Chapter 26 - Chapter Twenty Five: Dinner at the Watson Mansion

If the hospital was chaos…

The Watson Mansion was war.

Jay stood outside the massive gates, arms crossed, staring up at the towering estate.

"You didn't tell me it was this big."

Beside her, Keifer slipped his hand into hers.

"You've been here before."

"Yes, but not as your fiancée."

"Fair point."

The gates opened slowly.

Percy leaned forward from the backseat.

"OH MY GOD."

Jay closed her eyes.

"What now?"

"Your future house is bigger than my dreams."

Aries, sitting beside him, sighed.

"It's not her future house."

Percy gasped.

"Don't ruin this for me."

Keifer smirked.

"You're welcome to visit."

Percy leaned forward instantly.

"I accept."

Jay turned.

"You weren't invited."

"I invited myself."

The car rolled up to the front entrance.

And Jay immediately spotted them.

The entire Watson family.

Waiting outside.

Serina stood elegantly beside Keizer, while Keigan leaned casually against a pillar. Keiren bounced excitedly next to Grandfather Watson.

Keiren saw the car first.

"JAY!"

He sprinted down the steps.

Jay barely had time to open the door before he launched himself at her.

She caught him easily.

"Hi, Keiren."

"You came!"

"I said I would."

"Kuya didn't die!"

"I'm very aware."

Keifer stepped out beside them.

"Still alive."

Keiren looked disappointed.

"A little bit disappointing."

Jay laughed.

Serina approached next, smiling warmly.

"Jay, darling. Welcome."

She hugged her gently.

"Thank you, Tita."

Keizer shook Jay's hand.

"Good to see you again, Doctor Mariano."

"Good to see you too."

Percy stepped out dramatically.

"HELLO FUTURE IN-LAWS."

Jay muttered,

"I don't know him."

Aries followed, polite as always.

"Good evening."

Grandfather Watson stepped forward slowly.

He studied Jay carefully.

"You look less worried today."

"He's behaving."

Grandfather nodded.

"Good."

Then he turned to Keifer.

"Still no work?"

Keifer sighed.

"Everyone is against me."

Jay smiled sweetly.

"Doctor's orders."

Keigan approached, already holding his phone.

"Group picture?"

Jay groaned.

"Already?"

"Yes."

Percy jumped in.

"I love this kid."

Within seconds, they were arranged awkwardly on the mansion steps.

Keigan held up his phone.

"Say Watson–Mariano alliance."

Everyone blinked.

Percy yelled,

"WATSON–MARIANO ALLIANCE!"

Click.

The photo was taken.

Dinner was… loud.

Two powerful families in one room meant one thing:

Arguments.

Percy pointed at the long dining table.

"This is bigger than my apartment."

Keizer smirked.

"You should visit more often."

"I'm moving in."

Jay kicked him under the table.

"You're not."

Keiren sat beside Jay, swinging his legs.

"Jay, when you marry Kuya, will you live here?"

Jay blinked.

"I… don't know."

Keifer glanced at her quietly.

Percy leaned forward.

"Or Keifer moves into our house."

The entire table paused.

Keizer raised an eyebrow.

Serina smiled.

Grandfather Watson looked amused.

Keifer looked at Jay.

"You want me to move in?"

Jay shrugged.

"Maybe."

Percy slammed the table dramatically.

"YES."

Aries rubbed his forehead.

"Please stop encouraging him."

Dinner was served.

The conversation shifted between business, family, and teasing.

Then Keizer turned serious.

"Jay."

She looked up.

"Yes?"

"Becoming CEO is not easy."

The room quieted.

Jay nodded.

"I know."

"You'll face pressure. Media. Investors. Politics."

"I've faced worse."

Keizer smiled slightly.

"I believe that."

Serina reached across the table.

"You'll do wonderfully, Jay."

"Thank you."

Grandfather Watson spoke quietly.

"You already lead in your hospital. This is only a larger version."

Jay nodded.

Then Keiren tugged her sleeve.

"Jay."

"Yes?"

"When you become CEO, can you give Kuya a vacation?"

The entire table laughed.

Jay looked at Keifer.

"That might be my first executive decision."

Keifer groaned.

"Betrayal."

Percy clapped.

"I support this."

Aries nodded.

"Seconded."

Keizer leaned back.

"Unanimous decision."

Keifer shook his head.

"I'm surrounded by traitors."

Jay leaned toward him.

"You love us."

He smiled softly.

"I do."

After dinner, they moved to the living room.

The atmosphere relaxed.

Keiren fell asleep beside Jay, holding Bato.

Keigan scrolled through photos.

Serina and Reycee—who had arrived late—were already discussing wedding ideas.

Percy joined them.

"Fireworks."

Jay immediately said,

"No."

"Live band."

"No."

"Elephants."

"Absolutely not."

Keifer whispered,

"I want elephants."

Jay turned slowly.

"Don't start."

He smiled.

Grandfather Watson watched them quietly.

Then he spoke.

"Keifer."

"Yes, Grandfather?"

"You're different."

Keifer paused.

Jay looked between them.

Grandfather continued,

"You smile more."

Silence filled the room.

Keifer glanced at Jay.

Then back at his grandfather.

"I'm happy."

Grandfather nodded slowly.

"Good."

Jay felt something warm settle in her chest.

Because she realized something.

These families…

This chaos…

This love…

It was becoming home.

Keifer leaned closer to her.

"Stay tonight?"

Jay hesitated.

Percy immediately appeared.

"STAY."

Aries sighed.

"Give them space."

Percy ignored him.

"STAY."

Jay looked at Keifer.

Then at the sleeping Keiren beside her.

Then at both families chatting together.

She smiled.

"Okay."

Keifer squeezed her hand.

"Okay."

And for the first time…

The Watson Mansion didn't feel like someone else's home.

It felt like hers too.
