Chapter 172 - Chapter 172: Dan Feng! Did You Get Taller?

When Dan Feng touched the Earthly Ember, a flood of memories that did not belong to him surged into his mind like a torrent.

"Come forth, beast that lies prostrate. For this life, live eternally."

"Rise renewed from dormancy, and with me soar as the wild dragon!"

The figure of Dan Heng appeared in Dan Feng's mind. It seemed he was conversing with a giant beast.

Combined with the name of this droplet called Earthly Ember, one could infer that the giant beast before him was likely the Earth Demi-God from the storyline.

If so, that would mean this Permansor Terrae template was actually Dan Heng's new form?

At this thought, Dan Feng suddenly felt a surge of anticipation.

The scene froze there. Then the golden droplet burst into dazzling light.

It flowed along Dan Feng's hand into his body, finally dispersing as golden radiance throughout the space.

The scene shifted. The pitch-black environment vanished, and Dan Feng found himself back in the space filled with lakes.

Dan Feng only felt something new appear inside his body. His blood surged with an unbearable heat. Immediately afterward, his form began to change— the dragon horns belonging to Imbibitor Lunae on his head were completely replaced by golden ones.

Through the reflection in the lake surface, Dan Feng saw his current appearance. Still, he felt the Imbibitor Lunae form was more aesthetically pleasing.

He then hid the golden horns. He felt they weren't as good-looking as the Imbibitor Lunae ones. Even the tail that appeared alongside them was likewise concealed.

[Congratulations to the host for successfully unlocking the Permansor Terrae Template.]

[As this is the second template, it is designated as an auxiliary template and will share a single progress bar with the Imbibitor Lunae template.]

[Congratulations to the host for obtaining the foundational abilities of the Earth Demi-God.]

[Earth Demi-God Foundational Abilities:

Life Resonance: Can understand the voices emitted by all living beings and communicate with them.

Dragon Spirit: Can bestow Dragon Spirit upon others. In life-threatening situations, it manifests to protect them and can fight alongside the recipient.

Immortal Dragon Power: Immortal Dragon Power has been strengthened.

Cloud-Piercer can now be infused with Earth Power for enhancement.]

[Other abilities must be developed by the host themselves.]

A string of system notifications pulled Dan Feng's thoughts back completely. He carefully read the text appearing on the system template and felt somewhat shocked by it.

The main abilities of this Permansor Terrae template were actually focused on protecting others—this was truly unexpected.

Moreover, it had conveniently strengthened the Imbibitor Lunae abilities as well—an unexpected bonus.

Just as Dan Feng finished understanding the Permansor Terrae abilities, the space underwent a small change, as though earth magic had been cast on it.

The environment that had been entirely water instantly transformed into one with mountains and lakes, as if everything had been deliberately arranged.

What puzzled Dan Feng even more was that his field of vision felt somehow off—different from before.

It was like wearing a pair of ill-fitting glasses: it didn't impair his sight, but it still felt awkward.

However, Dan Feng did not dwell too much on this sensation. His attention was quickly drawn to the new power he had gained.

First, he noticed some clear differences between the Permansor Terrae dragon and the Imbibitor Lunae dragon.

The Permansor Terrae dragon was entirely golden, shining with dazzling light, giving off a desolate yet domineering aura.

In comparison, the azure dragon of Imbibitor Lunae appeared even more powerful.

Moreover, the Permansor Terrae dragon horns differed from those of Imbibitor Lunae—their shape was more protective in nature.

Dan Feng cast Dragon Spirit on himself. A golden mark of the earth streaked across his body like a meteor and quickly vanished.

The appearance of this golden mark meant Dan Feng had successfully bestowed Dragon Spirit upon himself.

From now on, whenever he faced danger, the Dragon Spirit would automatically manifest to shield him from harm and provide assistance in battle.

Next, he took out Cloud-Piercer and infused it with the power of Permansor Terrae. The originally profound azure spear tip instantly transformed into a golden crystal style.

Just judging from the added weight, the current Cloud-Piercer was undoubtedly much harder now.

Finally, there remained the ability to communicate with living beings, which couldn't be demonstrated in this space. So he decisively exited the space, planning to test it later when the opportunity arose.

When Dan Feng emerged from that space, it was already deep into the night. But having just gained new power, he felt even more energetic—whether he slept or not no longer mattered.

Still, with nothing else to do right now, he chose to sleep.

...

The next morning, Roxy's consciousness had not fully awakened, and her body still felt drowsy.

Suddenly, a faint sound came from the door, drawing Roxy's attention.

Following the sound, she slowly opened her eyes, then gradually sat up, moved her body, and opened the door.

When she saw that the person at the door was Dan Feng, her mind cleared slightly.

"Morning, Dan Feng." Roxy gave a cute smile and greeted Dan Feng.

However, in the instant she spoke, she suddenly felt that today's Dan Feng seemed somehow different.

She carefully studied Dan Feng's face and expression but saw no obvious changes.

Yet for some reason, she just felt that Dan Feng today was unlike his usual self.

While Roxy was racking her brain, her gaze suddenly fell on Dan Feng's figure.

She was shocked to discover that Dan Feng seemed taller than before.

"Dan Feng! Did you get taller?" Roxy's eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Dan Feng, her voice full of astonishment.

Dan Feng was slightly stunned by Roxy's words. He then noticed her reaction.

He looked down at himself but didn't feel anything particularly unusual.

"Hm? Did I get taller?" Dan Feng asked in confusion.

Then he also noticed that Roxy—who used to reach about chest height on him—now seemed even shorter relative to him.

Dan Feng realized that what Roxy said was true. He really had gotten taller.

His original height of about 175 cm had now exceeded 180 cm, widening the distance between him and Roxy even further.

"Hiss, the Permansor Terrae template can actually make me taller?" Dan Feng thought to himself. This was something he had never expected. It seemed the strange feeling in his vision earlier in that space had come from his increased height.

"You really did get taller! Now I have to look up even more to see you!" Roxy puffed out her cheeks, seemingly quite concerned that Dan Feng had grown taller on his own.

She had already been nearly 30 cm shorter than Dan Feng before; now the gap was even larger.

Although a taller Dan Feng gave her more of a sense of security, wouldn't others mistake her for his daughter like this?
