Beerus' eyes narrowed as his body dodged with ghost-like agility, easily avoiding a punch from Iwan. Iwan's fist whistled past his shoulder and slammed into the ring, leaving a deep crater. Immediately after, Beerus flickered again, evading an energy blast from the God of Destruction of the First Universe, Iwan. The energy orb hit the ground, exploding in a burst of blinding light.
Just then, Belmod attacked from the side, aiming a kick at Beerus' back with speed that defied reaction. Beerus bent low, his feet sliding across the ground as he spun away like a top, dodging layer after layer of attacks. His movements were smooth and natural, without a hint of panic.
"He dodged them all! Lord Beerus is incredible!" Goku stood on the platform, marveling at the sight, and couldn't help but clap. "Does Lord Beerus have a high level of mastery over Ultra Instinct too? To dodge that many attacks at once!"
"Yes, indeed. Lord Beerus has reached a very high level of mastery in Ultra Instinct. Handling a siege like this is no problem for him," Whis nodded slightly, his tone full of praise.
Hearing the compliments from Goku and Whis, the corners of Beerus' mouth curled up. His smile grew wider, and his inner pride swelled. It seemed he was still plenty strong; these guys couldn't even touch him.
Squeeze!
However, in the next moment, Mosco, the God of Destruction of the Third Universe, suddenly charged from the side. His mechanical arm extended instantly, snatching Beerus up like a mouse and gripping him tight.
Caught off guard, Beerus let out an involuntary "Meow!" as his smug expression froze, his eyes filled with shock.
"Oh, he got caught! Even Lord Beerus slips up sometimes," Goku remarked, sounding a bit too excited to be watching the show.
"That's because Lord Beerus hasn't mastered Ultra Instinct to its perfect state yet. Against a sudden ambush like that, he still can't react in time," Whis chuckled.
"Nice work, Mosco! As expected of the mechanical God of Destruction, you're fast!" Champa grinned, giving Mosco a thumbs-up.
"Hehehe! Let's see Beerus dodge now!" Quitela rubbed his fists together, walking toward Beerus step by step with an unfriendly glint in his eyes.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Immediately, Quitela, Rumsshi, and Champa—three Gods of Destruction—charged at Beerus together, their fists and energy attacks all aimed at the restrained God.
Beerus turned pale with fright. Using every ounce of strength he had, he braced his arms and forced open Mosco's giant mechanical hand.
Flicker!
Beerus vanished from the spot instantly. At the same time, the combined attacks of Quitela, Rumsshi, and Champa slammed directly into Mosco.
Energy exploded, fists connected, and Mosco's mechanical body was instantly dented and deformed. Poor Mosco, subjected to a triple-team combo from three Gods of Destruction, collapsed onto the ring. He lost all combat capability on the spot, unable to even emit his usual "beep-boop" mechanical sounds.
The remaining Gods of Destruction looked up and saw that Beerus had already zipped high into the air, hovering there and looking down at them with a smug grin. Not willing to give up, the others leaped after him, intent on continuing the siege.
However, when they reached the heights, they realized the person they had cornered wasn't Beerus at all—it was Champa. Beerus had pushed Champa out as a human shield at the last second!
The gathered Gods of Destruction were stunned. When exactly had Beerus swapped Champa into his place?
Beerus, meanwhile, was hiding underneath Mosco's mechanical body. With a cunning smile on his face, he shouted at the top of his lungs, "Hey, you idiots! I'm down here! Come and get me if you can!"
Whoosh!
Beerus raised his hand, and a massive sphere of lavender destruction energy condensed in his palm. He hurled it toward the Gods of Destruction flying in the air. The energy orb exploded mid-air, creating a massive shockwave.
BOOM!
Accompanied by an earth-shattering roar, the gods who had chased him were engulfed in the explosion. Smoke and dust billowed upward, obscuring the scene.
Zen-Oh, sitting on the highest platform, stared with wide eyes, looking a bit speechless. This wasn't a sparring match; it was just a chaotic brawl with no rhyme or reason.
"Lord Beerus is being a bit too ruthless. He's hitting them so hard... can they survive that? They won't be killed, will they?" Goku asked Whis with some concern as he watched the explosion below.
"They should be fine. A God of Destruction's life force is very resilient. An attack like that won't kill them; at most, they'll just take some damage," Whis said calmly.
When the smoke cleared, a pale blue protective barrier appeared around the attacked Gods of Destruction. It was Sidra, the God of Destruction of the Ninth Universe, who had released the barrier at the critical moment, blocking most of the attack.
"Phew... good thing I reacted fast, or we would have been in real trouble today," Sidra sighed with relief, wiping cold sweat from his forehead.
"Thanks, Sidra! If it weren't for you, we definitely would've been hurt!" Iwan quickly thanked him.
"Haha, when it comes to the speed of deploying barriers, I won't lose to any God of Destruction. It's my specialty..." Sidra laughed heartily, full of pride in his reaction speed.
However, just as Sidra finished laughing, Belmod suddenly lunged from behind him and kicked Sidra right in the back of the head. He was so fast that Sidra had no time to react.
Caught completely off guard, Sidra lost his balance and plummeted from the air like a meteor, crashing onto the Universe 10 platform. The platform was dented by the impact, and Sidra lay there face-down, unable to recover for a long time.
"Sidra! Belmod, you actually sneak-attacked him!" Iwan cried out in shock, his eyes full of anger. They were just fine a second ago; why did they suddenly start attacking each other?
"My bad. He was just so full of openings, I couldn't help myself," Belmod smiled brightly, showing no guilt for the cheap shot.
"Belmod, you bastard! Taking advantage of someone like that... how low!" Iwan gritted his teeth, his energy starting to flare up.
"Beerus isn't the only opponent here, is he?" Belmod chuckled. "There can only be one strongest God of Destruction. This isn't the time for helping each other. If you want to win, you have to use any means necessary."
"Hahaha, exactly! That's the spirit! It's more fun when it's chaotic!" Quitela nodded in agreement, looking excited. "The group siege earlier was too boring!"
"In that case, from now on, it's a true battle royal," the Grand Minister said with a small smile.
"I'm so excited! I wonder what other great fights we'll see!" Zen-Oh sat on his high platform, hands on his chin, eyes sparkling. Even his leg-swinging speed had picked up.
"How will things turn out? It looks like this brawl will continue for a while," Whis said with a smile from the Universe 7 platform, his staff swaying slightly as if predicting the battle's flow.
"So that means we'll get to see even crazier stuff?" Goku grinned, rubbing his hands together. His eyes were glued to the ring, eager for even more intense combat.
High in the air, the chaos intensified. Belmod, the God of Destruction of the Eleventh Universe, suddenly stopped. He spread his arms and raised his hands, his palms glowing with lavender energy.
Suddenly, translucent energy spheres appeared around the remaining Gods of Destruction, enveloping them like bubbles and restricting their movements. The gods instantly lost control of their bodies, floating helplessly into the air as if pulled by invisible strings, unable to break free.
"Damn it! I got caught! What the hell is this thing!" Quitela cried out, struggling with all his might, but the energy spheres were incredibly sturdy and wouldn't break.
Snap!
In Belmod's hands, eight playing cards flashing with golden energy appeared, seemingly brimming with immense power.
"Wait, is this guy getting serious?" Iwan, the God of Destruction of the First Universe, was stunned, his eyes full of vigilance.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Belmod had no intention of holding back. With a flick of his wrist, the playing cards shot out like sharp blades toward the imprisoned gods, leaving golden afterimages in their wake. As soon as those eight cards were thrown, another eight appeared in his hands, firing off like a machine gun without pause.
One by one, the Gods of Destruction were hit, letting out cries of pain. The cards weren't just sharp; they carried a searing energy that felt both painful and numbing. Even Rumsshi, the God of Destruction of the Tenth Universe, had his giant elephant ear sliced open by a card, blood staining the edge of his ear.
"Bastard! That jerk! How dare he wound me!" Liquiir, the God of Destruction of the Eighth Universe, roared in fury. His energy surged wildly as he tried to break the sphere's binding.
Poof!
With a soft sound, eight more furry tails suddenly appeared behind Liquiir. Including his original one, a total of nine tails now lashed through the air, looking majestic. It turned out Liquiir was a Nine-Tailed Fox in his hidden form!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
From the tips of Liquiir's nine tails, red energy blasts fired simultaneously. The blasts rained down on Belmod like machine-gun fire, covering all of his escape routes. Belmod, surrounded by the blasts, had nowhere to hide. He was hit repeatedly like a sitting duck, letting out pained yelps as his body fell from the sky like a kite with a broken string, crashing into the ring and kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Belmod, you're done for, aren't you? You were so cocky a second ago! Now you know how strong I am!" Liquiir laughed maniacally, looking at Belmod in the dust.
"You're celebrating a bit too early, Liquiir."
Just then, Helles suddenly appeared behind Liquiir. A golden longbow had appeared in her hands, and she was already nocking an arrow, aiming it right at the back of Liquiir's head.
Liquiir's face went pale. Every hair on his body stood on end. He tried to turn and dodge, but his body was already locked on by Helles' energy, and he couldn't move a muscle.
Whoosh!
Helles released her fingers. The arrow shot out like a meteor, flying toward the back of Liquiir's head with a sharp piercing sound. In a moment of desperation, Liquiir managed to raise his arm to block the fatal blow.
Puncture!
The arrow's piercing power far exceeded Liquiir's imagination. It went right through his arm, the arrowhead grazing his temple before pinning itself deep into the ground far away, leaving a deep hole.
"Helles... you... you actually sneak-attacked me!" Liquiir was fuming, clutching his bleeding arm with eyes full of rage. He hadn't expected Helles to suddenly turn on him.
"Aaaaaah!"
Just then, Rumsshi could no longer contain his inner rage. He let out a series of deafening roars that echoed through the hall like claps of thunder. The sound was so powerful that the entire ring shook violently, and cracks began to appear in the stone floor.
Standing on the platform, Goku was shocked by the sound. He could feel the sheer energy within the roar, and it made his eardrums ache. Beside him, the Supreme Kai of Universe 7 couldn't help but cover his ears, his face turning pale as his body began to tremble.
"What's going on? My body... it feels like I can't move. It's like some invisible force is binding me," Goku muttered in shock. He tried to move, but his limbs had grown stiff, and he could barely maintain his standing posture.
Thud!
As he spoke, the Supreme Kai beside him could no longer hold out. He collapsed to the ground, unconscious, his breathing turning faint.
"Supreme Kai! Are you okay?" Goku quickly knelt down, trying to wake him up, only to find that even his own fingers were beginning to feel numb.
"That was a roar released by Lord Rumsshi, who possesses the loudest voice in the entire multiverse. This sound can cause temporary paralysis or even a blackout. With the Supreme Kai's level of strength, he definitely couldn't withstand it and has fainted," Whis explained with a smile.
Goku looked around and saw that indeed, on the platforms of every universe, the Supreme Kais were collapsing one by one, losing consciousness. Only a few of the stronger ones were barely holding on, though their faces were deathly pale as they clutched their ears tightly.
"Even the Gods of Destruction are barely managing to stay standing. It seems this sonic attack affects them too," Whis added, his gaze sweeping over the gods on the ring. While they hadn't fainted, they were all frowning and covering their ears with pained expressions.
On the ring, Rumsshi's eyes were cold. Seeing the gods paralyzed by his soundwaves, a cold smirk played on his lips. He quickly charged toward them, delivering punches and kicks one by one. He sent the paralyzed gods flying in all directions—some slammed into the ring, while others were knocked clean out of bounds, losing their combat eligibility.
The scene descended into total chaos, filled with the blinding light of energy explosions and billowing smoke. The Gods of Destruction attacked each other without any rhyme or reason. The battle was brutal; even the floor of the ring was left pitted and covered in deep cracks.
Sitting on the highest platform, Zen-Oh frowned. He was starting to get unhappy. Because the smoke was too thick, he couldn't see the combat on the ring clearly at all; he could only hear the messy sounds of fighting.
"This is so boring. I can't see anything. It's no fun at all," Zen-Oh suddenly spoke up, his voice full of disappointment, his eyes growing dim.
"Is that so? In that case, let's have them stop immediately, so as not to ruin the Grand Zen-Oh's mood," the Grand Minister proposed respectfully from Zen-Oh's side.
As the Grand Minister's words fell, the smoke on the ring gradually dissipated. Everyone looked down and saw that only two Gods of Destruction were still standing: Beerus and Quitela. However, both Beerus and Quitela were exhausted. Their faces and bodies were covered in wounds, and their clothes were tattered and stained with dust and blood.
They stared each other down, both panting heavily, their chests heaving violently. Yet, their eyes still flashed with intense battle intent, showing no sign of backing down.
"Beerus, so you're the only one left standing after all. It looks like you really do have some skill," Quitela snorted, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth. "Since it's just the two of us, let's settle this once and for all and see who the truly strongest God of Destruction is!"
"Hmph, bring it on! You think I'm afraid of you? Today I'll show you who the real powerhouse among the Gods of Destruction is!" Beerus was fearless. He spread his feet into a combat stance, and destruction energy began to surge around him once more.
The two let out a low shout and charged at each other, both throwing a powerful punch.
Flicker!
Just as their fists were about to collide, the Grand Minister suddenly flickered into the space between them. He extended two fingers, effortlessly blocking their energy-laden punches. Beerus and Quitela were startled. Feeling the terrifying power emanating from the Grand Minister's fingers, they quickly withdrew their strength.
"Your battle was too intense, and the smoke it produced was too thick. The Grand Zen-Oh wasn't very happy watching it, so let's end this exhibition match here," the Grand Minister said calmly, his tone carrying an unquestionable authority. "We will reformulate the rules for what follows."
With that, the Grand Minister rose into the air and returned to Zen-Oh's side, standing respectfully. Meanwhile, the Angels from the various universes flew down from their platforms and landed on the ring beside their respective Gods of Destruction. The staffs in their hands glowed with a soft healing light as they began to treat the wounded gods.
Under the Angels' healing, the gods' injuries quickly recovered for the most part. They returned to their respective spectator stands, sitting in their seats and waiting for the Grand Zen-Oh's new instructions.
"It seems a multiversal martial arts tournament isn't very interesting after all. That fight just now was a mess, and it wasn't good to watch at all," Zen-Oh shook his head in disappointment. He looked dejected, even starting to regret holding the tournament in the first place.
"In that case, shall we cancel the Tournament of Power? If the Grand Zen-Oh doesn't like it, we can arrange other activities instead," the Grand Minister bowed slightly, inquiring respectfully.
Goku heard this and immediately panicked. He had worked so hard to convince the Grand Zen-Oh to hold this tournament; how could it be canceled just like that?
"Wait a second, Zenny! Don't cancel the Tournament of Power!" Goku shouted urgently. He flew into the air toward Zen-Oh, his tone full of desperation. "That fight just now was just an accident! The matches between us human warriors definitely won't be that messy. We'll make sure you enjoy watching it!"
The gathered gods all looked on in shock, their eyes wide. This human actually dared to call the Grand Zen-Oh "Zenny"? And he dared to interrupt him? Was he trying to die as fast as possible?
"Goku, that match just now really wasn't interesting. I couldn't see anything, and it was just a mess. Let's just forget it," Zen-Oh said, looking at Goku and shaking his head.
"It's true that the battle between Lord Beerus and the others was too intense, making it hard to see through the smoke. But the battles between us human warriors are different! we won't make such a mess. We'll make sure you can see everything clearly!" Goku said with a grave expression, his eyes fixed on Zen-Oh, hoping to convince him.
"But what should we do? I still think it's a bit boring," Zen-Oh said, scratching his head as if he had a headache. Suddenly, his eyes lit up. "How about you let me see your match? I want to see what it's like when you fight!"
"My match?" Goku was stunned, not quite catching Zen-Oh's meaning.
"Yeah, have you fight someone. If it's good to watch, I won't cancel the Tournament of Power," Zen-Oh said seriously, his eyes full of expectation.
"That's actually a great idea!" Goku realized immediately. He smiled and nodded, though he then hesitated. "But having me fight all those Gods of Destruction alone... I don't think I can handle that! They're all way too strong!"
Grand Minister: "..."
Standing to the side, the Grand Minister's mouth twitched slightly. This kid had a big mouth—he actually dared to consider challenging all the Gods of Destruction by himself?
"No, your opponent will be a human, not a God of Destruction," the Grand Minister quickly smoothed things over with a smile. "The battles with the Gods of Destruction will be set aside for now. After all, their power is too great and easily makes a mess, affecting the viewing experience."
"A human? My opponent is a human from another universe? But they aren't even here right now," Goku blinked, his eyes full of confusion. Aside from himself, there didn't seem to be any other human warriors present.
"Isn't Mr. Toppo right here? He is a human warrior from Universe 11, and a God of Destruction candidate as well. He's very strong and would be a perfect match for a spar with you," the Grand Minister said with a smile, gesturing toward the Universe 11 stands for Goku to look.
In the Universe 11 stands, Toppo's eyes widened, and his body stiffened. Are they talking about me? Having me spar with Goku?
"Oh, it's him? I remember him. I saw him when I went to Universe 11 last time," Goku realized. He immediately agreed readily. "Alright then! if it's Toppo, we can definitely show Zenny a great fight. I'm game!"
Toppo: "..."
"Is that alright, Mr. Toppo? Would you be willing to have a spar with Mr. Goku?" the Grand Minister asked Toppo with a smile. His tone was polite, but it left no room for refusal.
