I spit the water out of my mouth and open my eyes.
The sun blinds me.
"Where am I?"
After a while of blinking my eyes adjust to the brightness.
I am in the middle of the ocean with nothing but blue around me.
"Is this the ocean?" I look around me.
"How the hell did I end up here?"
In a panic I check my body.
[What?... Nothing– there is nothing on me.]
[No burns.. nothing.]
[I was in that fire, I felt it.. how?]
The memory of talking with someone or something rushes back in.
So do the memories of the pain.
[Was that real?]
My breathing becomes intense.
[It must have been.]
[They betrayed me…]
…
[No.. I have to focus on right now.]
I submerge myself in the water enough times to calm me down.
Once calmed down I take a moment to really look around.
There is no land that can be seen.
[How will I get back?]
I dive and look around hoping to find something that will help.
I find nothing.
"The wind."
[I can try to follow the direction of the wind.]
[It's not guaranteed that I'll find land but it's the only choice I have.]
I take my shirt off and tie it on my head to use as a hat.
Lifting my hand up I decide what way the win is moving and start swimming.
Nothing but blue skies and waters surround me for miles.
[It's been hours already. And I'm pretty sure the sun is about to go down as well.]
A rumbling noise comes from my stomach. I can barely hear it through the water.
[Wait, I haven't eaten all this time.]
[How long has it been since the incident?]
[When everything went down it was night time, and when I woke up it was day time.]
[So a day? Wait… no i'm in the ocean.]
[And the only way to get here from the kingdom is either on foot or by following the great river.]
[When I fell, did I fall in the great river?]
[Even then I would surely drown.]
[The currents would kill me in minutes.]
[Even taking the great river it's still a 3 day journey.]
[How is that possible?]
[How am I here right now?]
As I float and think something happens.
The water around me goes completely dark, almost black.
"What is going on?"
I try to swim away from the dark pool.
Suddenly what seems like a huge tentacle shoots up from under the water.
The shock makes me almost jump.
"What is that?"
I try to swim away from it.
As I do it slaps the water creating huge waves.
The waves swallow me as I try to swim away.
[I have to get back up to the surface.]
[When did I go this deep down?]
Before I knew it I was four to nine meters under the water.
With the little strength I have left from swimming all day I try to get back up.
[Why can't I seem to get closer?]
Another tentacle passes me, almost hitting me.
Then two more.
Caught off guard trying to avoid getting hit I don't notice a fourth one.
It lands a clean hit on my stomach knocking me back.
With the impact I let go of all the air I had in my lungs.
"Mhhgmm" I try to scream.
Under the pressure I manage to form some thoughts.
[What is hitting me?]
[I have to get out.. to get away.]
Ignoring the intense pain, I try to swim away.
I spot something on the corner of my eye.
[Another one!]
Another tentacle not more than a meter away from me.
[I don't have the time to dodge it]
[I have to try to fight.]
Gathering as much strength as I can , I position myself.
Then the time comes.
I throw my punch, the water slows it down a significant amount.
Once it lands a small shockwave pushes me away.
[What is this strength?..]
[Since when am I this strong.]
Realising the shockwave, I use it to reach the surface faster.
"Hahh.haa" I gasp for air.
Before I even get the chance to process what just happened something grabs me.
A tentacle again.
"Ahh" I scream out as it squeezes me.
Instead of bringing me under it lifts me up into the air.
"What the hell is this?"
"Let me go." I scream towards the water.
The tentacles squeeze me harder and harder.
"Let-" Blood starts gushing out of my mouth before I can finish.
[It's going to kill me.]
"I said to l-let me go!"
[I'm tired of this.]
[It's always me.]
"I swear I'll kill you!"
A sudden wave of anger consumes me.
"DIE"
I start punching the tentacle that is squeezing me.
The vibrations from the punches swim across my body.
"I'll.. AHH- I'll kill you."
Its grip on me loosens.
I bite down on it and rip a huge chonk of it off.
The water vibrates, and a loud monstrous scream can be heard.
"Come.. Here!" I scream as I fall back into the dark water following the tentacle.
"grhWhere are.grhg you" I scream out water filling my mouth with every word.
A pair of dark purple eyes appear not too far in front of me.
"Ahh" I start swimming to it at rapid speeds.
[M..Must Kill.]
I land a blow on its left eye.
Nothing but screams loud enough to make my ears bleed can be heard.
[Kill.]
[Must kill it!]
I quickly close the distance again and throw a kick.
I fight the shockwave it made.
A tentacle strikes me on the back of my head.
It knocks me back a bit.
Just before it can get away I grab it.
"grYou will die!"
Thoughts of anger and the desire to kill this creature fill my head, leaving no space for any other thought.
I try to rip the tentacle in half.
"Ahh!"
"Rip!.. DIE!"
After some struggling I manage to rip it.
Then suddenly it tries to emerge from under the water.
I hold on to the tentacle.
After realizing I'm still holding on, it flings me up what must be some thirty meters into the air.
"Arhh!"
[I must kill it!]
In the air, I somehow make a small fireball and throw it towards it.
Upon impact, the water rips off some of the skin on my back.
I feel pain for a split second.
"Ughh."
Then anger again.
"I'll kill you!"
"I swear I will!"
But before I can even notice a tentacle hits me.
My whole body feels like it's going to shatter.
"Ughhg" [It hurts!]
But before I can focus on the pain, anger consumes me.
"I'-..I'll kill you"
My body fails to move.
No matter how much I tell it to, it won't react.
It raises its tentacle and goes for another strike.
Then right before it hits me.
BOOM!
Something strikes the tentacle.
I try to look towards the direction it came from, my body doesn't respond.
Then two more.
BOOM! – BOOM!
A loud scream fills the air.
It backs away trying to submerge.
"Now! ATTACK!" A voice screams
"""AHHHH!""" A dozen more follow.
