Daniella immediately moved backward toward Don Alejandro afterward, like someone seeking protection after being unfairly bullied. Her expression shifted from icy fury to something almost resembling wounded innocence.
"Father," she muttered angrily, her voice carrying a note of genuine offense, "I'm a good person."
Luciano nearly choked beside her, his eyes widening in disbelief. Daniella ignored him completely, her focus entirely on the Delacroix family.
"Since yesterday evening they've been accusing me without any evidence," she continued, gesturing sharply toward the other side of the room. "First I'm somebody's hidden daughter. Then my mother becomes a villain. Then suddenly everybody is screaming before breakfast."
Honestly, she looked genuinely offended now, her jaw tight and her arms crossed defensively over her chest. The early hour, the lack of food, and the relentless accusations had worn her patience down to nothing.
