By evening my brain was already tired.
I spent the whole day pretending nothing happened.
Pretending I didn't sign a fake dating contract with my boss.
Pretending he was just my boss.
The office slowly emptied.
I packed my bag quietly and stood up.
Time to escape.
"Assistant Han Ji-soo."
Too late.
I slowly turned around.
"Yes, sir?"
"I'll drop you home."
My brain paused.
"…What?"
"I said I'll drive you."
I shook my head quickly.
"No! It's okay! I can take the bus!"
"I'm your employee," I added.
Silence.
He looked at me for a moment.
Then spoke calmly.
"You signed the contract."
I froze.
"From now on,"
"you are my girlfriend."He said.
My heart jumped.
"Outside the company — not employee."
I didn't know what to say.
"I… I can go alone," I said weakly.
"Ji-soo."
I looked up immediately.
It was the first time he called my name without my title.
"Don't make me repeat myself."
Five minutes later…
I was sitting in the passenger seat of his car.
The ride was quiet.
Too quiet.
I held my bag tightly and stared outside the window. Street lights passed one by one while my heartbeat refused to calm down.
No music.
No talking.
Just the sound of the engine.
After a while the car stopped.
"My house…" I said softly.
He looked at the building, then back at me.
"Go inside."
I nodded and opened the door quickly.
But before leaving, I turned back.
"Sir… thank you."
He didn't answer anything and left.
Inside my room I dropped onto the bed.
What just happened today?
Yesterday he was my boss.
Today I signed a contract.
Now he dropped me home like we were really dating.
I covered my face with a pillow.
How am I supposed to act tomorrow?
Do I greet him?
Do I bow?
I turned around restlessly.
Sleep refused to come.
Because tomorrow morning—
I had to face him again.
And this time…
as his girlfriend.
