Chapter 2 - 2: Dangerous game

A mechanical female voice sounded.

[Cold Nation Chosen One violated Rule Two — making a sound and opening eyes during prayer.]

[Judgment: Terminated.]

The remaining Chosen Ones turned pale.

Cold sweat soaked their backs.

Everyone held their breath.

Hearts pounded like drums.

Inside the Dragon Kingdom livestream.

The chat froze for two seconds, then exploded.

[Holy shit! Gone in an instant! Not even bones left!]

[Too brutal... One wrong step is death!]

[Too scary, I'm covering my eyes.]

[But... Sister Annie is really pretty.]

[White stockings and thick thighs are top tier...]

[Are you brain-dead upstairs? That's a ghost! She'll chop you in half!]

Chen Shi felt the chill of death.

He swallowed hard.

The manic laughter stopped.

Annie smoothed her skirt.

Her voice regained its calm.

"Rule Three: Absolutely no running anywhere in the manor."

"If you encounter 'special circumstances', stand still and blow the whistle."

Chen Shi's neck went cold.

A heavy object appeared on his chest.

It was a whistle.

Others breathed heavier.

The Dragon Kingdom livestream blew up:

[Special circumstances? Dangers beyond the rules?]

A gold official comment floated by:

[It's the worst-case scenario. Multiple anomalous factions exist.]

[Some monsters ignore the Eight-Foot Lady's rules!]

[Fatal dangers lie beyond the rules. This is Hell difficulty!]

Inside the church, Annie continued reading.

"Rule Four: Staff photos are posted at major building entrances."

"Please memorize our faces~"

In the dark, Chen Shi's mind raced.

Rule Three and Rule Four connected.

Memorizing faces meant "imposters" existed.

Meeting fake staff was a "special circumstance".

Under the blood-red halo.

Annie's voice remained seductive.

"Rule Five: Regarding meals. Random broadcasts twice between 9 AM and 6 PM."

"Arrive at the cafeteria within ten minutes of the notice."

Chen Shi's heart sank.

Ten minutes?

If at the manor's edge, running was required.

But this violated "Rule Three: No running".

It was a chain death trap.

Annie's voice echoed.

"Rule Six: During meals, do not look out the window. Do not respond to sounds. Stay calm."

Chen Shi's brow twitched.

No looking, no listening, no responding.

Sanity-shattering horrors must happen outside.

"Rule Seven: Lodging. Four to a room. Dorms are absolutely safe from 9 PM to 9 AM."

"During this time, once everyone is in, never open the door."

"Rule Eight: Ensure your roommates are your roommates."

An eerie, redundant statement.

The Caucasian woman beside him stopped breathing for a second.

"Rule Nine: Tour freely. Red doors are forbidden. If discovered..."

Annie paused.

She let out a light laugh.

"Hehe."

"Rule Ten: Toilets are squatters. If you hear weird noises, change stalls immediately."

Annie bowed slightly.

She lifted her skirt in a curtsy.

A fake smile hung on her face.

"Good luck. Prayer lasts twenty minutes. Follow the rules~"

High heels clicked away.

Fading into the darkness.

The church fell dead silent.

Only the wall clock ticked.

Livestream comments rolled.

Fear spread.

[Rule Ten is messed up! Change stalls if you hear a noise?]

[Rule Eight is scarier. Turning around at night to find it's not human...]

[Eating is the deadliest! Walk and you die, run and you die. A paradox trap!]

[What are the special circumstances?]

Discussions deepened.

Despair grew.

Dragon Kingdom Command Center.

The air was heavy.

The Director furrowed his brows.

His palms sweated.

"Ten rules." His voice was hoarse.

"Ten rules right at the start."

The Chief Analyst looked ashen.

"Past dungeons gave three to five at most."

"More rules mean more death triggers."

"Ten intertwined rules, logic traps, multiplied danger."

Foreign IPs flooded the Dragon Kingdom livestream.

[So what if there are ten rules? Our Navy SEALs can survive blindfolded.]

[Cherry Blossom Nation sends regards. When this weakling Chen Shi dies, we'll take Dragon Kingdom's resources.]

[Hilarious. Wiped out last time, now you send a relationship counselor?]

[Dragon Kingdom players are weak as always. Popping champagne early!]

The screen was full of mockery.

Dragon Kingdom viewers gritted their teeth, unable to retort.

Compared to foreign elites and geniuses.

Chen Shi was too ordinary.

In this meat grinder.

He had no chance.

In the dark, Chen Shi reviewed the ten rules.

Lethal traps everywhere.

But there was a lifeline.

No rule restricted him from "conquering" female anomalies.

Avoiding blind spots, the system could work.

The relief lasted a second.

Chen Shi remembered Annie was S-Class.

Humanity built a power scale with lives.

S-Class meant "Natural Disaster".

These monsters didn't need rules to kill.

They were walking weapons.

If they lost control.

They could slaughter a city overnight.

Even without rule constraints.

Annie could crush him like an ant.

Just then.

A rustling friction echoed in the church.

Faint at first, then dense.

Like nails scratching a chalkboard.

A bloody stench surged like a tide.

Flooding their noses.

The Chosen Ones kept their eyes squeezed shut.

Enduring unknown terror in the dark.

Outside, the livestream saw everything.

The Dragon Kingdom chat drowned in exclamation marks.

[Holy shit! What the hell are those?!]
