Now, my name is Uchiha Xuan. I’ve been adopted by my uncle, and I have an older cousin who walks around every day with a "Protagonist" look on his face; his name is Uchiha Madara. I also have a younger cousin who looks like he wants to kill me every single day, though he’d never dare say it out loud because he can't beat me in a fight; his name is Uchiha Izuna. To make matters worse, I'm stuck with a completely screwed-up System called the "Behind-the-Scenes Boss System." Every day, it tries to incite me to go out and conquer the world, and it’s constantly threatening me with "Obliteration" if I don't comply. Honestly, all that fighting and killing is so uncivilized. I just want to quietly be a Mastermind from the shadows... and maybe build myself a massive harem along the way.

____________

My name was Lu Xuan, and I never in a million years expected that I would actually transmigrate. And into such a godforsaken world, no less.

My parents in this life were cut down on the battlefield shortly after I was born. I smoothly joined the ranks of orphans.

My name now is Uchiha Xuan. I am three years old and was adopted into my uncle's household. I have an older cousin named Uchiha Madara, and a little brat my exact age named Uchiha Izuna. Besides those two, there are three younger ones: Uchiha Fei, Uchiha Hen, and Uchiha Liang.

Uchiha Madara always walks around with an overpowered "Protagonist" expression on his face; at the very least, I've never seen the guy smile. Whenever he sees me, he only has one thing to ask: "Did you train today?" The frequency of that question is comparable to people in my past life asking, "Have you eaten yet?" Train my ass! Do you think everyone is a training maniac like you? I'm only three years old! High-intensity training at this age will kill me, alright?

As for Uchiha Izuna, for some reason, the two of us just can't stand the sight of each other. Rain or shine, we end up in a scrap at least once every two days. Of course, my raw strength is a bit higher, so he's the one who ends up beaten into the dirt every single time.

The problem is that every time he loses, he goes to fetch reinforcements. Madara happens to be a massive bro-con, so in the end, I'm always the one who suffers.

Beside a slowly flowing river, a three-year-old child sat hugging his knees. Watching the clear, gliding water, he couldn't help but sigh at his tragic fate.

"Naruto, the Warring States, the Uchiha... this world is really trying to play me to death!" Xuan threw a pebble into the river, his face scrunched in misery.

Before transmigrating, he had watched Naruto and had a decent grasp of the plot. But those events took place decades after the founding of Konoha—they had absolutely nothing to do with the "now." Looking at his current situation, whether he could even survive until that era was a serious question.

The events of the Warring States Period were mostly glossed over in the original series, appearing mainly in Senju Hashirama's flashbacks.

But no matter how little the original work described the Warring States, one thing was crystal clear: it was a cruel era with an astronomical mortality rate. Even young children were sent to the battlefield.

In the original story, when Uchiha Madara met Senju Hashirama, he explicitly stated that he originally had five brothers, but only one was left. That remaining one was, naturally, Izuna.

Wait... Thinking of this, Xuan's heart suddenly skipped a beat. He remembered a massive problem he had been overlooking.

He had always assumed that, as a transmigrator, he wasn't counted among Madara's siblings. With Izuna, Fei, Hen, and Liang, that made four—plus Madara, it perfectly made five brothers. He had been completely careless. Now that he thought about it, something was terribly wrong.

In the original work, Madara's exact words were: "I originally had five brothers." That meant Madara wasn't counting himself. Including Madara, there were actually six brothers in total.

Suddenly, a cold sweat broke out across Xuan's back. Five brothers... and currently, there were only four. It was obvious—in the original timeline, Madara did have this adopted cousin. And unfortunately, by the time Madara met Hashirama, he had already died in battle. He hadn't even left a name behind.

Taking a deep breath, Xuan forced himself to calm down. He possessed the soul of an adult, after all; he wouldn't panic over a mere theory.

"If my guess is right, based on the original timeline, Madara's first meeting with the Senju happens when he's around eight or nine. Madara is already six this year. Calculating for the worst-case scenario, my predecessor likely dies within the next two years."

Xuan's gaze gradually turned cold. His eyes bled into a deep crimson, and a single black tomoe slowly rotated within them, reflecting off the river's surface.

This Sharingan was something he had awakened when he was just one year old. Aside from himself, no one knew. In this Warring States era where human life was as cheap as grass, it was impossible to survive without a hidden trump card.

Within the Uchiha clan, the earlier one awakened their eyes, the greater their potential. In the original series, the prodigy Itachi awakened his at age eight and was hailed as a once-in-a-century genius.

As far as Xuan knew, during the Warring States Period, most Uchiha clansmen didn't awaken their eyes until their teens. Those who could do it before age ten were called geniuses. Uchiha Madara awakened his at age five and was called the "Hope of the Uchiha." Someone like Xuan, who awakened at age one, was completely unheard of. If word got out, he had no idea what kind of massive uproar it would cause.

Seeing his Sharingan, he felt a wave of relief. He muttered to himself, "Since I awakened them two years ago, I've been stuck at a single tomoe due to my low Chakra levels. I'll probably reach the second tomoe by next year. If the 'original' Uchiha Xuan died within these two years, I have to redouble my training."

Ding! [Behind-the-Scenes Boss System initiating... Binding Host: Uchiha Xuan.] "What?" Xuan suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head. A massive flood of information rushed into his brain, only subsiding after an hour.

[Binding complete. World identified: Naruto. Issuing Main Quest: Become the ultimate Boss of this world and unify the globe. Reward: Ownership rights to the Naruto World! Time limit: Until the canon plot concludes. Penalty for failure: Obliteration!] "Hey, don't just go issuing quests on your own! I haven't even figured out the situation yet!" Xuan clutched his head, roaring inwardly.

[This System is only responsible for issuing Quests, not providing explanations. Please comprehend the details on your own, Host.] Xuan gritted his teeth and began organizing the information in his head. Simply put, this was a System designed to turn someone into a "Boss." It featured various functions and could exchange for anything in the Naruto world—provided you had enough Points. As for earning Points, the System would issue various quests.

As he finished processing everything, Xuan couldn't help but feel a surge of wild joy. This was the ultimate "Golden Finger" for a transmigrator! Even though it was three years late, it was finally here. What was there to complain about?

With a thought, Xuan opened the System's Exchange Menu to see what was available. The very first items made him suck in a breath of cold air.

Rinnegan | Item Rank: SSS | Cost: 1,000,000 Points

Sage Body | Item Rank: SSS | Cost: 1,000,000 Points

Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan | Item Rank: SS | Cost: 500,000 Points

After counting the number of zeros behind each item, Xuan's mouth twitched. At this rate, he'd have to save up until the end of time.

"By the way... isn't there some kind of Newbie Welfare package?" Xuan asked internally.

[Given the Host's inquiry, a first-time welfare benefit can be gifted: You may choose either one C-Rank Jutsu, or a one-time upgrade for your Sharingan. Please choose.] Xuan's eyelid twitched with irritation. What do you mean 'Given the Host's inquiry'? If he hadn't asked, it definitely wasn't going to give him these rewards, was it?

He didn't even have to think about the C-Rank Jutsu. He didn't want it. As a member of the great Uchiha clan, while S-Rank Jutsu were rare, as long as your strength was sufficient, you could get your hands on as many C-Rank techniques as you wanted.

"Upgrade the Sharingan."

As soon as Xuan spoke, a surge of heat erupted from within his body and flooded into his eyes. A burning sensation washed over them. About a minute later, Xuan hurriedly leaned over the riverbank. In his reflection, the double tomoe Sharingan was clearly visible.
