Chapter 120 - 122. Red Orbit

Mars hung in the darkness like a silent witness.

Cold. Empty. Unforgiving.

And soon—

A battlefield.

Inside Olympus, the entire planet watched as humanity's first true space fleet moved into position.

Dozens of orbital platforms.

Hundreds of autonomous drones.

Mass driver cannons aligning with deadly precision.

Adrian leaned forward, eyes locked on the screen.

"So this is it."

Elara stood beside him, calm as always.

"Yes."

"Humanity's first real space battle."

The red glow of Mars filled the holographic display.

Beyond it—

The Harvester fleet approached.

Faster now.

More organized.

More dangerous.

"Olympus," Elara said.

The system responded instantly.

FORWARD DEFENSE NETWORK — DEPLOYED

The hidden fleet spread across Mars orbit.

Formations locked in.

Weapons charged.

Adrian watched the tactical map.

"We actually look… prepared."

"Yes."

"But so do they."

The Harvester fleet shifted formation again.

Scout ships moved ahead.

Hunter warships flanked the sides.

Carriers remained in the rear.

And at the center—

The Titan.

Adrian stared at it.

"Still not moving."

"No."

"It's watching."

The Architect's voice echoed through the chamber.

"As expected."

Adrian crossed his arms.

"Yeah, yeah… we know."

"Big boss waits for the right moment."

The distance between fleets closed.

Slowly.

Tension filled the room.

Every second felt heavier.

The council channel remained open.

This time—

No one argued.

No one shouted.

They just watched.

Because this moment would decide everything.

ENGAGEMENT RANGE: 5 MINUTES

Adrian exhaled slowly.

"Last chance to back out."

Elara didn't even look at him.

"No."

He smirked.

"Yeah… didn't think so."

The Harvester scouts moved first.

A wave of smaller ships surged forward.

Weapons glowing.

Adrian pointed at the screen.

"They're testing us."

"Yes."

"Same pattern as before."

"But this time—"

She activated Olympus.

"We're ready."

"Olympus… open fire."

The first wave of human weapons fired.

Mass driver cannons launched projectiles at incredible speed.

Missile swarms followed.

The space between Mars and the fleets exploded with light.

The first alien scout was hit.

Then another.

Two ships destroyed instantly.

Adrian grinned.

"Okay."

"That's a good start."

But the Harvester fleet adapted.

Instantly.

Their ships split formation.

Dodging incoming fire.

Returning shots.

Alien beams cut through space.

One human drone carrier was hit.

It exploded into fragments.

Adrian's smile faded.

"Yeah… that's more like it."

The battle intensified.

Missiles clashed with alien fire.

Drones swarmed across the battlefield.

Explosions lit up the red glow of Mars.

Elara moved rapidly through the interface.

"Olympus… redirect drones."

"Focus fire on hunter-class ships."

Adrian watched the targeting shift.

"You're going for the big ones."

"Yes."

"If we take them out early…"

"We weaken the fleet."

A hunter warship took a direct hit from multiple mass drivers.

Its hull cracked.

Then exploded.

Adrian nodded.

"Nice."

But the Harvester carriers responded.

They launched their own drones.

Thousands of them.

Adrian stared.

"That's… a lot."

"Yes."

"Way more than before."

The drone swarm surged forward.

A black cloud of destruction.

Elara activated countermeasures.

"EMP satellites—fire."

Electromagnetic pulses spread through space.

Dozens of drones shut down instantly.

But more kept coming.

Adrian frowned.

"They're overwhelming us."

"Yes."

The human defense grid strained under pressure.

Platforms were hit.

Drones destroyed.

Missiles intercepted.

The battle tilted.

Slowly.

But noticeably.

Adrian clenched his jaw.

"We're losing ground."

Elara didn't respond.

She was thinking.

Calculating.

Adapting.

Then—

"Olympus… Phase Shift Formation."

Adrian blinked.

"Phase what?"

The human fleet suddenly moved.

Not randomly.

Precisely.

Ships repositioned.

Weapons aligned differently.

The entire formation shifted.

Adrian stared at the new pattern.

"That's… new."

The Architect spoke quietly.

"Adaptive strategy."

Elara focused.

"All units—converge fire on central corridor."

A gap opened in the enemy formation.

Human weapons concentrated.

A corridor of destruction formed.

Alien ships caught inside it exploded one after another.

Adrian smiled.

"That's more like it."

The battlefield shifted again.

Now humanity was pushing forward.

Not just defending.

Attacking.

The Harvester fleet pulled back slightly.

Reorganizing.

Adrian noticed something.

"They're changing again."

"Yes."

"They're preparing something."

The carriers moved closer together.

Energy readings spiked.

Adrian frowned.

"That doesn't look good."

The Architect's voice cut in.

"They are combining power."

Elara's eyes widened slightly.

"A fleet-level weapon."

Adrian whispered,

"You've got to be kidding me."

The Harvester ships aligned.

Energy built across multiple vessels.

A massive beam formed.

Far larger than anything seen before.

Adrian stared at the charge.

"That's not a weapon."

"That's a planet killer."

The beam fired.

Straight toward the human fleet.

Elara reacted instantly.

"Olympus—defensive saturation."

Every human weapon fired at once.

Missiles.

Mass drivers.

EMP pulses.

All aimed at the beam.

The energy clashed in space.

The beam weakened.

But didn't stop.

Adrian whispered,

"It's still coming…"

Elara made a decision.

"Olympus… Helios forward fire."

Adrian blinked.

"Wait—Helios is all the way near Earth—"

The laser platform fired.

The beam crossed the vast distance.

Striking the incoming energy wave.

The two forces collided.

For a moment—

Everything froze.

Then—

The alien beam shattered.

Exploding into fragments of light.

Adrian exhaled loudly.

"That was too close."

The battlefield fell into brief silence.

Then—

The Harvester fleet pulled back.

Retreating slightly.

Adrian frowned.

"They're backing off?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

The Architect answered.

"They are reassessing."

The Titan finally moved.

Slowly.

Deliberately.

Its massive form shifted toward Mars.

Adrian stared at it.

"Oh…"

"That can't be good."

The Architect's voice dropped slightly.

"No."

"It is not."

The Titan's energy core began to glow.

Elara whispered,

"It's activating."

Adrian looked at her.

"What happens when that thing joins the fight?"

The Architect answered calmly.

"You will understand why it is called a Titan."

The battlefield went quiet.

For just a moment.

Before something far worse began.
