Mila trembled.
Facing Dominic's dark expression, she felt as if the air had been sucked out of the room. His gaze alone was enough to suffocate her.
For a second, she truly thought he might kill her.
"Who asked you to touch my things?" he snapped.
Mila opened her mouth to explain. But fear had wrapped around her throat so tightly that no words came out.
"Get out."
Mila didn't delay a second. She turned and rushed out of the room, her heartbeat pounding wildly in her ears. She didn't look anywhere and headed straight to her room.
The moment the door shut behind her, she sucked in a sharp breath, her hand flying to her chest.
"He is so terrifying," she murmured under her breath. "How am I going to collect his secrets?"
Her back slid against the door as she slowly sank down.
If he ever discovered that she was betraying him and working for his enemy, he would kill her. Chills traveled down her spine.
"I can't do it." Dread settled deep inside her. "It's impossible."
