Time has a strange way of moving quietly.
One moment it feels slow… and the next, months have passed.
Class 8 was no longer new.
The classroom walls that once felt fresh now carried memories — laughter, small fights, group projects, surprise tests.
And now, once again, the teachers began saying the words everyone feared.
"Final terms are near."
The class groaned together.
Notes were revised. Timetables were written carefully. The atmosphere slowly became serious again.
Anna sat at her desk, flipping through her books. It felt familiar — just like last year.
Only this time, everything felt heavier.
Sophia and Emily were busy planning study schedules.
"We're starting revision from tomorrow," Sophia declared confidently.
Emily sighed. "Why are we so responsible suddenly?"
Anna smiled softly.
Behind her, Oliver was also different these days. He talked less during class. He focused more on notes. Sometimes he even stayed back after school to clear doubts.
One afternoon, while everyone was packing their bags, Oliver leaned forward.
"Final terms already," he said. "Feels like the year just started."
Anna nodded. "It went fast."
He paused for a second. "Good luck in advance, Roll 11."
"You too, Roll 12," she replied.
It was simple.
But there was something unspoken in the air.
As days passed, Anna started noticing little things again.
The way Oliver checked the timetable carefully.
The way he asked fewer questions now — because he understood more.
The way sometimes, when the classroom became quiet, their eyes would meet for a second longer than usual.
No one said anything.
Not Anna.
Not Oliver.
Not even Emily or Sophia.
But everyone could feel the pressure of exams — and the quiet feeling that this year was slowly coming to an end.
Soon, Class 8 would just be a memory.
And Anna didn't know what would happen after that.
Would things stay the same?
Would feelings change?
Or would everything remain unspoken?
As she closed her notebook that day, one thought crossed her mind —
Sometimes, the scariest part isn't exams.
It's endings. 💕
