I now had my third skill,

"Mana Blade"

The description was limited and the skill had two abilities,

First Ability - Mana Blade: Imbue your mana into your blade to increase it's strength and penetration. Breaks defenses and causes a bleeding effect.

Second Ability - Mana Crescent Blade: Slash with a blade imbued with mana mist, creating an arc of mana to be sent at the target.

I got to my feet and attempted to draw my sword from the beast's chest. It was stuck….

I tugged and tugged until finally it gave way and the putrid smell of dead wolf filled the air.

I covered my nose,

God it smells...I'm not sure if there is a god in this world. Though if there is a devil like Akuma I would like to believe there is a god too.

I took a stance with my blade out extended to the side of me.

How do I even bring mana into my blade… I haven't tried other than my eyes...

Even though this was a world where magic was normal I still felt a bit goofy trying to use it.

After half an hour of trying, nothing was happened despite my attempts.

What do I do..

I once again recalled how I sent mana to my eyes, it originated from the heat within my chest and stomach.

Suddenly I felt power originating from my abdomen shooting through my body and down my sword hand.

My blade began to glow with red mist, a radiating light red aura steamed from the blade, as it was surrounded with mana.

*Poof!*

The mana burst from the blade like a balloon that had too much air.

A pain filled my head while my sword hand began to tremble.

This is more difficult than I imagined..

I fell on my ass smiling and pinching myself.

Oh my god, I can really use magic, even if I suck at it for now…

My mana had dropped from 100 to 80 and slowly began to recharge.

A recharge rate of one mana per second. So I need to rest for almost two minutes if I drain my mana fully in a fight. I wonder how much mana it takes to fully use the ability.

I stood to my feet with my sword in hand, filled with inspiration and a desire to become stronger.

I began channeling my mana into my sword hand and somewhat quickly the blade surrounded itself in a light red mist again. As the mist covered the majority of the blade I felt my hand begin to tremble.

*Poof*

The mana once again burst from the blade scattering the red mana mist.

Gah!... Why does this keep happening? I wonder If I need to measure the amount of mana I put into the blade. This is going to take some practice.

After many more tests I figured out that I could control the amount and speed in which mana covered the blade.

That I could only cover the blade until it reached the tip, any more and the blade aura would burst out, any less and the blade would lose its added mana.

It's easier than the first time…. Though I need to practice more in the future and build muscle memory on how to fill it the right amount every time.

I slashed at a nearby branch and it cut like butter, with the sap of the tree leaking out.

This skill has a second ability... lets see...

Not knowing if I needed to chant the ability I filled my blade with mana and yelled

"Mana Crescent Blade!" while swiping my sword.

A wave of mana flew from my blade a few feet from where I slashed in the form of a crescent moon of blue, and my mana went down from 100 to 50.

Incredible! Like a crescent moon it left the edge of my blade flying towards my target. It must have worked, the mana cost was significantly higher.

After a few more tests I figured out even more…

This is good information to know, first I don't need to say the name of the ability like a weirdo. Second, I can channel a spell and get some of the cost back If I don't end up using it.

I looked to the defeated wolves with a sense of accomplishment, I had done it, my first kills.

I can return to the town with my prey and claim a reward from the guild.

What do I do with the wolves now though.. And the gnome that died. Do I just leave him here….

The gamer within got the better of me and I started to pat down the sides of the Gnome.

Finding a red decorative pouch that rattled like change, along with a tiny iron dirk that was sheathed on his belt.

A gold pouch!

I contemplated and looked down….

I could really use this money…

I looked all around. I was alone, I stashed the pouch in my shirt's fold for safe keeping. When suddenly I heard branches crunching and footsteps coming from the forest's edge…

I turned with my blade, finding two more gnomes cautiously approaching.

Standing no taller than 2 feet they looked like children with beards and brightly colored hair.

One of the two gnomes with the green beard yelled out in despair.

"Harry! It's Harry! he ….. You… YOU KILLED HIM!"

They raised their tiny weapons towards me,

"Stay where you are murderer!"

The other gnome said,

"I should go to the town and let the guards know!"

The one with a yellow beard turned and began to ran away.

I yelled angrily towards them,

"I didn't kill your friend the wolves did!"

The gnomes snapped back,

"Yeah right, Harry said he was a high level adventurer, you must have attacked him after he killed the wolves! Harry wouldn't die like that… He… He was Harry!"

What should I do? If I let them leave then they will tell the guards that I killed their friend… Then I'm going to be hunted like a dog at level 2. Thrown in jail or at worse, beheaded as a murderer… They won't listen to reason, they're grieving…. Rightfully so but that's no excuse to blame me, as suspecting as I look standing over his recently looted corpse….
