About how the last survivors had retreated to remote villages.
And how the monsters destroyed our kingdoms and killed almost all the people.
And about how my father wanted to sail across the sea, only to be killed by a kraken.
But the story she told us most often was about the Monster King Karag, that he had created all the monsters and wanted to see all humans die.
Yet fifty years ago, a young hero came and trapped Karag in stone, which defeated him… for now.
However, his monsters still roam free.
"There was a knock at the door."
Noah went to the door and opened it.
"Anna. Noah, are you coming with us to the village's one-hundred forty-fifth-year festival? The monsters still haven't found our village."
"Noah." "Yes, wait a moment, I still need to get ready, okay?"
"Anna." "Okay, we'll all wait for you at the East Tower."
Noah slowly got ready and said goodbye to his mother.
Until he suddenly saw something glowing outside the window.
He slowly walked to the window and suddenly saw several burning stones flying from the sky toward the walls.
A loud bang! The wall collapsed, and Noah suddenly saw a small army of monsters moving toward the village.
All the villagers panicked. The alarm bell rang, and everyone ran in different directions.
The monsters entered the village and immediately began chasing the villagers.
Noah ran outside to look for his friends, but suddenly a monster threw him to the ground. It raised its sword, about to strike him, but was suddenly distracted by something.
As Noah got up, he saw in the distance a figure he had never seen before. But he ran anyway and found his friends, all gathered in one spot, unsure where to go.
"Heinrich!" "Noah! There you are!"
Suddenly, one of the monsters appeared, but it was killed by someone.
"Karoschi." "Come on! I will get you all safely to the village gate so you can leave the village. Come on, hurry!" says Karoschi. They all manage to get out of the village.
They kept running away from the village until they finally stopped to take a break.
"Heinrich." "And now what? What are we supposed to do? We have nothing left."
Karoschi said that everyone should get some sleep first and think about what to do tomorrow.
Everyone went to sleep, but Noah couldn't stop thinking about that figure.
