The security jeep rolled steadily out of the Torres Mendoza Estate and onto the highway, its headlights cutting through the darkness while another security vehicle followed a short distance behind.
For several minutes, neither Luciano nor Thiago spoke. Both men leaned back in their seats, mentally and physically exhausted after everything that had happened throughout the day.
The silence inside the vehicle wasn't uncomfortable, but it carried the weight of a day neither of them had expected.
Luciano was eventually the first to speak. Running a hand through his hair, he let out a long, frustrated sigh before clicking his tongue.
"Damn... what a terrible day. I didn't even get the chance to buy anything for Daniella and the boys."
