Sarah stared hopelessly at Jayden, who returned her gaze with a cold, unyielding glare. The contract lay between them on the table, its crisp white pages feeling heavier than they should. She swallowed hard. The words printed across the page blurred for a second before her vision steadied again. She had already read it twice. It clearly stated that she would be Jayden's personal assistant.
"Sir—"
"Just sign it. Then you can talk." Jayden cut her off sharply, his tone leaving no space for negotiation. His eyes flicked briefly to the pen in front of her, silently urging her to hurry.
Her fingers curled slightly against the edge of the table. "I have no idea how to take care of you," she said, her voice smaller than she intended, almost pleading.
