Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

"Yes, my lord." Nagi bows a final time before disappearing into the shadows, leaving Gareth alone in the corridor.

To think that a common warrior could match up with the leader of the Dark Order. Gareth frowns deeper as he starts back toward his throne, his hands clasped together. That is most interesting indeed.

Day 14

Lisha looks over the Great Forest, the stars glimmering in the sky.

"What a beautiful view!" Lisha exclaims. "It's a shame there will be such death below the wonder of the stars. Astra is truly amazing, but who cares about the Goddess. I appreciate her creation but despise her teachings This will be a great place to land."

Lisha's purple wings flap steadily, lowering her between ten solems Covered in skin and rock, they resemble golems but differ greatly.

"These will do just fine," Lisha says as the solems look at her and bow in response.

For a bunch of dumb creatures, at least they know fighting me would be their end. Lisha shrugs her shoulders. The great thing about this invasion is the humans will never see it coming. The Great Forest is right next to the town of Ifer. Ever since Nagi took out most of their elite warriors, I should have no problem wiping out their main force. We must attack at full force. Then the capital of Glashmere will be right in our grasp. Once the capital falls, the rest will be as easy as taking candy from a baby. We will wipe the rest of the remaining villages off the map.

"Well, not all of them. There may be some spoils for us to take." Lisha chuckles before bowing her head and closing her eyes, slowly chanting an ancient language unknown to most humans.

She breathes in silence followed by a distant roar. She hears the marching steps of multitudes gathering around her. Lisha opens her eyes to find many different solems, dark mages, and wolfen, all called upon by her energies. Her small army totals in the hundreds, a few dozen of each creature, more than enough to take two cities. With Sol's weakened economy their troops will be poorly trained. A group of laborers turned into a lousy militia is nothing compared to the might of her demon army.

Lisha walks among the formation of her minions.

"Praise the wolfen!" she calls. "What fabulous creations by Gareth."

Twenty wolfen, all seven feet tall, stand covered with bristling dark hair, snarling as they show their large teeth.

"Who would have thought to take human hair and blood then fuse it with a wolf. Some could call that a monstrosity, but I think they are quite cute." Lisha grins menacingly. "Their teeth tearing into human flesh will be a symphony I will relish."

Lisha peers into the gnarly mouth of her favorite demonic creature.

"Be sure to rip them to shreds, my lovelies." Lisha says, caressing the wolfen's chin.

The wolfmen howl as saliva drips from their mouths.

"I feel the heat of the night has taken its toll."

Lisha snaps her finger, and in an instant her dress fades away revealing only her black bra, panties, fishnet stockings, and heels.

"That feels so much better." Reaching her arms to the sky and stretching, she says, "I love the early morning dew. It's showtime!"

Lisha walks through her small army, heading toward the front.

"We march to Ifer, my lovelies," Lisha commands.

She leads her army through the Great Forest. The wind blows across her cheeks gently as a small smile graces her face. I wonder where my daughter is. We lost you twenty years ago to those warriors from the Eastern Kingdom. I will find you!

Birds escape their roost, flying away, frightened by the heavy steps of the solems.

Lisha frowns. "There is no way to be stealthy with all these solems. They barely fit on the path. Couldn't Gareth have just given me a hundred wolfen instead?" she ponders aloud, looking up at the moon, thinking of her daughter's last smile and training.

"Magical Arrow!" a voice shouts from the darkness.

"My lady!" A wolfman slashes the arrow of light just before it hits Lisha.

"I should have known there would be some futile resistance before getting to the humans," Lisha mutters.

"Stop right there!" the voice calls out.

A single fairy, around four feet tall, descends from the sky. She has fair skin and wears a cloth brown dress. Her green and blue wings flap quickly as she reaches the ground, setting her piercing green eyes against Lisha.

"You demons have killed too many of my people. If I can kill at least one of you and protect those humans, my life will have meaning," says the fairy.

"What is your name, twig?" Lisha asks, staring into the fairy's eyes.

"My name is Tori, and I am the defender of this section of the forest. I will not allow you to take another step forward," she snaps, glaring. "Magical Barrier!"

Tori puts her hands out as a hundred-foot barrier surrounds her emitting a radiant green light.

"Crush her," Lisha orders the solems.

Fifteen solems charge forward and slam shoulder-first into the magical wall. Tori keeps her hands raised as the solems continuously pound against the barrier with tremendous force.

Lisha smiles, seeing the panic in the fairy's eyes. She's trying to hide it, but she can't. The solems continue to bash their stony fists against the barrier.

Lisha waves her hand and points forward. Fifteen more solems run shoulder-first into the barrier.

A cackle breaks through the tremendous beating. The light of the barrier breaks into shards of glistening powder. Tori screams as the barrier breaks. A solem charges up to her and bashes its fist into her chest, sending her flying through layers of trees before crashing on a large boulder. She falls on the forest floor, coughing up blood as she lies on the ground crying.

"I need to get up," Tori grunts, trying to push herself up from the ground. "I'm sorry I couldn't prevent this disaster," she whispers, her eyelashes fluttering as she loses consciousness.

Lisha looks out into the distance toward where Tori fell.

"Solems, return to me," she commands. "I believe that the pathetic twig is dead. There is no need to find her. We are on a timeline to destiny."
