Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: Imperial Capital

A sharp glint flashed in Fang Yu's eyes, he had already made his decision. His target was the White Crocodile hides on the island; that meant a massive amount of money.

"That place is where sea demons gather. When you go, you must be extremely careful, do not be careless!" Dean Xiao warned.

"Alright, make your preparations. We're setting out!" Chen Jingxi said. She was decisive and efficient, setting off immediately after speaking.

After leaving the meeting room, Fang Yu returned to his residence, packed a few changes of clothes, and carried no large luggage. He slung a bag over his shoulder and left, simple and swift.

That very night, once everyone had finished packing, they set off.

Within the Nine Provinces, the most prosperous cities were the Imperial Capital and Magic City. The Imperial Capital was the political center, while Magic City was the economic hub.

Fang Yu had grown up in Bo City and cultivated in Magic City, this was his first time going to the Imperial Capital to witness its grandeur!

The airplane roared as it headed north.

Fang Yu looked out the window. The night was deep, the moon bright, and the stars scattered across the sky.

"Are we taking a detour?" Fang Yu asked in surprise.

"Mm. Some regions may look completely quiet, but they're actually very dangerous," Han Yu replied, explaining further. "Establishing flight routes is extremely difficult. A considerable price has to be paid, and satellites must verify repeatedly before a safe and reliable path is found."

"The most dangerous encounters are with feathered demons, but they can be detected in advance. A magical firepower net will lock onto them."

"As long as we don't run into extremely powerful feathered demons, it shouldn't be a big problem."

"So the skies are this dangerous."

"Senior Han, if anything really happens, we'll be relying on you," Qin Shuo said with a smile, since only she had Winged Magic Equipment and could fly.

Han Yu smiled sweetly, her large eyes blinking. "No problem. When the time comes, I'll carry you all while flying."

Zhang Hao immediately perked up. "If something really happens, I'll have to borrow your thigh."

"Get lost!" Han Yu kicked him aside.

The airplane sped forward, and after some time, they arrived at Imperial Capital International Airport.

Through the small airplane window, Fang Yu looked down at the Imperial Capital!

"So this is the center of power in the Nine Provinces…"

The Imperial City was enormous and majestic, with a long-standing history. From ancient times to the present, it had endured the passage of years and still stood tall.

Within the Imperial Capital!

There were massive ancient Great Walls built along mountain ridges, standing silently like towering mountain ranges, stretching endlessly across the landscape.

This was an ancient Great Wall with over two thousand years of history, carrying the weight and vicissitudes of time.

"A Myriad-Mile Azure Dragon!"

Fang Yu stood there in a daze, his thoughts surging.

The true secret of the ancient Great Wall was that it was the place where the Myriad-Mile Azure Dragon had fallen.

Through countless ages, this grand and magnificent relic had recorded the history of the Nine Provinces.

It was a witness to the ages, a brilliant crystallization within the river of history.

Soon, the plane landed smoothly, and only then did Fang Yu come back to his senses. The group disembarked, dragged their luggage to the underground second-level parking lot, and boarded a private car sent to pick them up.

Forty minutes later, the car arrived at a five-star hotel. Everyone put down their luggage, rested for the night, and regained their energy.

The next day, they toured the Imperial Capital.

The city was beautifully constructed, full of vitality, with plants everywhere and well-developed infrastructure. High-rise buildings stood in abundance.

Crowds bustled about, with endless streams of pedestrians. This vast capital was incredibly prosperous, its population unknowable. It was lively and vibrant, and on the main streets, people brushed shoulders as they passed.

"The Imperial Capital really is a great place," they sighed.

"Half the people here are mages. Many of them are strong, their cultivation isn't weak at all," Fang Yu remarked.

"This is the Imperial Capital. Aristocratic families gather here, and it's also a place where strong individuals congregate," Han Yu explained.

The group continued forward.

There were all kinds of shops along both sides of the street, with endless shouts of vendors selling their goods. Aside from daily necessities, there were also various items required by mages, such as precious Stardust Magic Tools, Control Magic Tools, as well as Spirit Seeds and various crystals.

"Maps for sale! Inside is recorded a Ming Dynasty treasure, exchangeable for a single Fire Element Spirit Seed!" someone not far away was shouting from a stall.

This left Han Yu and the others stunned, there were even maps recording treasures?

"When you come here, you need a sharp eye. Make sure to judge for yourselves," Chen Jingxi reminded.

They immediately understood, even in the Imperial Capital, there were all kinds of so-called rare items being sold that didn't live up to their claims. Of course, there was also the possibility of truly unique treasures appearing.

"Dream Butterfly, a top-tier demon with Psychic abilities, only one available! If you want it, place your bids now!" On another side, an old man was shouting while holding a jade jar.

Fang Yu and the others went over to take a look. Inside the jade jar was a caterpillar, leaving them speechless once again.

"Young people, haven't you heard of breaking the cocoon to become a butterfly? This is the juvenile form of the Dream Butterfly, it hasn't transformed yet," the old man said with a smile.

"Who are you trying to fool? You dare to scam people with just a worm!" Zhang Hao said indignantly.

The old man looked completely calm, not embarrassed in the slightest. "I'm not lying. This is a caterpillar that has been dormant for over a dozen years, right at the critical point of transformation."

They didn't linger and continued walking forward. Soon, they were stunned again, looking toward a strange ancient vine.

"What is going on here?" Fang Yu and the others were shocked.

It was a very bizarre scene, the strange ancient vine was burning with flames.

Everyone stared at it intently.

Flames rose from the vine, carrying a kind of magnificent charm. It looked extremely dreamlike, with flowing radiance casting a crimson glow.

An old woman explained to them, "This is a special plant species imbued with the power of fire."

"Something like this exists?" Fang Yu and the others were astonished, feeling that the Imperial Capital was becoming even more mysterious.

The Flaming Ancient Vine stood just over a meter tall. Even after hearing the explanation, everyone was still quite stunned, finding it unbelievable.

Even Fang Yu revealed a look of curiosity and asked the shopkeeper for details.

From the sky, a mass of blazing fire had once descended and landed on this ancient vine. Not only did it not burn it to ashes, but instead nourished it, causing it to grow stronger and undergo a rebirth overnight.

Since then, this ancient vine had become completely different.

Fire-Gold Vine, this was the name of the vine, perfectly reflecting its characteristics. If absorbed, it could allow plants within the Plant Element to contain blazing fire, enabling Plant Element magic to wield the power of the Fire Element.

Fang Yu's heart stirred as he looked at the vine.

It was his first time seeing such a plant. Based on his instincts, he knew this item had an extraordinary origin, it was definitely a great opportunity. If absorbed by a Plant Element mage, they would likely become exceptional and be able to dominate others of the same tier!

However, when he got closer, Fang Yu was startled, the price was outrageous. It was enough to bankrupt an entire family instantly.

"Let's go," Fang Yu said.

Too poor, couldn't afford it.

He didn't want to stay here any longer.

They left and entered other bustling streets of the Imperial Capital. There were people trading everywhere, with shops lining both sides of the streets.

After wandering around for a while, before long, the group set off for the Imperial Capital Academy.
