Chapter 124 - Chapter One hundred and Twenty-Four

After a refreshing morning shower and dressing impeccably for work, Michael emerged from his room. He nearly collided with Patricia, who had just ascended the stairs to call him for breakfast.

'Michael, you should come and join us for breakfast,' Patricia suggested.

His jaw clenched, momentarily creasing the smooth perfection of his face. 'I'll eat when I get to the office,' he muttered, his voice clipped.

Patricia's hand tightened on the bannister. 'Your father wants us to eat together,' Patricia reminded him.

Michael scoffed, a harsh laugh that hid his anger. 'So he can lecture me again about last night and criticise Chioma for being beneath me? I'd rather immerse myself in work than endure another round of reprimands. I won't entertain your suggestions of marrying Jessica just because she comes from a wealthy family. Her rich family background doesn't mean I should marry her, and I definitely won't. As for Chioma, whom I deeply love, you see her as nothing but trash, but I will definitely marry her,' he retorted.

Patricia stepped aside, allowing him to pass. Robert, who had come over to the house, remained silent and simply took Michael's briefcase from him.

As they walked out, Robert finally spoke, his voice low. 'Sir Michael, your parents might struggle to accept Chioma.'

'That's their problem, not mine,' Michael retorted, casually twirling the car key on his elegant finger as they approached the garage.

'Perhaps introducing Chioma soon to your parents would be...' Robert began, but Michael cut him off.

'Enough with your nonsense,' Michael snapped. I'll drive myself,' Michael dismissed the suggestion.

'I should be the one driving you,' Robert insisted.

Robert opened his mouth to protest, but Michael's voice, a whipcrack of authority, silenced him. 'Get in, Robert. Unless you prefer a scenic crawl to Moon Corporation,' Michael retorted, his tone dripping with sarcasm. 'If you insist, then I'll make you crawl to Moon Corporation.' With a dismissive flick of his hand, he pressed the unlock button on the key and hopped into a stunning red Porsche race car.'

'I might as well die before we arrive,' Robert muttered, his face crumpling as if on the verge of tears.

'Then be quiet and get in the passenger seat,' Michael ordered.

Obediently, Robert climbed into the passenger seat, his shoulders slumped in defeat. Michael slid behind the wheel of the sleek red Porsche, a predator poised to take on the day. He roared out of the villa, heading towards Moon Corporation.
