Cherreads

Chapter 3 - First real creations

At some point while I was crying last night, I fell asleep hard, and when I woke up it was almost afternoon. My body felt horrible from all that crying.

With a sigh, I got off the couch and went to my van to grab my backpack, then headed back to the couch and dropped onto it. After that, I emptied my whole backpack onto the coffee table to see everything I had.

I had about four notebooks, four big water bottles, some protein bars, a pencil case, and a lot of fruit.

I am so happy that my parents made me fall in love with fruit to the point that they became my go-to school snack.

Why am I happy about that?

Because I can take the seeds from the fruit and grow them with some things I can build to help them grow well and healthy.

The fruits I have are raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries, about a handful of each in a container, two apples, three oranges, and some watermelon that has seeds. Don't judge me for how much fruit I have. I like to eat a lot during the school day.

I took one of the notebooks, ripped out the pages I had already used, threw them away, and started writing down the things I need to make.

The things I need to make are an air purifier, a water purifier, some grow lights for the plants, a data analyzer for the plants, a machine to clean and heal soil, a rainwater collector, a machine to convert salt water into fresh water, and good solar panels.

So I have a lot of things to make, but in the long run they should all help me a great deal.

The first two things I am going to make are the rainwater collector and the air purifier, because I want this base to have cleaner air and I want to be able to collect rainwater that I can purify later for drinking and for the plants.

Let me make the air purifier first. Luckily, since I was already planning to make this, I grabbed everything I needed for it back at the landfill.

So I grabbed everything I needed from the back of the van and set it all down on the coffee table. I picked up my phone, turned on some music, and was glad to find that I somehow still have my playlist from my world.

Anyway, while I make this, I am going to explain what it does and why I am making it.

The reason I am making this is fairly simple. I am having a hard time breathing in this city for a lot of reasons, so I want to be able to breathe without issues inside my base. I also want to test exactly how well it performs. I already have a rough idea of how strong it will be and how fast I can make it, because if it turns out well I might start producing these in small batches. I can always improve the design down the road too.

As for what it does, like the name implies, it purifies the air in a room or building. Here is everything it filters: it removes dust, neutralizes spores, destroys airborne pathogens, breaks down chemical pollutants, stabilizes humidity, and reduces odor molecules.

Now, because of Ecology, Minimization, Energy, and Scraps, I can make this thing work for a building up to ten stories tall while only being the size of a Monster Energy can.

Let me explain what each of those fields does for me in plain terms.

Ecology allows me to build, construct, and design contraptions or machines that work with nature, utilizing and benefiting from it. Minimization allows me to build, construct, and design contraptions or machines that are miniaturized, smaller versions of larger technologies. Energy allows me to build, construct, and design contraptions or machines related to the production and use of energy. Scraps allows me to build far more functional and useful technology out of scavenged materials.

And because all of those are technically part of one Tinker power, they all work together amazingly well to help me come up with really good things to build.

As for how it works, unlike a typical air purifier that requires air to physically pass through it, this one does not need that. Instead, it creates a micro-cyclone core, a high-frequency ionization pulse field, electrostatic particulate capture, and bio-neutralizing UV micro-arc flashes that only target the harmful things I do not want in here.

I also added a little something extra to this one: a security measure. I built it so that if anyone other than me tries to disassemble it, it will stop working permanently and cannot be recreated.

I really did not want to have to do that, but this is Cyberpunk, and the big Corps are genuinely horrible. If they get their hands on this or anything else I make, they will not be able to recreate it, and that is good for everyone, because they would probably try to weaponize it somehow if you know the messed up things they do for money and to stay on top.

All that ranting aside, I am done making it. It only took me about two hours and forty-one minutes, and that was just me taking my time since this was the first one I have ever made.

I stood up from the couch and looked for a good spot to place the air purifier. I found one quickly and set it on something a few feet above the floor.

"Let's do this..." I said as I turned it on.

It turned on and released a low humming sound, almost like a cat purring.

While the air purifier did its thing, I sat back down on the couch for a few minutes to relax before getting back to work.

The next thing I need to make is the rainwater collector, which is the simplest thing on my list. It should only take me about twenty minutes.

I also decided not to make a machine to clean and heal the soil, and to make a potion for that instead. For that, I will need to go to the store to buy some ingredients. While I am at it, I made a small list for a speed potion and a strength potion as well, so I can have those on hand if something happens.

I took a long, deep breath because the air in here is amazing and clean now. I love it so much.

After relaxing on the couch for a few minutes, I grabbed the materials I needed to make the rainwater collector.

I am not going to explain what this one does or why I need it, because the name says it all. It collects rainwater. Nothing more to explain.

Like I said, I got it done in about twenty minutes, though I made a bit of a mistake.

Why?

This rainwater collector is designed to go on a roof, and it is fairly big. I built it inside, so getting it up there is going to be a bit of a challenge.

Luckily, I noticed there is a ladder that goes up to the roof.

I went to my van, grabbed some rope, and tied one end to the collector. Then I took the whole thing outside to the back of the building.

Once I was out there, I climbed the ladder with one end of the rope in hand, and when I got to the top I started slowly pulling the collector up. Good thing I used to play football in high school, because I was able to pull it up without too much trouble.

Once I got it on the roof, I positioned it somewhere that looked solid and was reasonably out of sight.

Now, I am very aware that roughly thirty-five percent of the rain here is classified as acid or toxic due to extreme pollution and the fallout from the Fourth Corporate War. But I do not need to worry too much about that, because I have plans to build things that will clean and purify the water before I drink it or use it for the plants.

I climbed back down the ladder, went back inside, grabbed my keys, wallet, and some cash, then headed out to the store.

.

.

.

Food here has a weird, strange aftertaste.

On my way back from the store with everything I needed, I decided to grab some fast food since I had not eaten all day.

It was weird. Eating it was strange, because I knew it was fake and lab-grown, and I think it might make me sick, so that could be something to worry about.

Anyway, right now I am setting up a small portable stove I bought for brewing the potions. When I have the money, the contacts, and the right materials, I will either build a better setup or buy one, but this will do for now.

I put some synthetic water on to boil, and while that is doing its thing I am cutting the ingredients.

Fun fact: some of the meat here is made from insects, and that is not even the worst of it. Do with that information what you will.

All that aside, what I am doing right now is Alchemy.

From what I understand, Alchemy is art, science, and magic combined. The branch I am practicing right now is potioneering, meaning I am brewing potions.

I am not using any magical ingredients because I do not have access to any, but my potions should still come out effective. They will just take a little longer to make.

Also keep in mind that Alchemy is not only about potions. It covers a very wide range of branches. In one aspect of it, given the right materials and enough time, I can create synthetic metals like vibranium that perform on the level of the real thing.

Back to potions though. I can make potions for nearly anything: potions that regrow limbs, potions that turn your skin to stone, potions for water-breathing, and so much more.

The two types I am making right now are a soil-cleaning and healing potion and a body-healing potion.

All the ingredients I am using are just substitutes for the standard ones.

Also, while I work, I am writing everything down in a notebook in a form that only I should be able to understand, using alchemy measurements and terms, so no one else should be able to read or replicate it.

After a few hours, I am really glad I made that air purifier, because brewing these potions releases a lot of fumes.

Anyway, I am done making both types of potions and I am letting them cool down so I can transfer the healing potion into vials to use later.

Right now I am digging up some soil from out back to use for the plants I am planning to grow.

Once I had enough dirt in some buckets I am going to use as pots, I started removing all the debris from the soil by hand, things like glass, metal, and so on.

By the time I finished picking through each bucket, the soil healing potion had cooled down enough to use.

So I started adding about a ladle's worth into each bucket. I have twelve buckets in total, because I plan to plant each type of fruit in two separate buckets, and with all the leftover seeds I will have I plan to experiment and try to improve them in different ways.

In theory, if I soaked a seed in a mana-regen potion and then planted it, that seed should grow into some kind of mana fruit, or something along those lines.

While the soil heals, I am now working on the grow lights I bought for the plants, making them better by adding a timer, improving the quality of the light output, and a few other things.

I am also coming up with a plan for the future, and this plan is massive. It might change Night City forever. I plan to make two kinds of potions and two kinds of machines.

The first potion is a much stronger version of the soil healing potion I just made, produced in a very large batch. The first machine goes along with it and is designed to inject the potion into the earth and spread it as evenly and as far as possible.

The second potion is designed to clean the air and break down the pollution in the atmosphere, and the second machine is meant to release the potion into the air so that it rains back down and does its work.

Each of those projects is going to take a lot of time, money, and materials, which is why they are firmly in the future plans column for now.

Anyway, I got the grow lights done. Now I am cutting open the fruit and removing the seeds, and saving the fruit itself to eat later.

Once that is done, I set the seeds under the grow lights to dry out. I will plant them tomorrow morning, because right now I need to go buy some clothes and get something decent for dinner.

So off I go.

[AN: Hello goblins, it your favorite Hispanic Daddy here with a new chapters for this fanfic so enjoy.

The MC have process the fact that he is in Cyberpunk but he have not process it completly yet so he might have a breakdown in the fight gun fight he is around or in cause let be honest, you folks would kind of have breakdown too in that kind of thing but you folks like to act all edge lord and act like you would not act a kind of way.

Also remember that he is basically a normal and regular person from our world where things that happen in Cyberpunk does not happen in our world.

Anyways, I hope your all enjoy this chapter and comment if you want to.]
