Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Piccolo's Breakdown

The sea breeze, carrying a salty, damp scent, gently brushed against the pink outer walls of Kame House.

Then, without warning, the air suddenly twisted in a strange distortion.

There was no sound, no flash of light, and no visible effect.

Krillin simply appeared on the beach out of thin air, holding Trunks in one arm.

"Is this Instant Transmission? It's way faster than an airplane, just a little dizzying."

Trunks shook his head, his black hair gleaming in the sunlight.

He wore a small jacket with the word BADMAN printed on it—clearly Bulma's weird taste—along with a pair of loose martial arts pants.

"Once you learn to sense Ki, this move is just a matter of thought."

Krillin casually adjusted his collar.

He was dressed very casually today, wearing a white T-shirt and jeans. He looked nothing like a martial artist and more like a tourist on vacation.

"Hey! Krillin! You're here too!" A familiar shout came from the sky.

The Flying Nimbus, leaving a golden trail behind it, shot down from the clouds.

Son Goku's familiar smiling face appeared, along with a small boy in his arms wearing a red cap with the Four-Star Dragon Ball on it.

"Goku, long time no see."

Krillin smiled as he greeted him, his gaze subtly sweeping over little Gohan, who was curled up nervously.

The Flying Nimbus stopped abruptly over the sand, and the sudden halt nearly sent Gohan tumbling off. Goku quickly caught him by the tail.

"Gohan came too? Still pretty... quiet."

Krillin stepped forward, while Trunks stood coolly beside his father with his hands in his pockets, staring at Gohan with the same cool expression.

"Yeah, Chi-Chi's strict. She's always making him study."

Krillin had occasionally taken Gohan out over the past year, but those chances had been rare, and even that had made Chi-Chi uneasy.

Thinking about it, Krillin couldn't help shaking his head.

Goku scratched the back of his head and placed Gohan on the ground.

"Gohan, say hello to Uncle Krillin."

Gohan timidly hid behind Goku's leg, revealing only one eye. His voice was so soft it was barely louder than a mosquito.

"U-Uncle Krillin."

"Tch, still so timid," Trunks muttered quietly. His voice was soft, but still loud enough for Gohan to hear.

Gohan shrank back even more.

"Haha, this kid's just shy around strangers."

Master Roshi walked out of the house while leaning on his cane. He wore his signature sunglasses, and his floral shirt was open, revealing his bony chest.

"Krillin, you've become more and more impressive these past few years. Even I can't sense your Ki anymore."

"That's just to avoid scaring everyone."

Krillin shrugged, while his fully upgraded AR Data Vision automatically activated as he looked at Roshi.

[Name: Master Roshi (Turtle Hermit)]

[Combat Power: 139]

[Status: Lustful Heart Undimmed (Currently staring at Turtle and wondering whether it can be stewed)]

"By the way, where's Bulma? Didn't she come?" Goku asked as he looked around.

"She's at home doing research. She said she's developing some kind of auxiliary medicine for Trunks. I don't really get it."

Krillin casually made up an excuse.

In truth, Bulma was at home researching how to dismantle and analyze the spherical spaceship that was about to arrive.

While everyone chatted happily, one strand of Krillin's Multiple Thinking split away and locked onto a wilderness area thousands of kilometers away.

There, an evil and violent Ki was moving at high speed.

On a desolate rocky plateau, the wind howled wildly.

Piccolo sat cross-legged on top of a massive boulder, his white cape fluttering loudly in the wind.

His eyes were tightly shut, and beads of sweat covered his forehead as he meditated.

Five years ago, after losing to that bald guy—no, after losing to Krillin—the shame had gnawed at his heart day and night like a venomous snake.

"Damn it... No matter how much I train, that feeling of an unfathomable gap just won't go away."

Piccolo suddenly opened his eyes and smashed the rock beneath him with a punch.

At that moment, his sharp hearing caught something unusual.

It wasn't the wind.

It wasn't the roar of a beast.

It was a cold, murderous aura approaching at an unbelievable speed.

"Who's there?!" Piccolo spun around and immediately took a fighting stance.

A figure slowly descended from the sky.

It was a man with absurdly long black hair and strange brown-and-black armor.

A furry brown tail was wrapped around his waist, and the green lens over his left eye flickered with eerie data streams.

Raditz landed heavily, his boots crushing the gravel beneath his feet.

"Oh? There's actually someone with a decent combat power here," Raditz pressed a button on his scouter, and a contemptuous smile curled at his lips.

"Combat power 322... Is this what passes for an elite monster on this garbage planet?"

Piccolo's pupils shrank sharply.

Who is this guy?

That oppressive pressure... it felt like facing a walking humanoid tyrannosaurus.

And the way he looked at him it was like he was staring at livestock waiting to be slaughtered.

"Who are you? Looking to die?"

Even though Piccolo was alarmed, his pride as the former Demon King Piccolo wouldn't allow him to back down.

"Who I am isn't important."

Raditz folded his arms and didn't even bother to look directly at Piccolo.

"What's important is why a Namekian like you is on such a low-level planet. Did you flee here as a refugee too?"

"Namekian?" Piccolo froze for a split second before exploding in rage.

"Enough of your nonsense! Die!"

He suddenly raised his right hand, gathering all his Ki into his palm.

"Explosive Demon Wave!"

A thick blast of energy roared forward, carrying enough power to annihilate everything in its path as it shot straight toward Raditz.

Piccolo had held nothing back.

This attack was powerful enough to level a city.

Boom!!!

A violent explosion erupted, sending dust and rubble into the air as shattered rocks flew in every direction like bullets.

Piccolo panted heavily, staring fixedly at the center of the smoke.

"Did... did I get him?"

The dust slowly cleared.

Raditz was still standing exactly where he had been.

He had not moved even a single step.

He had simply raised one hand, his palm facing outward.

There wasn't even a speck of dust on him.

"That's it?" Raditz casually brushed off his hand as though he had just swatted away a fly.

"You kicked up all this dust. Were you trying to choke me to death?"

Piccolo froze.

Cold sweat dripped down his green skin, and his heart felt as though it had been crushed by an invisible hand.

Unharmed...

How was that possible?

That had been his full-power attack!

Beep beep beep...

Just as Raditz was about to casually dispose of this "green-skinned freak," his scouter suddenly beeped.

"Hmm? A stronger reaction from another direction."

Raditz glanced toward the direction displayed on the scouter.

A small island to the south.

"Combat power... 334? Now that's more like it. That must be Kakarot."

He lowered his hand and prepared to leave, not even sparing Piccolo another glance as he rose into the air.

"Consider yourself lucky, Namekian. I have business today, so I'll spare your miserable life."

With that, he turned into a streak of white light and vanished into the sky.

Piccolo's legs gave out, and he dropped to his knees.

That feeling of narrowly escaping death brought him no relief.

Instead, it brought him even deeper fear and humiliation.

"Monster... that's a real monster..."

At Kame House, the sound of the waves continued, but the smile on Krillin's face faded slightly.

"He's here," he said quietly.

"What's here?" Goku looked up in confusion while holding a crab and using it to tease Gohan.

The next second, a suffocatingly terrifying presence descended from the sky.

The bright sunlight seemed to dim under that pressure, and the air itself became heavy.

The seabirds fell silent.

Turtle withdrew into his shell.

Even the sound of the waves against the shore seemed to become cautious.

Thud.

A pair of brown combat boots landed heavily on the sand, leaving behind two deep impressions.

Raditz stood there, his long hair whipping wildly in the wind.

That brutal aura, forged by the battle-hardened Saiyan race, spread outward without restraint, pressing down on everyone's hearts like a mountain.

Everyone except Krillin and Trunks.

Krillin remained seated in his beach chair, calmly sipping tea, while Trunks curiously stared at this "hairy monster," looking as though he wanted to tug on that tail.

"Finally found you."

Raditz ignored everyone else and locked his gaze directly onto Son Goku.

"Kakarot."
