'If I layered on a fourth power source, this brat's vessel would scream in protest. Who knows if Kabuto will show his face? Best to hold something back for now.'
Shwoom! The light-mushroom contracted violently, revealing the colossal beast behind it.
Splash! Naru-Madara shot forward from the water's surface, a supersonic, miniature missile aimed straight at the giant.
One moment, Killer B and Gyūki were reeling from the power of that Tailed Beast Ball. The next, their jaws dropped.
He dared to challenge the Eight-Tails with such a laughable size difference?

His four jet-black fox-tails elongated, folding and interweaving before him. A layer of shimmering blue Susano'o armor coated them. The mountainous waves of force shattered against this four-tailed defense net, utterly useless.
Upon activating the Susano'o, Naru-Madara felt the Sage Cursed-Fox state burning through his reserves at an accelerated rate.
'It seems… this form can't be maintained for long either.'
He glanced down, catching his reflection in the turbulent water.
'And… this form is frankly hideous to look at.'
His hand went to his abdomen, touching the Eight Trigrams Sealing Formula hidden beneath the demonic cloak.
'This seal is in the way. I'll break it. The Nine-Tails' chakra will be truly mine to command!'
'Let's finish this quickly!'
His right Mangekyō Sharingan peered through the gaps between his tails, locking onto the Eight-Tails' form.
—Jambudvipa!
Black Jambudvipa iron crystals manifested right before the beast, flowing into its skin before it could react and vanishing.
"That black stuff just now… What was it?!" Killer B yelled.
Gyūki's voice roared in his mind, laced with panic. "I have an extremely bad feeling about this, B! We should retreat!"
Naru-Madara raised a hand to casually cover his left eye, a domineering, scornful smile on his face.
"Now, anything you do is too late, Eight-Tails… You're already in my grasp."
—Nietono no Shana!
Shink! Shink! Shink! Shink!
Jet-black Jambudvipa rods erupted without warning from all over the Eight-Tails' body. With them came Naru-Madara's own dark, ominous, overwhelmingly powerful chakra—running rampant, violently disrupting the beast's own energy.
But the Eight-Tails' chakra was immense. Even under such suppression, it managed to struggle, its arm moving to grip one of the rods piercing its shoulder, trying to wrench it free.
Naru-Madara's eyes narrowed. 'It seems this technique alone isn't quite enough to fully suppress the Eight-Tails. Let's add more weight to the scales.'
Crack!
From Naru-Madara's left shoulder, black wood writhed and burst through the cloak. It extended, binding the Eight-Tails' colossal form and drilling deep into its flesh.
"GAAAAAAAHHHHHHH…!!!"
Bathing in the beast's agonized roar, Naru-Madara's smile turned savage. "This is my exclusive 'Black Cursed Wood.' My will and Wood Release power will suppress you on two fronts!"
Before their eyes, the Eight-Tails' massive form rapidly shrank, the distinct features of Killer B re-emerging.
"B, hang on! I'll use the tail substitution jutsu now…!!!"
Black Zetsu materialized. "The Eight-Tails can escape by severing a tail! He's done it before! It's unpredictable! Don't let him get away!!!"
"Oh? Is that so."
Naru-Madara's gaze turned fathomlessly dark. He calmly raised two fingers.
"I, Madara, am here. There will be no surprises."
Zzzzt…!!
From the black rods binding Killer B, a torrent of dark, liquid-like substance surged forth.
Killer B collapsed onto the sea surface, his body rigid.
Gyūki's voice was a desperate roar. "Damn it! His consciousness has interfered! He's severed my connection to B! I can't activate the tail substitution…!!"
Crack!
Naru-Madara released the Sage Cursed-Fox Mode, snapping off the wooden extension from his left arm. He walked calmly across the water and stopped beside the paralyzed Killer B. Crouching, he plucked the man's sunglasses off and forced an eyelid open. His Mangekyō swirled, ready to use the Sharingan to unravel the 'Iron Armor Seal' and release the Eight-Tails.
Splash…!!
A sudden disturbance. Samehada chose that moment to breach the surface. Its chain whip lashed out, sending Naru-Madara flying back. The sword's flesh then fused violently with Killer B's body as back-fins sprouted. In the next instant, it shot into the deep sea—its speed so staggering even Naru-Madara could only watch it vanish.
Black Zetsu raged. "Damn it… He got away again!!!"
Naru-Madara crouched on the water, his gaze low. "He discarded Samehada from the start… planning for this all along? Samehada can conceal chakra almost perfectly. Even Sage Mode couldn't track it. I've been outplayed…"
"Whatever."
He stood up slowly.
"Obtaining the Eight-Tails now would be of little use anyway. At best, it would be a conventional summon. Hardly essential…"
"You're taking this rather well," Black Zetsu commented. "What's our next move? It seems Kabuto didn't show up here."
Naru-Madara turned, looking toward Paradise Island. His voice was low and decisive.
"That island… Hashirama built it as a training ground for the Cloud's jinchūriki. I will go there and break this Eight Trigrams Seal. The Nine-Tails' chakra will become truly mine to wield."
