Jay woke up to sunlight in her eyes.
She stretched. Felt something warm next to her.
She turned.
Keifer was there. Asleep. His arm around her waist.
Jay blinked. Looked around.
This was not her room. This was Keifer's room.
How did I get here?
Then she remembered. Late night talk on the balcony. She got cold. He gave her his jacket. They talked more. She fell asleep on his shoulder. He must have carried her to his room.
She smiled. He was so sweet.
She carefully moved. Trying not to wake him.
She got out of bed. Quiet. Quiet.
Then her foot caught on his shoe.
She stumbled. Hit her leg hard on the bed frame.
"Ow!" she hissed.
Keifer woke up. "Jay?"
Jay held her leg. "I'm okay! I'm okay. Just stupid."
Keifer sat up. Saw her holding her leg. He was up in seconds.
"Let me see."
Jay shook her head. "It's fine. Really."
Keifer kneeled down. Looked at her leg. There was a red mark. Starting to bruise.
"That's not fine."
Jay sighed. "It's just a bruise. I've had worse."
Keifer looked up at her. "That doesn't mean I want you hurt."
Jay's heart melted. "You're sweet."
Keifer stood. Before she could move, he picked her up. Bridal style.
Jay gasped. "Keifer! What are you doing?"
Keifer carried her to the door. "Taking you downstairs. You can't walk on that."
Jay laughed. "I can totally walk!"
Keifer shook his head. "No."
Jay wrapped her arms around his neck. "You're so stubborn."
Keifer smiled. "You love it."
Jay kissed his cheek. "I do."
He carried her down the stairs.
The living room was loud. Voices. Laughter.
Keifer walked in.
And froze.
The room was full.
Serina and Keizer. Keigan and Keiren. Jeana and Jasfher. Jane and Kyle. Percy. Even Aries and Yuri were there.
All of them. Staring.
Jay stared back. "What?"
Jane screamed first. "JAY! KEIFER! BRIDAL STYLE!"
Percy dropped his coffee. "WHAT HAPPENED?!"
Jasfher stood. "Princess! Are you hurt?!"
Jeana ran over. "Baby! What happened?!"
Jay tried to explain. "I just hit my leg! It's nothing!"
Serina gasped. "Your leg? Let me see!"
Keifer still held her. Not moving. Face calm. But ears red.
Keizer pulled out his phone. "I'm taking a picture."
Keigan yelled, "KEIFER CARRYING HIS GIRLFRIEND! HISTORY!"
Keiren nodded. "Best morning ever."
Jay buried her face in Keifer's neck. "Put me down."
Keifer shook his head. "No. Your leg."
Jay groaned. "KEIFER."
Jane was crying laughing. "HE WON'T PUT HER DOWN! HE'S PROTECTIVE!"
Percy wiped tears. "I can't breathe. This is too much."
Aries smiled. "Good job, Keifer."
Yuri nodded. "True love."
Jasfher crossed his arms. But he was smiling. "Fine. Keep holding her. But I'm watching."
Keifer nodded. "Yes, sir."
Jeana and Serina hugged each other. "Our babies!"
Keizer showed Jasfher the picture. "Look at this. My son. Strong."
Jasfher looked. Then he smiled. "Okay. That's cute."
They finally sat on the couch. Jay on Keifer's lap. Because he refused to let her sit alone.
Serina brought ice for her leg. Jeana brought breakfast.
Everyone sat around them. Watching. Smiling.
Jane took a hundred pictures. "For memories!"
Percy ate his breakfast. "I can't believe I flew here and this is what I see."
Jay looked at him. "You came?"
Percy nodded. "Mom and Dad missed you. We all came. Surprise."
Jay's eyes filled with tears. "You guys..."
Jeana hugged her. "We missed you, baby."
Jasfher kissed her head. "My princess. Always."
Jay cried happy tears. Keifer held her tighter.
Keigan whispered to Keiren. "Jay is crying. What do we do?"
Keiren whispered back. "I think they're happy tears."
Keigan nodded. "Okay. Good."
Keizer heard them. He laughed. "Boys, just watch. This is what love looks like."
Serina leaned on his shoulder. "Our family. Complete."
Jay looked around. Her family. His family. All together.
She looked at Keifer. "I'm so happy."
Keifer kissed her forehead. "Me too."
Jane fake gagged. "Okay now it's too cute."
Everyone laughed.
Later, Jay's leg was fine. She walked around. But Keifer stayed close. Always watching.
Percy pulled him aside. "You really love her."
Keifer nodded. "More than anything."
Percy smiled. "Good. Take care of her."
Keifer looked at Jay. She was laughing with Jane. So beautiful.
"Always."
The day was loud. Chaotic. Full of love.
Two families. One love.
Perfect chaos.
