Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: The God They Could Not Chain

While everyone was still in shock over what they had just seen, the original Lucifer felt a strange déjà vu.

He felt like he knew that guy.

He did not remember from where, but his presence felt familiar. He reminded him of the older brother of those beautiful Greek goddesses for whom, even now, he still held quite a bit of affection.

Lucifer watched Michael shoot forward, catching his brother's body in midair.

How sentimental.

Uriel had it coming. He always acted as if no one could touch him.

"What do we do, Lucifer?" Asmodeus asked, observing the anomaly that had just appeared and that, without doing much, had brought the war to a complete halt.

With the ease with which he had taken down one of the archangels, there was no doubt that this unknown man was dangerous.

"Nothing for now," Lucifer replied with a small smile. "Let the old man handle it. I'm curious to see how this ends."

"Not to mention he just took an enemy out of the fight," Beelzebub added. "If this tips in our favor, he might end up helping us against the angels."

Leviathan merely nodded, remaining alert in case someone tried to take advantage of the pause to attack. Just because the war had stopped did not mean the danger had disappeared.

POV Elohim

The silence that had fallen over the battlefield did not last long.

Elohim observed the stranger calmly, although inside his mind had not stopped for even an instant. He did not know who that young man was, and that was precisely what he did not like.

And that made him dangerous; after all, he did not know what a being like that was doing wandering inside his pantheon.

"Identify yourself," Elohim said, his voice spreading across the sky with authority

Damon looked at him from a distance, without a trace of respect or urgency in his expression.

"One of yours already tried doing it the hard way."

Elohim did not react to the response.

"Your appearance stopped a war between three factions. You struck down one of my sons. I have the right to demand answers."

Damon let out a small exhale. What a drag.

"Look I didn't come for you. I'm not interested in your war either. I have my own problems; I really don't want to cause trouble. I'm sorry about your son, but he attacked me."

Elohim kept his gaze fixed on him.

"That does not answer what you are."

Damon's eyes narrowed a little.

"I already told you… it's none of your business."

Everyone could feel the tension growing larger. Enough for everyone present to understand that the conversation had become more dangerous.

Elohim kept speaking with the same calm as before.

"Someone unknown who is capable of altering this conflict cannot simply appear and leave as if nothing happened. I do not understand your nature…. Until I understand your nature, I will not let you remain free."

For the first time since the exchange began, Damon's expression truly changed.

"Remain free?" Damon repeated. The irritation in his voice was enough for more than one person to understand that he had touched a sensitive point.

Elohim's voice did not change.

"Submit without resistance. If you are not a threat, that will become clear."

Damon observed him for a few seconds before smiling without any humor.

"So that's your game."

"I don't even know who you are to speak to me as if you could judge me," Damon said, and this time his voice carried a weight that made more than one person below tense up. "I do not belong to your world. I do not take part in your war. And even so, you think you can put chains on me because what you do not understand makes you uncomfortable."

Elohim's gaze hardened slightly.

"If you possess a power capable of altering creation, then yes. It is my responsibility."

Damon let out a low laugh, but there was no amusement in it.

How many times had he been a victim of that same thing. People, gods, enemies... there was always someone willing to decide his fate in the name of some supposed higher duty. And even now, Damon understood that leaving his pantheon had been an example of that…..

POV Damon

Minutes earlier—

"Are you sure about this, kid? This could end up biting you in the ass later..." Kurama said seriously.

Damon snorted.

"Ah, to hell with the consequences. If this old man wants to drag me into a cell, he'll have to incapacitate me first."

Kurama fell silent for a moment.

"The only thing I regret is losing this body. I was starting to like it," Damon said with a half smile.

End Pov

For an instant, no one said anything. But not for long…..

"How dare you speak to our father the creator like that"

"who the hell do you think you are"

And just like that, the battlefield exploded once again. The angels' indignation overflowed at the same time their auras began to stir en masse, crashing against Damon, all of them expressing their outrage.

Elohim released a tiny fraction of his power, and that was enough to calm the masses. No one moved

"So this is your answer..."

Damon's voice, barely audible, traveled across the battlefield.

The next instant, Elohim was already in front of him.

His right hand went directly for his face, surrounded by sacred gears whose mere appearance was enough to understand one thing: if they touched him, everything would be over.

At the same time, Lucifer appeared above both of them, demonic spears forming around him. It was obvious he intended to take advantage of the moment to finish both of them at once.

The reason was simple.

In barely milliseconds, Damon's power had risen to a level that put both Elohim and Lucifer on alert.

Everything happened in a matter of seconds.

But Damon had already moved.

A brutal shockwave of air exploded around him, destabilizing Elohim, and in that same fraction of a second he vanished from his position and reappeared in front of Lucifer. With a movement of his hand, he launched a gray crescent carrying an unnatural mixture of energies.

Lucifer recognized divine power in it.

The rest did not.

And that only made the sense of danger much worse.

He dodged the slash by pure instinct.

Then the explosion came.

"¡¡¡FLUSSSS!!!"

"¡¡¡BOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!"

A hundred combatants were erased from the battlefield.

Damon summoned his katana and disappeared once more.

"¡¡Fiuusss!!"

"¡¡Slashh!!"

Cutting waves began sweeping across the battlefield from side to side. Everyone caught in their path was split in half, decapitated, or mutilated with such absurd brutality that even the demons grew tense at the sight.

For an instant, time seemed to stop for Damon.

And when it began to flow again, a redhead was already behind him and Maou Asmodeus was in front of him. Damon flipped backward and kicked the air in the direction of the one coming from behind him. Immediately, a wave of air blades shot out, catching the redhead by surprise.

In the same movement, he traced a slash with his katana toward the Maou, who received it with too much confidence, believing he would be able to dodge it.

A mistake he would pay dearly for.

Using atmospheric pressure, Damon immobilized the Maou for a few seconds. It was more than enough.

The slash tore through his body violently, opening a wound so deep that at a glance it was obvious it would not heal quickly. Asmodeus was sent flying away with humiliating ease.

Lucifer, seeing that, narrowed his eyes.

The situation was getting out of control far too quickly.

Without holding back any longer, he released his true form.

An oppressive and malevolent aura covered the battlefield. The pressure was so monstrous that several of those present, unable to withstand it, saw their heads explode into grotesque clouds of blood.

Then Lucifer rose into the sky with his eight pairs of wings spread, watching as confusion and fury once again spread through the three races, who had already gone back to attacking each other amidst the chaos.

Lucifer planned to attack Damon immediately. The moment he recognized who he was, he identified that katana instantly, and to say he was surprised would be an understatement. After all, Damon had disappeared years ago, and now he was here, massacring his army.

However for Lucifer, he was still just a simple Greek god, a member of a pantheon he had always considered inferior

But before he could do so, Michael and Gabriel stepped into his path.

Both had stayed on the sidelines until that moment. However, seeing how the situation was finally spiraling out of control, they entered the fray and confronted Lucifer. Azazel was not long in joining the fight as well.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Damon and Elohim had separated themselves from the main chaos after all that madness.

"So a god, huh..." Elohim said.

His eyes remained fixed on Damon, cold and imposing.

"A foreign god in my pantheon... I thought I had made it clear to the other leaders that I did not want any external influence over my creations," he added, with a visibly annoyed tone.

"And much less a Greek one. I do not recall ever hearing of a Greek god like you. At least not from the mouth of that... one who calls himself king. And certainly not one so powerful."

There was a brief silence before he continued, with evident disdain.

"Your pantheon leaves much to be desired, you know? It alters the established order. If I were not occupied right now, I would have already punished your pantheon as I did with other civilizations that forgot their place."

His eyes locked even more firmly onto Damon.

"Tell me your name, boy."

Damon observed him in silence, with the wind slowly stirring his clothes while chaos continued devouring the battlefield in the distance.

Then, a barely visible smile appeared on his face.

"Damon"

Alright, we should be back to the Greek Pantheon soon, but mothafkkers should have some fun in the war. I am doing this so he can get himself out there, of course. I plan to give him a title, so he can have his own story in history books. It would make it easier for me later without people knowing his actual name. I am still undecided on the title, idk something like trihexa or kyuubi type of thing, any tips ????

I will hook y'all up later, maybe next week, so far I am up to him being back to the Greek pantheon which will be chapter 65, which I will post today on patreon so everything is working out well... uhhmmm.
