Chapter 69 - Chapter 69

Chapter 69

However, the conference room was deathly silent.

Everyone stared at Yang Jian in shock—even Deadpool, for once, kept his mouth shut.

Coulson hesitated: "Boss, won't this plan provoke the military?"

Maria frowned: "Hulk may never be able to appear in the United States again."

Captain America spoke gravely: "Isn't this plan a bit too insane?"

Yang Jian smiled.

"Insane?"

He stood up, hands braced on the table.

"The U.S. government? That's all."

"If I want them to exist, they exist."

"If I don't want them to exist, today I can storm the White House, kill the President, and replace him with someone obedient."

"Nuclear bombs can't threaten me. Tell me—why should we fear them?"

Yang Jian's expression remained calm. Forget nuclear bombs—even if every nuke on Earth were combined, it wouldn't matter.

Maria's pupils shrank sharply: "You're not even afraid of nuclear weapons?!"

Natasha gave a light laugh: "Captain Marvel was already killed by the boss. How could he possibly fear nukes?"

Captain America and Maria froze simultaneously: "Captain Marvel? Who's that?"

Deadpool immediately raised his hand excitedly: "I know! A guy who can destroy planets! Space cop!"

He leaned sleazily toward Yang Jian: "Didn't expect you actually killed her? I've disliked her for a long time!"

Yang Jian ignored him, sat back down, and said calmly:

"The plan is set."

"Coulson, you handle the negotiation."

"Natasha, Clint—you two escort Banner."

"As for General Ross…"

A mocking smile curved his lips.

"I'm really looking forward to his expression."

Deadpool jumped up excitedly, hands on hips, mask's white eye-pieces stretched wide in exaggeration.

"This plan is something Deadpool loves! We're air-dropping the Hulk straight into his father-in-law's backyard? This is even more exciting than Fast & Furious! General Ross's face is gonna be better than Thanos after the snap!"

Yang Jian gave him a flat glance.

"If negotiations fail and you can't bring Banner back, contact me."

He paused: "I'll handle it personally."

Before the words finished, his figure suddenly blurred. The air trembled slightly. The next second—

Shua!

Yang Jian had vanished from the spot, leaving only a faint ripple in the air.

Deadpool looked around dramatically: "Whoa! Lightspeed teleport? Way faster than a taxi!"

In the conference room, everyone exchanged glances.

Coulson took a deep breath and knocked on the table to refocus attention.

"Alright, mission begins."

Deadpool immediately raised his hand: "Deadpool applying for chief negotiator position! I'm super good at talking!"

Natasha raised an eyebrow: "You sure you won't piss Banner off so much he Hulks out immediately?"

Deadpool spread his hands: "That'd actually save time! We were gonna throw him anyway!"

Captain America helplessly held his forehead: "Better let Coulson handle it."

Deadpool muttered unhappily: "You're all just jealous of my charisma!"

Maria Hill calmly pulled up the mission panel.

"Quinjet is ready. Brazilian military surveillance shows Hulk currently at the edge of the Amazon rainforest."

Clint picked up his long knife: "Hope Dr. Banner cooperates."

Deadpool cut in: "If not, we knock him out and stuff him in the plane! Boss already said—talk if possible, force if not!"

Coulson sighed: "Let's move. Try to resolve peacefully."

Deadpool bounced along behind the group, muttering nonstop.

"Deadpool Agent's first mission! Should I vlog it? Deadpool & Hulk: Romantic Airdrop? Views guaranteed to explode!"

Natasha didn't turn: "One more word and I'll drop you from the plane later."

Deadpool clutched his chest: "Whoa! Natasha's fierce! But I like it!"

Captain America shook his head: "I suddenly understand why the boss dumped him on us."

Deadpool proudly flashed a peace sign: "Because Deadpool is the soul of the team!"

Everyone: "..."

Meanwhile

Yang Jian tore through New York's sky at supersonic speed. The world around him appeared frozen.

His thoughts drifted slightly.

Banner's matter should be fine with them handling it.

Though with Deadpool… hope he doesn't screw up the mission.

A barely noticeable smile tugged at his lips. Whatever—even if it fails, it doesn't matter. He hadn't fought seriously in a while anyway. Might as well see if Hulk has improved.

His figure sliced through the clouds, racing toward the villa.

0.3 seconds later

Yang Jian appeared at the villa entrance, sunset glow falling across his shoulders.

He looked up at the living room window and smiled.

Nice one, Bumblebee—sneaking around like that.

Bumblebee had his mechanical head craned through the window, staring intently at the TV.

His eyes flickered with the program content—like a child peeking at cartoons from outside.

Yang Jian walked over and knocked lightly on his car door.

"If you want to watch, just come inside. Why sneak around like a ghost?"

Bumblebee jolted, turned to see Yang Jian, and immediately played cheerful electronic music.

"Yang! You're back!"

His vocal processor output smooth speech—no more mechanical stuttering.

"Thanks to you, my voice system is fully repaired!"

Yang Jian patted his hood: "No big deal."

In the living room

Mikaela was lazily curled on the sofa watching a comedy show, laughing from time to time.

Wanda sat beside her, scarlet chaos magic swirling around her fingers.

An apple in her palm constantly shifted shapes—from five-pointed star to heart, finally even morphing into a mini Yang Jian figure.

Suddenly, both women looked up at the same time!

"Yang?!"

Mikaela flipped off the sofa. Wanda's apple snapped back to normal.

The two rushed to the door almost simultaneously, surrounding Yang Jian and looking him over.

"Zombie virus? Any injuries?" Mikaela pinched his arm.

"I told you he'd be fine!" Wanda sighed in relief, though worry still lingered in her eyes.

Yang Jian opened his arms with a smile and pulled both women into an embrace.

"What, scared I'd come back as a zombie and bite you?"

Wanda laughed: "Of course we were worried! Even though logically we knew nothing there could hurt you."

Mikaela buried her face in his shoulder and mumbled: "Good that you're back."

The three returned to the living room. Wanda flicked her finger; red wine from the cabinet floated over and poured neatly into glasses.

Yang Jian took a glass, leaned back on the sofa, and asked: "Any new developments lately?"

"Helen left for the company early," Wanda said, using magic to float the fruit platter to the coffee table.

"Your biotech company with Tony is exploding globally. Orders for healing and regeneration tech are skyrocketing—she's been so busy she hasn't even had time to step into the lab these past few days."

Mikaela counted on her fingers: "Last week she made the Time magazine cover—headline: Rewriting Human Medical History."

She winked mischievously: "But Helen said if she keeps working like this, she'll have to learn Banner's transformation trick."

Yang Jian laughed: "Busy is normal. Early stage needs someone to hold the fort."

He took a sip of wine. At that moment—

The TV news suddenly cut to an urgent bulletin.

"Half an hour ago, conflict between Brazilian military and Hulk escalated! Several neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro damaged!"

The footage showed Hulk rampaging through the city, tank shells hitting his back without leaving a mark.

Yang Jian watched with interest—Hulk was basically a walking city destroyer.

Wanda and Mikaela both turned to him at the same time.

"Yang, you mentioned wanting to recruit Hulk before—how's that going?" Wanda asked curiously.

Yang Jian set down his glass, a playful glint in his eyes.

"No rush. Coulson and the others are already on it. Let them try first."

He reached out and wrapped an arm around both women's shoulders: "As for now—I'm hungry. Who's cooking tonight?"

Mikaela immediately raised her hand: "I'll grill steak!"

Wanda excitedly shouted: "Then I'll magically bake apple pie!"
