The alarms in the Directorate facility continued to echo through the halls.
Agents moved quickly between command stations while large holographic screens displayed energy readings from across northern India.
The crimson signal was impossible to ignore now.
It pulsed on the map like a burning star.
Inside the command center, Director Meera stood with her arms crossed while several technicians monitored the data.
"Update," she said calmly.
One of the analysts replied immediately.
"The energy signature has stabilized. It's moving slowly now."
Arjun frowned.
"Slowly?"
"Yes."
The analyst zoomed the map closer.
"He's not rushing anymore."
Dev, Kabir, Sana, and Aadhya had just entered the room when they heard that.
Kabir blinked.
"Wait… the guy who can cross mountains in hours suddenly decides to walk slowly?"
Dev muttered,
"That sounds like confidence."
Sana nodded.
"He's not in a hurry because he knows we can't stop him."
No one disagreed.
Aadhya stared at the glowing crimson signal.
Even from inside the facility she could feel it.
A faint pressure in the air.
Like a storm slowly approaching.
Her serpent mark pulsed again beneath her collarbone.
Warm.
Restless.
Arjun noticed.
"You feel it too, right?"
Aadhya nodded slowly.
"It feels… heavy."
Director Meera turned toward them.
"That's the Dragon Bloodline."
She pointed to the map.
"For centuries their power was known for overwhelming force."
Kabir sighed.
"Great. So the final boss has entered the map."
Dev smirked.
"Then we just need to get stronger faster."
Meera looked directly at Aadhya.
"And that's exactly what we're going to do."
Later that evening…
The training arena had been upgraded again.
Large energy generators surrounded the circular room.
A powerful barrier covered the entire area.
Kabir stared at the machines nervously.
"I don't like the look of this."
Dev cracked his knuckles.
"I do."
Arjun stood in the center.
"Today we begin combat simulation training."
Sana raised an eyebrow.
"Simulation?"
Arjun pressed a control button.
The arena lights dimmed.
Suddenly the floor began projecting a holographic environment.
Trees appeared.
Rocks.
A forest battlefield.
Kabir's eyes widened.
"Oh wow."
The simulation looked almost real.
Arjun continued explaining.
"These machines will create combat opponents using recorded battle data."
Dev grinned.
"So basically we fight virtual enemies."
"Exactly."
Arjun looked at Aadhya.
"But this time the enemy will be based on Dragon hunter combat patterns."
Kabir groaned.
"So the guys who nearly killed us."
"Yes."
The simulation activated.
Three red holographic figures appeared in the forest.
Dragon hunters.
Their glowing blades ignited.
Kabir immediately stepped behind Dev.
"Okay I'm standing behind the tank."
Dev rolled his eyes.
"You're useless."
The holographic hunters attacked instantly.
The first rushed toward Dev.
Dev stomped his foot against the ground.
Stone spikes erupted from the simulated earth.
The hunter jumped aside but Dev launched more rock fragments toward him.
Kabir raised his hands.
A glowing blue shield formed around Sana and Aadhya.
"Barrier ready!"
Sana dashed forward with incredible speed.
Her movements blurred as she kicked the second hunter backward.
Aadhya watched the fight for a moment.
Then she focused.
The serpent mark began glowing again.
Emerald energy spread across her arms.
Arjun watched from the control platform.
"Don't rush," he muttered.
The third hunter rushed toward Aadhya.
Blade raised.
She didn't panic this time.
Instead she stepped forward.
The serpent aura appeared behind her again.
Larger.
More detailed.
The ghostly serpent opened its jaws.
The hunter attacked.
Aadhya raised her hand.
A bright emerald shield formed instantly.
The blade struck the barrier and bounced away.
Then she moved.
The serpent aura lunged forward.
The hunter shattered into glowing fragments.
Kabir stared in shock.
"Okay that looked way cooler than last time."
Dev laughed.
"Now we're talking."
But the simulation didn't end.
Instead…
More enemies appeared.
Five this time.
Kabir's smile vanished.
"…why are there more?"
Arjun answered calmly from above.
"Because Rudra won't come alone."
Hours passed.
The training became harder and harder.
Each simulation wave introduced stronger opponents.
By the time the final round ended, everyone was exhausted.
Kabir collapsed onto the floor.
"I think my brain is fried."
Dev sat beside him breathing heavily.
"Worth it though."
Sana looked at Aadhya.
"You're improving quickly."
Aadhya wiped sweat from her forehead.
"It still feels like I'm learning too slowly."
Arjun walked down from the platform.
"You're learning exactly as fast as you need to."
Aadhya looked at him.
"What if it's not enough?"
Arjun didn't answer immediately.
Finally he said quietly,
"Then we adapt."
Meanwhile…
Several hundred kilometers away.
Night covered the empty highway.
A single figure walked down the road.
Rudra.
His crimson aura flickered faintly in the darkness.
Cars passed occasionally, their drivers unaware of the power walking beside them.
Rudra stopped at a roadside hill overlooking the distant city lights.
Delhi.
He could feel the serpent energy clearly now.
A faint emerald pulse somewhere inside the city.
His crimson eyes glowed softly.
"So that's where you are."
Behind him, two Dragon warriors appeared silently.
"My lord."
Rudra didn't turn.
"The Directorate facility is somewhere beneath the city."
The warrior continued.
"Our scouts confirmed heavy defenses."
Rudra smiled slightly.
"Good."
The warriors looked confused.
"My lord?"
"The Serpent Bloodline deserves a proper battlefield."
He looked toward the glowing skyline.
"And this city will be perfect."
Back at the Directorate facility…
Director Meera stood alone in the observation room.
She watched the training arena below where Aadhya and the others were recovering.
A technician approached nervously.
"Director… we detected Rudra again."
Meera didn't turn.
"How close?"
The technician hesitated.
"Less than two hundred kilometers."
Meera's expression hardened.
"Faster than expected."
She looked down at Aadhya again.
"Prepare the emergency defense protocol."
The technician's eyes widened.
"Already?"
"Yes."
Because if Rudra arrived…
The battle wouldn't be small.
It would be catastrophic.
In the arena…
Aadhya stood quietly near the center again.
Her friends had already left to rest.
But she stayed behind.
She closed her eyes.
The serpent mark glowed softly.
Emerald energy slowly formed in her palm.
This time the energy remained stable.
Calm.
Controlled.
She smiled slightly.
"Better."
But then—
Suddenly—
The energy flickered violently.
Her eyes opened.
The serpent mark burned sharply.
Much stronger than before.
Like it had sensed something powerful.
Above her, the facility alarms suddenly activated again.
WARNING – EXTREME ENERGY SIGNATURE DETECTED
Aadhya's heart skipped.
In the command center, the holographic map flashed red.
The crimson signal had stopped moving.
Director Meera stared at the screen.
"He stopped."
Arjun asked quickly,
"Where?"
The technician zoomed in.
Everyone in the room froze.
The signal was now just outside the city.
Only a few kilometers away.
Arjun muttered quietly,
"He's already here."
Outside the city…
Rudra stood on a hill overlooking the glowing skyline.
The wind moved his coat slowly.
His crimson aura began expanding across the ground.
He could feel the serpent energy clearly now.
Closer than ever.
He smiled.
"For centuries…"
he whispered.
"The world forgot about us."
His crimson eyes burned in the darkness.
"But tomorrow…"
he looked toward the city.
"…the Dragon Bloodline will remind them."
Far below the ground…
Inside the hidden Directorate facility…
Aadhya's serpent mark burned brighter than ever before.
Because the Dragon King had finally arrived.
