Chapter 16 - 16.

Killian held the phone which was on loud speaker and kept his eyes on Stephan with tense expression. His mind prepared for possible escapes or attack patterns since his abilities were suited for enclosed areas he weighted the risk of bring the entire resort down.

"What's your name again, Potion creator?" Vladimir asked in a dry tone

The person answered without a hint of anger at the fact someone he knew had forgotten his name.

"So what are you willing to trade for your territory. Make it short since I'm currently busy." Vladimir said "If you injury Killian forget about it and I will come over to burn everything to the ground as I slowly drain you. Besides that, you may begin."

Stephan was silent for a while before he spoke, "Originally, I was going to offer up the a relic that fits the requirements you need: a power source strong enough for your family to use separate from the government controlled one and the potion as a bonus. But now, how about an alliance instead."

Vladimir was torn. Territory was important since they didn't have quite enough yet but if they don't have a means of power that would be troublesome as well. Anyway he would be making a loss but which one would hurt less.....

"The trade will happen, Killian give the annoying human his land documents. The alliance will not, until next time and I won't forget your name then Stephan." Vladimir said and cut the call

Killian spoke as he placed the documents on a nearby table, "Well then. I'll be off then."

"Where do you think you're going? I really want an alliance with your Head so please help me." Stephan smiled

The heaviness of the air in the room could only be dur to Stephan as the laziness slowly drifted from his eyes.

"I can't help with that." he answered "Let me go Stephan."

Kilian started to grow larger and taller rapidly as he head against the ceiling cause it to crack. Stephan noticed the he wasn't stopping as he bashed through the top.

"FINE!" Stephan sighed "Can't believe your a giant class ability user."

He withdrew so easily that Killian was confused again as he shrink down. He cautiously walked past as Stephan stretched himself while lying down.

"Tell him that I really want the alliance because it would be useful to both of us." Stephan told him

Killian sighed, "All of them aren't sane in some way."

He quickly contacted his subordinates that they were leaving and hoped the alliance never happens.

Vladimir raised his eyes toward Quinlan who had colonized his office sofa. He knows he said he would teach when he had time but the man has been camping here ever since in between fawning over his secretary like a lovesick puppy.

"Lan, what do you know about ability users?" Vladimir asked retuning his gaze to his documents.

Quinlan spoke, "Ability user have three sub-qualifications. Some rare lucky ones have all three or two but more have only one of the three."

"Correct, more detail." Vladimir said trying to distract him as he squeezed in more work than agreed

Quinlan answered with seriousness unaware of his scheming, "Talent: it is unchangeable aspect that is determinate from birth. If a mage has a talent [ Fire Mage] they fire magic will be stronger than other elemental types but negative affecting talents are possible as well. Those with it are "

"Unchangeable." Vladimir repeat testing the word between his lips, "I wouldn't say that, Lan. The world is large and mysterious, simply because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist."

Quinlan nodded, "The next one is the most common by about 92% which is the source of why everyone are called ability users even if they fall in the other two: Ability. Abilities can be learnt and grew with time and practice as well as be affect by talents if they have any."

Vladimir turned his gaze to hi laptop and spoke, "Lastly, class. Extremely rare and no one has a direct explanation for it, some are like role, others similar to mythical races. Having a class can make you desirable regards of how terrible you talent and/or current abilities are."

His glowing eyes looked at Quinlan as a plan to rid himself of the parasite for a while started to form in his mind, he almost smiled as the scheme took shape.

"A class is like a gamble since the results only show at later stages or if the person works to intense manner but humans are unpredictable creatures. I'll tell you a secret only class users now." Vladimir said lowering his voice

Quinlan found himself leaning in forward drawn into his frosty blue eyes that seemed they would consume him if given the chance.

"One class can be given to more than one person. If you manage to defeat the person with your class you can strip them of it and boost your own." Vladimir whispered

Curiosity was now devoured his slight reason at the dangerous thought brewing in his mind and the temperature cooled as he lost control of his aura.

"It's dangerous, isn't it?" Quinlan asked quietly with a stammer

Vladimir told, "I wouldn't be excited if it wasn't. I don't want to admit but Val and I can be quite sadistic. You can say no, I will never force you."

Quinlan felt Vladimir's aura chill over him trying not to pressure him but failing sometimes as it followed the turbulent emotions hidden behind his impassive face.

"I'll do it. If I win teach me about senses." Quinlan pushed out of his lips

Vladimir answered, "If you win, I'll take leave from work until you learn one thing from me."

A wind spirit brought a folder to Quinlan with the information of Tyson Black, leader of the third strong assassination guild.

Quinlan felt his heart stop for a moment at the thought as regret almost came but he stomped on it. He couldn't wait for Vladimir to feel like teaching him so he need to take this bet seriously.

Vladimir watched Quinlan leave with excitement. A few spirits and bird follow after him so he can have a front row view of everything.

He turned back to the laptop again. It was a camera connected to Elsbeth and he saw she was in a heated battle with a kraken....who knew something so dangerous was hidden nearby a city.

"Best of luck." Vladimir said letting a small smile form
