweigh the disadvantages.
Telling the truth will earn you the 'dislike' of Queen Cersei and Joffrey, but it will also gain the 'favor' of some people who will be more useful to you in the future.
For those loyal to the Demon Mountain, many of its 'heroes' are useful to their grand plans. They should seize the time to build goodwill with those they can, just like the transformation of their relationship with the villagers. They should not hire singers to sing about their own lofty ideals, and should not say a word. They should keep their heads down and do things one by one. They should keep their mouths shut, because other people's eyes will see and their minds will think.
The result in Clegane was that the villagers' deep hatred for the Mountain naturally and effortlessly changed.
To achieve great things, you have to offend those who deserve it, since those guys are either dead or discarded pawns anyway.
If the Mountain fears even the dead and abandoned pieces, then he's not the Mountain, he's just a hillbilly.
"Who are you?" King Robert had never seen such a distinctive fellow as Bernie.
Short, thin, and clever, with shifty eyes, he doesn't seem like a good person, but he's not a bad person either; he's definitely not a simple and honest one.
Bernie wanted to answer the king that he was Bernie, the Mountain's bartender, but when he opened his mouth, he found his mouth dry and his heart pounding, and he couldn't utter a single word.
Bernie, whose oral skills were unparalleled, became a guy with an iron clamp on his tongue.
A guard entered and knelt on one knee: "Your Majesty, Ser Sandor Clegane is ready to behead Michael. Please give the order to carry out the execution!"
The time has come!
Killing someone isn't as simple as Queen Cersei roaring and chopping off a head. This is a country with laws, rules, and order. Moreover, it's a gathering place for many courtiers and nobles from the Seven Kingdoms, including Lord Renly, the Minister of Justice.
While Queen Cersei could easily behead someone with a single roar, this wouldn't be the case. Besides, King Robert isn't dead; he's still alive and kicking!
The one who came to report was a man in a red cloak, Queen Cersei's bodyguard.
King Robert simply left the man kneeling and ignored him.
"Who the hell are you? What do you want to say?" King Robert glared with his bull eyes.
The king is reprimanding Bernie.
The king loves to swear, and everyone in the seven kingdoms knows it!
Bernie was speechless, at a loss for what to do, and his whole body was trembling slightly!
"Bernie, what the hell is he trying to do?" The Mountain drew his short sword with a whoosh. "Are you crazy? Why did you run into the middle of the arena for no reason? Is this a place where you can run wild? If you don't explain yourself to me today, I'll kill you!"
The Mountain strode out, causing the ground to tremble slightly. With a wave of his hand, he lifted Bernie into the air, raising him so high that Bernie's head almost touched the ceiling. The Mountain then thrust his gleaming dagger toward Bernie's face.
ah!
The noble ladies screamed in unison.
The Mountain's cruelty and bloodlust are known throughout the Seven Kingdoms, but this is the first time most people have witnessed his ferocity.
A disagreement escalated into bloodshed.
Moreover, this was done in front of His Majesty the King and the vast majority of the courtiers in the palace.
The title of the most villain in the Seven Kingdoms is truly well-deserved!
"Sir, stop!" Bernie's pitiful cry was like that of a wounded wolf.
The Mountain's dagger couldn't stop its all-out thrust. A flash of cold light, and the blade grazed Bernie's face, drawing a line of blood! Hearing Bernie's plea for mercy, the Mountain twisted his wrist, narrowly avoiding Bernie's face, but still leaving a bloody mark.
Many of the ladies and noblewomen present covered their faces, unable to bear to look. Those who opened their eyes and witnessed this scene were all chilled to the bone, and cold sweat broke out on their skin!
That was close!
Only one person's eyes shone with excitement and admiration: Prince Joffrey!
If the Mountain were to deliver a full-force strike to Bernie's face, the blade would pierce through Bernie's head from front to back, entering through his face and exiting through his skull.
Joffrey thought that would make a head look really fun!
The entire room fell silent!
A heavy breathing sound.
No one could help but be shocked by the ferocious and malevolent spirits of Demon Mountain!
The person being tortured was one of the Mountain's personal servants, someone he would kill without hesitation at the slightest provocation. What terrible things would the Mountain do if it were an outsider?!
This is a great demon god.
"Tell me, what are you doing here all of a sudden? If you don't give me a proper reason, you know what I'll do!" The Mountain held Bernie up as if he were a small rag doll.
The Demon Mountain was furious, and the consequences were severe. His shout was like thunder, making everyone's eardrums ring loudly.
"Prince Joffrey is lying! Arya and Michael didn't attack him!" Bernie, who was so terrified he was about to die, was completely confused and blurted out the words in a sharp, shrill voice with his eyes closed.
"Slap!" A loud slap landed, and Bernie's cheek immediately swelled up.
The Mountain, wielding a dagger, slapped Bernie across the face: "You lied! You dared to slander our noble prince and just queen! I'll kill you right now!"
The Mountain's eyes widened in fury, and he raised his dagger high once more, aiming it at Bernie's face!
"You asked for this, Bernie!" the Mountain roared.
"No, sir, I have evidence!" Bernie cried out with his eyes closed, flailing his arms and legs wildly, his voice truly—terrible!
