—————-

Time, it seemed, had been frozen into amber at this moment.

Phainon's gaze swept over Gepard, who was kneeling from exhaustion.

Then, he slowly raised his eyes, surveying every fragmentum creature in his sight.

The black greatsword and the ritual sword in his hand quietly merged into one.

And then... he smiled.

Accompanied by that insane laughter, he shot into the sky like a black lightning bolt swimming against the current!

Four black phantoms, identical to him, peeled off from his body, following closely behind.

The sky exploded with five black lightning bolts, like a slaughterhouse woven from light and shadow.

There was no deafening roar, no boom of clashing energy.

Only dead silence.

In the absolute silence, a voiceless "sacrifice" was unfolding.

Wherever the black light passed, the monsters were cut into countless neat pieces before they could even let out a whimper.

Like a rain of foul flesh and blood, it splattered down onto the earth.

Gepard looked up, his pupils reflecting this hellish scene, his mind a blank.

All the combat techniques he had learned in his life, all the battle will he was so proud of, seemed like a joke in the face of this spectacle.

This wasn't combat; this was destruction!

The next moment, the surviving monsters finally awoke from that extreme terror!

The instinct for survival overrode everything!

They went mad!

All their attacks, all their claws, all their fangs, no longer paid any attention to Gepard, who was within arm's reach.

Instead, they turned around, surging towards the Death God dancing in the sky!

However, everything was in vain.

Finally... the black "rain" stopped.

In the sky, there was nothing left.

Nothing left to kill, nothing left to destroy.

On the scorched earth, only two colossal shadows, like small mountains, remained — the Flame of the Outer Cosmos and the Ice of the Outer Cosmos.

Phainon slowly landed, and the four phantoms, like tired birds returning to their forest, merged back into his body.

He walked over the ground strewn with remains, his steps heavy and rhythmic, as if tolling the death knell for the last survivors.

"Roar—!"

The Flame of the Outer Cosmos was the first to attack; a dark red flame ignited out of nowhere above their head, which it then swallowed whole!

Boom!

their body was set ablaze by the fires of hell!

Countless fireballs condensed behind it, each radiating terrifying heat capable of melting steel.

Seeing this, Gepard endured the excruciating pain of his body being torn apart, and roared with all his might: "Be careful! That thing's temperature can instantly vaporize everything! Don't get..."

His warning stopped abruptly.

Because the man in the black robe gently beckoned towards the burning behemoth.

It was an... invitation.

An invitation for it to attack?!

"Roar!!!"

The behemoth seemed to have suffered the ultimate humiliation; it roared, unleashing dozens of destructive fireballs behind it, all at once, onto that tiny human!

Boom—Boom boom boom—!!!

The violent explosion consumed everything, and the shockwave sent Gepard flying.

His outstretched right hand froze in mid-air, his face etched with despair.

Just a little... his force field barrier, just a tiny bit more, and it could have protected the man in the black robe.

However.

When the smoke and dust cleared, a tall figure still stood unscathed on the scorched earth.

Phainon brushed the dust from his robe, and the voice from beneath the golden mask carried an undisguised hint of disappointment.

"This temperature... truly... disappointing."

This small flame, compared to the despair fire burning at thirty million revolutions within him, was merely a flickering candle in the wind.

The next instant, Phainon's figure vanished from their spot.

He appeared before the Flame Beast, slowly raising his right hand, not to attack the enemy, but to... fiercely plunge it into his own chest!

There was no blood.

What gushed forth from that wound was a pure will of destruction, deeper and hotter than the fires of hellish karma!

A torrent of flames completely engulfed, melted, and vaporized the Flame of the Outer Cosmos, leaving not even a trace of ash.

Gepard was utterly dumbfounded.

To ignite an enemy with one's heart?

What kind of fighting style was this?!

Phainon's gaze shifted to the last trembling Ice Beast.

Perhaps he had grown a little bored waiting.

He casually walked up to the Ice Beast.

Buzz—

Four phantoms once again emerged from behind him.

The five Phainons transformed into five black streams of light, too fast for the naked eye to catch, and began a flurry of slashes around the giant Ice Beast, like a raging storm.

Blade light wove like fabric, sword shadows cascaded like a waterfall.

No one knew how many swords had been swung in that brief moment.

Immediately after.

The streams of light dissipated, and the phantoms merged into one.

Countless cracks appeared on the giant Ice Beast's body.

"Crack—"

A soft sound.

The entire Ice Beast collapsed with a crash, transforming into a pile of crystal-clear shattered ice, forming a small ice mountain on the ground.

In his mind, a cold system prompt flashed.

[Current ignitable Kindling: 108642]

"A good... harvest."

Phainon sheathed his blade, turned around, and looked at Gepard, who was struggling to get up nearby, walking towards him step by step.

Gepard's brows were knitted into a tight knot, and he instinctively gripped his weapon.

He knew that this man in the black robe had saved them.

But this power itself was a terror far exceeding the fragmentum catastrophe!

This man was more dangerous than all the disasters Belobog had ever faced, combined!

Phainon came before him and asked condescendingly.

"Can you walk?"

"...I, I can." Gepard gritted his teeth, forcing himself to stand upright.

"Then walk yourself."

Phainon dropped these words, then ignored him, walking directly towards the tightly shut steel gate.

"Wait a minute!" Gepard finally couldn't help but speak, "Are you the companion March 7th and the others are looking for?"

Phainon paused.

"I am... Silvermane Guards now. You... just remember that much."

Gepard was stunned and pressed, "And! Were those fragmentum creations... brought here by you?!"

He needed a logic, a reason, to explain the sudden disaster and the incredible rescue!

Phainon slightly turned his face, the golden mask looking especially eerie in the shadows.

He tilted his head, lightly tapped his temple with his index finger, and his tone even carried a hint of pity,

"Wake up..."

To be told by an absolute madman, with the look of someone addressing an idiot, that his own mind was problematic... Gepard felt that the common sense and logic he had held onto for over twenty years were crushed to dust at this moment.

He sighed inwardly and gave up on pressing further questions.

Because he knew he wouldn't get a logical answer from this man.

He could only drag his exhausted body, closely following that black silhouette, and finally arrived before the iron gate.

"I am Gepard Landau!"

"Open the gate!"
