Chapter 2 - part: 02

The Gothic Hunt"

After disappearing into the shadows of Versailles, Lucien and Élodie retreated to a secluded gothic castle atop a misty cliff. The castle's towers pierced the night sky like jagged teeth, and the halls were lined with ancient tapestries that whispered secrets of centuries past. Lucien's shameless audacity had only grown—he no longer just seduced; he dominated the darkness itself.

Élodie, though still mortal, had become his partner in sin. Her curiosity had turned into daring bravery. She learned the hidden arts of shadow and illusion from Lucien, and together they could move through the castle unseen, slipping past hunters and inquisitive nobles.

But danger was closing in. Vampire hunters, armed with silver, holy symbols, and relentless determination, had learned of Lucien's presence. They stormed the castle one stormy night, lightning flashing across the jagged battlements. Lucien, ever shameless, did not hide. He faced them in the grand hall, red eyes glowing, fangs bared, a smirk curling on his lips. Élodie, dressed in a flowing black gown, stood beside him, her hand on his chest, her heart racing with both fear and excitement.

The battle was both violent and intoxicating. Shadows twisted into claws, lightning ignited the hall, and screams echoed through the towers. Yet Lucien's audacity and Élodie's courage proved unmatched. Every hunter who dared approach fell before their combined might—or fled, trembling.

After the storm subsided, Lucien held Élodie close. Rainwater trickled down the castle walls, and the moonlight bathed them in silver glow. "You've embraced the darkness willingly," he whispered, lips brushing her ear. "You are shameless, just like me."

Élodie's lips curved into a daring smile. "And I wouldn't have it any other way."

From that night, the legend of the shameless vampire and his fearless mortal lover spread beyond Versailles. Nobles whispered of a couple who moved through the night with deadly beauty, their passion as dangerous as their powers. And though centuries passed, it was said that Lucien and Élodie still wandered the shadows—ever shameless, ever untamed, and ever in love.
