Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: In-Depth Study

The night in West City was never truly quiet, especially for the young heiress of Capsule Corporation.

Neon lights outside painted the technological metropolis in dazzling cyberpunk colors. Hover cars streaked across the glass skyline like wandering comets.

But Bulma had no mood to admire the night view of her own city.

She sat on the enormous circular bed in her bedroom—large enough to fit five people.

Her hand clutched the collar of her silk bathrobe tightly, and her toes curled nervously, tracing awkward patterns in the thick carpet.

The sound of running water in the bathroom suddenly stopped.

Each droplet falling onto the tile echoed like a hammer striking her heart.

Bulma felt her brain overheating. Even designing anti-gravity engines had never been this stressful.

If it were the old Krillin—the scrappy little bald kid without a nose—she could have easily teased him like an older sister.

But now…

The bathroom door slid open.

Hot steam rolled outward.

Krillin walked out wearing only a bath towel.

His body, reshaped by the Saitama template, looked like a sculpture carved by Michelangelo.

These weren't bulky gym muscles built with protein powder, but lean lines filled with explosive strength—like a cheetah ready to spring.

Water droplets rolled down his broad chest, slipped through the ridges of his abs, and disappeared beneath the edge of the towel.

Bulma subconsciously swallowed.

Her throat felt dry.

"What? Haven't seen enough yet?" Krillin dried his bald head while casually walking toward the bed.

He smelled faintly of soap, but beneath it lingered the unmistakable aura of a warrior.

"W-Who's looking?!" Bulma quickly turned her head away, her cheeks burning bright red.

"This Young Miss was just thinking about... about new battle suit materials!"

"Oh? Really?" Krillin tossed aside the towel and knelt on the bed with one knee.

The mattress sank slightly.

Bulma suddenly felt as if a mountain had appeared beside her.

"That's perfect then. I happen to have a research project regarding 'human endurance limits.' I wonder if Dr. Bulma would like to participate personally."

Krillin's voice carried a low, playful rasp.

He placed one hand on the bed beside her, leaning slightly forward so that she was completely surrounded by his shadow.

Bulma felt trapped.

Before her eyes was his solid chest.

In her ears echoed his steady heartbeat.

Her genius-level intellect completely shut down.

Only instinct remained.

"You... you rogue!" Her voice softened into a whisper.

"Acting so arrogant right after winning the championship."

"Championship?" Krillin chuckled softly.

His fingers lifted a strand of Bulma's blue hair near her ear and slowly wrapped it around his finger.

"That trophy is just for outsiders to see."

He gently brushed her cheek, "The real reward is right here."

His hand moved slowly down, sliding along her neck before pausing at the loose ribbon of her bathrobe.

Bulma trembled.

Her eyes lifted to meet his.

They were misty with shyness… but also determination.

"Krillin..."

"Hmm?"

"Will you... be good to me for the rest of your life?"

It was a simple question.

But it was the final wall protecting the heart of this genius girl.

Krillin didn't answer immediately.

He lowered his head and looked directly into her eyes.

The usual teasing expression disappeared.

What remained was seriousness—and dominance.

"Listen carefully, Bulma."

His arm wrapped around her back.

"In this world… and even in this universe… no one is stronger than me. As long as I'm alive, no one will ever make you suffer even the slightest injustice.

Aliens, conquerors, even gods—if they dare touch you, they'll have to step over my body first."

Those words carried far more weight than sweet talk.

Bulma felt something warm and powerful fill her chest.

Security.

"Idiot..." She sniffed softly and wrapped her arms around Krillin's neck.

"Who wants you to die? Just stay alive… work for me forever… be my bodyguard and..."

"And what?" Krillin leaned closer.

"And also... love me."

The final words vanished between their lips.

Krillin kissed her again.

This time it wasn't a bold declaration like in the arena.

This kiss was deeper, warmer—like he wanted to merge her into his very existence.

The ribbon of Bulma's bathrobe slipped loose.

The lights suddenly felt unnecessary.

Krillin flicked his fingers, sending a tiny burst of Ki toward the switch.

The room fell into darkness.

Only faint neon light filtered through the curtains.

[Ding! Host detected engaging in high-intensity emotional exchange.]

[Charm evaluation in progress... Mutual favorability: MAX]

[Passive skill "Muscle Control" has activated Gentle Mode to prevent accidental injury.]

[S-Rank talent "Beast Intuition" analyzing target reactions...]

Krillin silently cursed the System for interrupting and muted the notifications.

Right now, he didn't need the System.

Only instinct.

For West City, this was just another ordinary night.

But for Bulma, it became the longest—and most unforgettable—night of her life.

The brilliant scientist who commanded laboratories and corporations vanished.

In her place remained a woman completely lost in love and passion.

From shy resistance…

To eager response…

To breathless pleas and tearful laughter.

Krillin's stamina was simply absurd.

The Saitama template granted more than just strength—it granted endless energy.

Like a perpetual engine, he carried Bulma again and again into clouds of ecstasy.

"N-No… I can't anymore… Krillin… are you a monster!"

"We just started. Who was it that wanted battle suit testing data? The sample size can't be too small."

"I was wrong… I won't say that again… mmph!"

Only when the eastern sky turned pale did their "celebration battle" finally end.

The room was filled with warm silence.

Bathrobes, pillows, and sheets were scattered everywhere.

Bulma curled up against Krillin like a sleepy kitten, her body marked faintly with red love marks.

She didn't even have the strength to move.

Krillin leaned against the headboard, one arm around her smooth shoulders while idly playing with her hair.

Despite the entire night of activity, he still felt energetic.

His Ki flowed even more smoothly than before.

[Ding! Hidden achievement unlocked: "Conquering the Scientist."]

[Reward: All Attributes +50]

[Strength: 300]

[Speed: 300]

[Physique: 300]

[Special Item Obtained: Capsule — Gravity Room Blueprint (Improved Version)]

[Charm increased to: 12]

Krillin glanced at the panel and closed it with satisfaction.

Bulma stirred weakly in his arms.

"Water..."

Krillin immediately handed her the prepared warm water and carefully helped her drink.

After a few sips, she looked slightly better.

She gazed up at him.

Her face turned red again remembering the madness of last night.

"Are you a beast," She buried her face in his chest.

"My waist is about to break."

"That's because you never exercise," Krillin pinched her cheek mischievously.

"How about doing one hundred push-ups with me every morning?"

"Drop dead!"

Bulma bit his chest, leaving two neat rows of teeth marks.

After a while she spoke again softly.

"Hey, Krillin."

"Hmm?"

"When you were eating dinner with my parents last night… you said we'd get married after finding the Dragon Balls," Her voice grew quiet.

"Were you serious? Or were you just saying it casually?"

Krillin stopped smiling.

He rested his chin on her head and held her closer.

"Of course I'm serious. I might joke about small things, but not about something like that. When we come back from our journey, I'll formally ask Dr. Brief for your hand."

He paused slightly, "We'll have the grandest wedding. We'll invite Master Roshi, Goku, Tien Shinhan, and your parents.

I want the whole world to know that the daughter of Capsule Corporation is my wife."

Bulma lifted her head, her eyes shining.

"And Oolong and Puar too."

"Of course."

"And lots of strawberry cake."

"I'll buy as much as you want."

"And I'll manage the family's money."

Krillin shrugged, "It's all yours. I'm not interested in money anyway. Just make sure I get fed."

"You said it!" Bulma laughed through tears and leaned forward to kiss him.

"It's a promise now. No taking it back."

"Never."

Morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, bathing the two of them in warm golden light.
