Elena's heart stopped.
"United States?"
"Yes. Las Vegas base."

"It's competitive," the woman continued. "We're sending profiles. If selected, you leave within a month."

Elena nodded slowly.
"I'm interested."
The woman smirked slightly.

That night, Elena couldn't sleep.
She imagined neon lights.
Skyscrapers.
A life bigger than rice fields.
