he rain poured relentlessly over Suncity Castle, turning the courtyard into a small river. Lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the drenched gardens in silver flashes. Lunar's hands hovered over the fountain water, trying desperately to calm the storm she had indirectly caused.
Lunar (thinking, frustrated, Water Fairy curse):"Stop… stop this madness! Why won't the waters obey me?!"
The fountain water swirled violently, droplets flying in arcs, forming miniature whirlpools. Her magic shimmered faintly, glowing silver-white under the storm's harsh light. But the larger rainstorm — fed by the other Water Fairies — was beyond her control.
Frustrated, she slammed her palms onto the marble edge of the fountain. A sudden wave of water shot up into the air, slamming toward the courtyard.
From the shadows, Roy appeared, stepping calmly through the puddles. His black and fire-colored cloak whipped in the wind, his dark hair plastered to his face. His icy eyes scanned the courtyard, spotting the erratic water movement immediately.
Roy (cold, clipped):"What… is going on here?"
Lunar froze. Her heart skipped. She had not expected to be seen. Her magic dimmed instinctively, but a few droplets hovered in the air, defying the rain.
She stood up, shoulders tense, and met his gaze for the first time.
Roy's expression was cold as ice, unflinching, yet his eyes betrayed a spark of curiosity. He noticed the unnatural glow on her skin, the silver shimmer of her soaked hair, and the faint aura radiating from her hands.
Roy (coldly, measuring her):"You're not human."
Lunar's jaw tightened. She swallowed, trying to hide the faint surge of magic in her chest.
Lunar (soft, hesitant):"I… I'm just… a traveler."
The storm seemed to pause for a heartbeat. Rain pattered gently, but the air crackled with tension. Lunar's silver-white glow reflected in his piercing eyes.
Roy stepped closer, boots splashing in puddles. His presence was cold, unyielding, intimidating, yet something about her shimmer — her strange, impossible beauty — drew his gaze, even as he remained on guard.
Roy (cold, clipped):"Why are you here? And why does the rain… obey you?"
Lunar's eyes widened. She had tried to hide it. She hadn't wanted anyone to know.
Lunar (thinking, furious in Water Fairy mind):"I hate humans… I hate this world… and I hate that he's staring at me like that!"
A droplet of water from the fountain spiraled up and hovered unnaturally near Roy's shoulder. His eyes flicked to it, sharp and calculating, but he didn't flinch.
Roy (cold, almost amused in thought):"Interesting… dangerous, and beautiful."
