Chapter 66 - full name

Chapter: Full Name Consequences

(Keif's POV)

Worst mistake of my life?

Letting them realize.

The moment Jay screamed "Mark Keifer Watson!" yesterday…

I should've known.

They would never let it go.

Morning.

I walked into the corridor and immediately felt danger.

Yuri grinning.

Cin whispering to Felix.

Blaster stretching like he was preparing for a performance.

Calix pretending to "casually" stand near Section B.

That's when I understood.

They were planning something.

And I already knew who the target was.

Jay was at her locker, pretending to scroll through her phone like she didn't care about the world.

Which meant she cared a lot.

I sighed.

"Don't," I warned the boys quietly.

Cin smiled sweetly. "Don't what?"

Before I could answer—

Blaster loudly called out, "Heyyy Lina! Keif was looking for you!"

My jaw tightened.

From the corner of my eye—

Jay's thumb stopped scrolling.

Slowly.

Very slowly.

She looked up.

Lina walked over, confused but smiling politely. "You were looking for me?"

"No," I said flatly.

Yuri stepped closer to Lina. "He said he misses discussing physics with you."

I glared at him.

Felix added dramatically, "Yeah, he likes smart girls."

Dead.

Silence.

Jay's eyes lifted.

Sharp.

Cold.

Dangerous.

I tried to ignore it.

"I didn't say that."

"Then say you don't," Cin challenged, folding his arms.

This was a trap.

If I denied too strongly, they'd tease more.

If I stayed quiet—

I felt it.

That stare again.

Burning into my back.

I turned slightly.

Jay was watching.

And she was losing.

Her jaw clenched.

Her fingers gripping her phone tighter.

And then—

"MARK KEIFER WATSON."

The corridor froze.

Again.

I closed my eyes for a second.

There it is.

Music to my ears.

I turned toward her slowly.

"Yes?" I asked calmly.

She walked toward us like she was about to declare war.

"Practice room. Now."

Blaster whispered loudly, "Ooo possessive."

Calix fake-fanned himself. "It's getting hot."

I kept my face neutral, but inside?

I was enjoying this too much.

"Why?" I asked.

She stopped in front of me.

"Because you're needed."

"By who?"

Her eyes flashed.

"By me."

The boys exploded.

Yuri fell against David. Felix clapped dramatically. Eren whispered, "She said it again." Denzel laughed, "Bro belongs to her." Josh nodded seriously like this was official news.

Jay realized what she said.

Her ears turned red.

"I meant— for practice. For the team."

"Hmm," I hummed, stepping closer. "You could've just said 'Keif.'"

She looked up at me.

Angry.

Flustered.

Possessive.

"You don't listen when I say Keif."

I leaned down slightly, lowering my voice so only she could hear.

"You're right."

Her breath hitched.

"When you say my full name like that…" I murmured softly, "I listen."

Silence.

Her heartbeat was almost visible.

Behind us—

Cin stage-whispered, "Say it again, Jay!" Blaster added, "Mark Keifer Watson!" The entire group started chanting it dramatically.

Jay spun around. "SHUT UP!"

Laughter exploded everywhere.

She turned back to me, mortified.

"This is your fault."

"How?"

"You like it."

I smirked.

"Maybe."

Her eyes widened.

I stepped even closer.

"Call me that again."

"Why?"

"Because I want to hear how I sound when I belong to someone."

The teasing stopped.

The boys went quiet.

Even Jay did.

She stared at me like I just said something illegal.

And for the first time—

She didn't shout my name.

She just whispered it.

"…Keif."

Soft.

Careful.

Not angry.

Not jealous.

Just… mine.

And somehow—

That affected me more than the full name ever did.
