Chapter 2 - When gods becomes Irrelevant

The moment Haruto said he was bored—Reality started to agree.

At first, it was subtle. Magic circles misfired. Contracts between devils and humans flickered.

Sacred Gears… hesitated. Then— They began to fail.

Heaven

Angels froze mid-flight. "…What is happening?" one whispered. Their light—pure, absolute—began to dim.

Not disappearing. But… losing authority. A voice echoed across Heaven."…Something is overriding the system."

Far above— The concept of God already fragile in this world—

Shook. Not attacked.

Outclassed.

Underworld

Deep within the domain of devils. Power structures cracked. Magic that had existed for millennia destabilized. High-ranking devils felt it instantly.

"…Our power…Is it being suppressed?" "…No—" A chilling realization spread. "…It's being ignored."

Grigori (Fallen Angels)

Even the fallen angels—beings who thrived in chaos felt unease.

"…This isn't war. This is something else."

Kuoh Town

At the center of it all—Haruto walked calmly down the street. "…I didn't even do anything."

[Correction: Your existence is altering baseline reality]

"…That's annoying." He stopped looked around. "…Fine." He raised his hand. "…Stabilize." The world paused then—

Everything locked into place. Systems stopped collapsing. Magic returned. Heaven, Underworld, Grigori—All stabilized. But not restored. Because now—Everything operated under a new rule.

Haruto.

Dimensional Gap

Great Red floated in silence. "…The world has changed."

Ophis nodded. "…Balance no longer exists." A pause. "…There is only him."

Kuoh Academy – Rooftop

Rias stared at the sky. "…I can't feel it anymore."

Akeno frowned. "…Feel what?" "…The hierarchy." Rias clenched her fist. "…Devils, angels, fallen angels… The difference is fading."

Koneko spoke quietly. "…Because he's above all of it."

Haruto

Haruto sighed. "…This is still boring." He looked up, eyes distant."…If the system won't give me something interesting…"

A pause. "…I'll just make it."

[Warning: Unauthorized creation detected]

"…Ignore that." He raised his hand slightly. And then—He created something. Not energy, not life. A contradiction.

[New Entity Created]

Name: Unknown

Classification: Anti-Existence

Purpose: Challenge User

The sky turned black a tear opened—

But unlike before—This one didn't belong to the world.

Something stepped out, Humanoid. But wrong, Its presence erased sound.

Distorted space, even Ophis took a step back.

"…That shouldn't exist." Haruto smiled. "…Exactly."

The entity looked at him. Haruto thought for a second.

"…Try and fight me." It moved Instant. Faster than time.

It struck Haruto—And landed. for the first time—

Something touched him. A small crack appeared—Then vanished.Haruto blinked "…Oh." he looked… interested. "…You're actually trying."

The entity spoke—"I am your equal."Haruto smiled. "…No." He raised a finger. "…You're my attempt." The entity froze, not physically, conceptually.

Haruto walked past it. "…You're close, though." He snapped his fingers.

The entity evolved, Stronger, Faster, More unstable. Now—

The world trembled again. Because this time—It wasn't just Haruto

There were two.

 Every Realm Simultaneously

Heaven.

Underworld.

Dimensional Gap.

All shook. Not from destruction. But from pressure. "…Two anomalies?" someone whispered "No… one anomaly …And its shadow."

Back to Haruto

He turned slightly. "…Alright." His eyes sharpened. For the first time—

He looked serious. "…Entertain me." The entity smiled. And the world—

Finally—

Started to break for real.

Part: 4 Ends

Part: 5 Starts: System Override: The Battle Begins!

Beyond Reality

Nothing remained.

No laws.

No structure.

Just two beings rewriting the meaning of "existence" with every move. Haruto and the entity clashed again But now—There was rhythm, growth, escalation.

The entity stopped mid-motion. Her form flickered—Then stabilized, Changed, Refined, Humanoid, clear, defined.

A girl. Silver hair drifting in nonexistent space. Eyes like broken mirrors.

She looked at her hands. "…I've… stabilized."

Haruto blinked. "…Oh." He tilted his head. "That's new."

She looked at him, fully aware now, not just reactive, not just adaptive.

Conscious.

"…You created me."

"Yeah."

"…To challenge you."

"Yeah."

A pause.

"…Do I have a name?" Haruto thought for a second. Then—"…Alice." The moment the word left his mouth

Reality reacted, even here. Her existence locked in.

Defined.

"Alice…" She repeated it softly. then looked back at him.

"…Then I'll surpass you, Haruto." For the first time—She said his name. And something clicked.

SYSTEM INTERVENTION

A voice echoed—

Not from the world, not from Heaven, from something deeper.

[System Override Accepted]

[User Recognized: Haruto]

[Condition Met: External Equal Entity Generated]

Haruto frowned slightly. "…You again?"

[New Directive Issued]

A screen—No. A conceptual command appeared in front of him.

QUEST: TRUE OPPOSITION

Objective:

Defeat the entity "Alice" — a being designed to rival and surpass you.

Conditions:

No absolute erasure, No reverting her existence, Victory must be achieved through dominance, not deletion.

Reward:

[Demon-King System Unlocked]

[Custom Evil Piece Set Granted]

Haruto stared at it. Then—Smiled. "…Now you're talking." Alice watched him carefully. "…You're being guided."

"Not really." He shrugged. "…More like entertained."

She stepped forward. Power stabilizing further.

"Then I'll win." Haruto raised his hand slightly. "Try."

The Clash Resumes

But now, there were rules, Not limits—

Structure.

Alice moved Not chaotically but intelligently.

Each attack refined each motion evolving faster than before. Haruto responded—Not passively anymore.

For the first time—He fought back properly.

Their collision created something new, Not destruction.

A battlefield.

A temporary framework formed around them—

allowing their fight to exist without erasing everything instantly.

Blow after blow, Concept against concept Alice adapted, faster. sharper.

She landed another hit. The crack spread across Haruto's shoulder. He grinned.

"You're learning." She vanished. Reappeared behind him "I was made to." A direct strike, This time Haruto caught it, and stopped it.

Silence.

Then he pushed back. Hard. For the first time—

Alice was sent flying. She stabilized mid-air eyes, widening slightly. "…So this is you trying."

Haruto rolled his neck. The cracks on him remained. "…Yeah."

Final Exchange

They both stopped, no movement.

No wasted action, then they moved at the same time.

Collision, everything condensed into a single point—Then Release.

A shockwave tore through the outside. Alice froze, a hand through her chest. Haruto's…

Not Destroyed. Overpowering.

She looked down, then up at him. "…I lost?"

Haruto nodded slightly. "…Yeah."

Silence.

Then she smiled. Not broken, not erased, Satisfied. "…Good." Her body began to dissolve not into nothing but into something else.

[System Activated]

[Quest Complete: TRUE OPPOSITION]

[Reward Granted]

Reality surged.

Return to Existence

The fracture in the sky sealed, the pressure vanished, Everything stabilized. But permanently changed.

Kuoh Town

Haruto stood alone again. Like nothing happened. But then.. Light gathered in front of him. Alice reformed, Stable, alive, Different.

She looked at her hands. Then at him. "…I'm still here."

[Demon-King System Initialized]

A new structure appeared—

far more complex than before.

DEMON-KING PIECES

A system beyond traditional Evil Pieces.

Not bound to devils.

Not bound to hierarchy.

Custom Set Created

King: Haruto

Queen: Alice

Remaining Pieces: Undefined

A symbol appeared on Alice's chest A crest unlike anything in the Underworld She looked at it. Then at him. "…I belong to you?"

Haruto shrugged. "Not really." A pause. "More like you chose to stay."

She stepped closer. "…Then I'll stay as your Queen." A small smile. "Until I surpass you."

Haruto smirked. "…You can try forever."

Dimensional Gap

Ophis watched quietly. "…A new game has begun."

Great Red rumbled "…No." A pause. "…The board itself has changed."

Kuoh Rooftop

Rias felt it. Something new .Something… impossible."…A new King?"

Koneko whispered: "…No."

Akeno narrowed her eyes. "…A Demon King."

Back to Haruto

He looked at Alice. Then in the sky."…Alright." A small grin formed. "…This might not be boring anymore."

Part: 5 Ends

Part: 6 Begins: The Board Resets

Kuoh Town — Morning

Everything looked normal, Too normal, Students walked, Cars passed, Wind blew.

But underneath—

Reality had… structure now, a new one.

At the center of it—

Haruto sat at his desk, staring out the window. Bored again.

Alice stood beside him. Not sitting, not pretending, just… there.

Completely unfazed by human behavior.

A classmate whispered:

"…Who is that girl?"

"…Transfer student?"

"…She's been standing there all morning…"

Alice tilted her head slightly. "…They're observing me."

Haruto didn't look away from the window.

"…Yeah. Humans do that."

"…Should I respond?"

"…Up to you."

She thought for a second. Then—"Hello."

Half the class flinched.

Haruto sighed."…You're gonna stand out."

"…Is that inefficient?"

"…Very."

She nodded.

Then—sat down, perfect posture, unnaturally perfect.

Still stood out.

Haruto glanced at her. "…You're not even trying to blend in."

"…Blending is unnecessary."

"…It makes things less annoying."

A pause.

Alice adjusted slightly in her seat. Less perfect, Still weird.

"…Acceptable?"

"…Better."

Elsewhere — Occult Research Club

Rias slammed her hands on the table.

"…We need to confirm it."

Akeno nodded. "…That presence yesterday… it wasn't just Haruto anymore."

Koneko spoke quietly: "…There are two now."

Rias clenched her fist. "…A King… and a Queen."

The door opened. Everyone froze.

Haruto stood there Alice behind him.

Silence.

Rias narrowed her eyes. "…So it's true."

Her gaze shifted to Alice. "…You're not human."

Alice met her eyes. "…Correct."

Akeno smiled, but there was tension behind it. "…And your relationship with him?"

Alice answered instantly: "…I am his Queen."

Silence.

Rias' aura flared slightly. "…That title isn't something you just claim."

Haruto walked in casually. "…She didn't claim it."

He sat down like he owned the place.

"…I got a system."

That sentence alone—made the entire room tense.

Koneko's eyes widened."A system…?"

Haruto leaned back. "…Yeah…Demon-King Pieces."

Akeno's smile faded slightly. "…That's not part of any known power structure."

"…Yeah."

Rias stepped forward. "Explain."

Haruto looked at her.Then—shrugged.

"…I beat her." He pointed at Alice. "…Got a reward."

Silence.

Rias blinked. "…That's it?"

"…Yeah."

Akeno covered her mouth, amused.

"…How… simple."

Alice spoke: "…It was not simple."

Everyone looked at her. She continued:

"…I was designed to surpass him." A pause.

"…I failed." Another pause. "…I will try again." Rias studied her carefully.

No arrogance.

No malice.

Just… certainty.

"…And until then?" Alice stepped closer to Haruto.

"…I remain his Queen." The room went quiet again.

Power Shift

Rias could feel it clearly now.

Not devil, not angel, not fallen.

Something outside the system.

And yet—Structured.

Organized.

Dangerous.

"You're building something."Haruto shrugged. "…Didn't plan to."

A pause. "…But I guess I am now."

System Notification

Only Haruto and Alice could see it.

[Demon-King System Update]

[Current Pieces: 2/16]

[King: Haruto]

[Queen: Alice]

[Objective Unlocked:]

• Assemble Your Board

• Acquire new pieces

• Expand influence

• Establish dominance over all systems

Haruto read it.

Then sighed. "…This is turning into work."

Alice looked at him. "…Then delegate." He glanced at her.

Then smirked slightly. "…That's your job, Queen."

A small pause. Alice nodded. "Understood."

She turned—looked at Rias and the others.

Analyzing.

Evaluating.

Not as enemies.

But as—potential pieces.

Koneko took a step back instinctively.

"…She's looking at us like—"

Akeno finished quietly: "…Like we're options."

Rias didn't move. Instead— she smiled. Not intimidated.

Challenged.

"…If this is a game—" Her power flared slightly.

"…Then don't expect us to just sit still." Haruto stood up.

"…Good."A small grin. "…That'd be boring."

Rooftop — Later

Haruto stood at the edge.

Alice beside him. Looking over Kuoh. "…So."He glanced at her.

"…Got any ideas?" Alice answered immediately:

"…Yes."

A pause.

"…We start by selecting our next piece. "Who?" She looked forward.

Eyes locking onto the Occult Research Club building. "…One of them."

Haruto chuckled. "That's gonna be messy."

Alice tilted her head slightly. "Messy is acceptable."

A small silence, wind passed then—

Haruto smiled. "…Alright." His eyes sharpened slightly. "…Let's play."

Somewhere Far Away

Something stirred. Not part of the old system. Not part of Haruto's.

Watching, waiting. "…So it begins."
