Chapter 12 - Tornado's Reward

After Rimuru approached, he found two heroes who looked familiar but whose names he couldn't quite recall, fighting a Seaweed Monster.

After trying hard to remember for a while, Rimuru finally recalled who the two people fighting were.

The man with the slingshot who looked like a delinquent was Golden Ball, and the middle-aged man holding a rapier and dressed like a butler was named Spring Mustachio. Both were A-Class heroes, and their rankings were likely similar to Rimuru's, both in the thirties.

Before Rimuru joined, there were only thirty-eight A-Class heroes; including Rimuru, there were only thirty-nine.

Rimuru vaguely remembered that Golden Ball seemed to have been insta-killed by the Seaweed Monster at the start, but now he was hiding behind Spring Mustachio, quickly pulling his slingshot to attack the Seaweed Monster.

Spring Mustachio was using the rapier in his hand to block the seaweed tentacles, which were as hard as steel, ensuring the safety of them both.

After hiding and watching for a while, Rimuru felt it was quite boring; both sides were just chipping away at each other. However, it was this guy who had disturbed his rest time.

Better to resolve this quickly and then go back to rest. Incidentally, he would ask Tornado for a reward; there was something he had wanted Tornado to do for a long time.

Thinking of this, Rimuru no longer hid but stepped out from behind the wall and walked straight toward the Seaweed Monster.

"Oh? Another human? Seems like just a resident. Ah... I thought something interesting would show up, how disappointing. Those two humans over there are also very boring, just doing the same things over and over. I'm so let down."

The Seaweed Monster spoke in a tone that looked down on Golden Ball and Spring Mustachio. "Whatever, let's wrap this up quickly and go check out other places."

As it spoke, two strands of seaweed quickly snaked through the drainage channels on both sides of the road to get behind Golden Ball and Spring Mustachio, seemingly intending to insta-kill them.

However, just as the seaweed wrapped around their legs and was about to lift them up and slam them onto the ground, the two strands of seaweed snapped.

The Seaweed Monster, Golden Ball, and Spring Mustachio all looked at Rimuru, who was holding a pink, shimmering longsword.

"It's really a hassle. Has anyone ever told you that you talk too much?" Rimuru said, walking toward the Seaweed Monster step by step.

The Seaweed Monster suddenly wore an expression of great interest. It thought it was just an ordinary resident, but it turned out to be an interesting fellow! Far more interesting than those two pieces of trash over there. Quick, quick, please me with a battle!!

Thinking this, a perverted smile appeared on its face.

However, in the next moment, the Seaweed Monster saw its own body standing on the ground. Huh? What's going on? Why am I flying? The faces of those two pieces of trash over there are also filled with shock. What shocking thing did they see? I'm really curious.

"Ho—" Just as it uttered a single word, the Seaweed Monster's head, severed and sent flying by Rimuru, fell heavily to the ground. Its body, which had been standing just a moment ago, also collapsed with a thud.

"Hey, are you two okay?" Rimuru dissipated the longsword he had molded using Poway God and looked up at Golden Ball and Spring Mustachio, who were staring with wide mouths and eyes in perfect unison, and asked them.

"Could they have gone stupid? Whose fault would that be?" Rimuru looked at the dazed pair, his brow furrowing slightly under his mask, instantly feeling that things had become even more troublesome.

"Do you remember who you are? Hey." Rimuru shouted at the two of them again. Hearing the shout, the two regained their senses and looked at the masked Little fellow in front of them, whom they didn't recognize.

"Cough, we're fine. Thank you." Spring Mustachio sheathed his rapier and gave Rimuru a gentlemanly bow.

"It's fine as long as you're okay. Hurry up and leave."

"Who are you? Can you let us know your name!" Golden Ball shouted immediately upon seeing Rimuru about to leave.

"Just a passing Slime. There's no need to remember my name." Rimuru made a joke at them and walked away quickly toward home.

Leaving behind two bewildered A-Class heroes who completely failed to understand what Rimuru meant. Then, Spring Mustachio took out his phone, contacted the Hero Association, and reported what had just happened.

"That's the rookie A-Class Hero, Rimuru. Her personality seems to be like that, so don't worry about it. Since the matter has been resolved by Rimuru, just come back and report."

While the higher-ups were shocked by how clean Rimuru's actions were, they still gave the two a brief explanation of Rimuru's identity.

Hearing the higher-ups say this, the two were relieved, hung up the phone, and left City Z. They never expected that a mere A-Class rookie would have such powerful combat strength. After all, that was a monster even two A-Class heroes working together couldn't defeat; its level must have been at least Demon Level.

To be resolved so easily by Rimuru as if it were child's play—could this be the reason why Tornado's attitude toward Rimuru was so good?

The higher-ups of the Hero Association couldn't figure it out, but it was ultimately a good thing for a high-combat-power individual to appear among the heroes. However, they had to fully grasp the information.

On the other side, Rimuru, who had already returned home, slumped onto the sofa and even pulled Mosquito Girl, who was in the kitchen checking what to have for lunch, over to rest his head on her lap.

After lying there for a while, Rimuru let go of his "pillow," Mosquito Girl, and let her go prepare lunch. He then reached out for his phone to send a message to the Hero Association.

"Mission accomplished. Have Tornado talk to me." He sent the message in a very arrogant tone.

Over on Tornado's end, she had also heard about Rimuru's situation and raised an eyebrow. She hadn't expected her to have such strong combat power. It seemed like rising to S-Class wouldn't be difficult; she would likely be a colleague soon.

A secretary from the Hero Association walked up to Tornado and, with a trembling voice, relayed the message Rimuru had just sent.

It had really been a long time since Tornado had encountered someone so arrogant. She grew more and more interested in Rimuru and casually tossed aside Rimuru's registration records at the Hero Association.

"From now on, I will personally handle Rimuru." After Tornado finished speaking, she left the room, reached into her pocket for her private phone, and her thumbs flew across the screen. This was Rimuru's private number, which Tornado had just noted down.

"Who is it?" Rimuru was eating a chicken leg Mosquito Girl had just fried when he heard his phone ring. Looking at the number, it was an unfamiliar person, but he habitually swiped to answer.

"Tornado, where are you? Didn't you want a reward? I'll give you one." Tornado floated in mid-air, legs crossed, speaking to Rimuru in a leisurely tone.

"Ah, Tornado. Wait for me in front of the largest mall in City A. I'll be there in twenty minutes." Rimuru took another bite of the chicken leg and said to Tornado on the other end of the phone.

"I'll only give you twenty minutes. If you're late, I'm leaving." As Tornado spoke, she took the lead in hanging up. A mischievous smile appeared on her small face. "You hung up on me before, so this time I'll hang up first, hahaha!"

Tornado spoke in a very happy tone as she flew toward the largest mall, considering it revenge for Rimuru hanging up on her before.

But what she didn't know was that Rimuru didn't care at all. After eating a few more chicken legs, he wiped his hands, put away his phone, and asked Mosquito Girl, "I'm going to City A. Do you want anything? Should I bring something back for you?"

Mosquito Girl thought for a moment. "Then could Rimuru-sama help me bring back a bottle of soy sauce and some seafood? Thank you for your hard work, Rimuru-sama."

Rimuru waved his hand at Mosquito Girl, grabbed his keys, and headed out to City A to find that tsundere Little Loli.

Tornado floated in mid-air with a displeased look, checking the time on her phone. Damn it! That fellow Rimuru is actually late! Looking at her phone, she was already five minutes late.

She wanted to turn around and leave, but she was worried that Rimuru wouldn't find her and would get anxious, and then go around spreading rumors that Tornado didn't keep her promises or something.

"Aaaah!! This is so annoying!" Tornado scratched her hair in frustration. Even though she was unhappy, she could only wait.

Before long, Rimuru walked straight up to Tornado, nibbling on a marshmallow. "I'm Rimuru." As he spoke, he handed over an untouched marshmallow from his other hand.

Seeing the marshmallow and Rimuru's cute little face, Tornado couldn't even vent her anger. She hadn't eaten something like this in a very, very long time.

Tornado really hadn't expected that the real Rimuru would be even cuter than in the photos—ten times, a hundred times, a thousand times cuter!!

"Hmph, since you brought me a gift, I won't hold your lateness against you."

Tornado tilted her chin up tsunderely and reached out for the marshmallow Rimuru handed her, looking like "see how generous I am."

Rimuru blinked and looked at Tornado. "Was this Little Loli this tsundere in the original series? I don't think so." He fell into deep thought for a moment.

"Tell me, what is your condition?" Tornado also took a secret bite of the marshmallow, not noticing Rimuru's suspicious gaze.

"The condition is that for one month, you must be on call and fulfill my requests." Rimuru finished his marshmallow and tossed the stick into a trash can.

"Ha?!!! Are you daydreaming? You want me to be your servant!? You must be dreaming!" Tornado instantly bristled and spoke to Rimuru in an extremely displeased tone.

"You said it yourself, anything goes. I'm not asking you to kill anyone or violate your moral compass, and I'm not going to do anything to you, so why such a big reaction?" Rimuru spread his hands casually with an indifferent expression.
