This wasn't a normal shadow; it was 'Emon's Ambition,' the part of him that he had suppressed for years to maintain his laziness. The Shadow began to build a massive empire in a single day, conquering cities and demanding that everyone work twenty hours a day.
The Encounter:
The Shadow returned to Emon, looking like a dark, towering king. It mocked Emon, saying, "You are a hollow shell. I am the part of you that wants to be Great. I will rule the world while you rot in the dirt." The villagers looked at Emon, hoping their hero would finally stand up and fight. Emon looked at his shadow, blinked slowly, and then closed his eyes again.

The Shadow suddenly began to fade and weaken. It started screaming in agony as it grew smaller and smaller. The twist was that the Shadow's "Ambition" was fueled by Emon's "Interest." By choosing to be completely bored and uninterested in the Shadow's empire, Emon cut off its power supply. Ambition cannot exist without a mind to feed it. Within minutes, the dark king turned back into a flat, silent outline on the grass.
