Chapter 26 - Alliance of Opposites

The air hadn't settled.

Not after the battle.

Not after the intrusion.

And definitely not after what Rudra just said.

"…it will erase you."

Those words still echoed in everyone's mind.

Silence filled the broken corridor.

Heavy.

Uncomfortable.

Uncertain.

Kabir was the first to react.

"…I officially vote we don't deal with that."

Dev sighed.

"Yeah, let's just pretend it doesn't exist."

Sana didn't even look at them.

Her eyes were locked on Rudra.

"…you're serious."

It wasn't a question.

Rudra didn't reply immediately.

But his silence—

Was enough.

Aadhya stepped forward.

Her voice calm.

"…what do you know?"

Rudra's gaze shifted to her.

Sharp.

Focused.

"More than you."

A pause.

"Less than I want to."

That answer didn't help.

At all.

Kabir threw his hands up.

"Wow. Amazing. Very helpful."

Dev smirked slightly.

"Classic."

But Sana didn't break focus.

"…start with one thing."

Her voice steady.

"Why didn't you stop it?"

Rudra's expression changed slightly.

Not guilt.

Not regret.

Something colder.

"…because I couldn't."

Silence.

That hit differently.

Dev's smirk disappeared.

"…you're kidding."

Rudra looked at him.

"I don't joke."

A pause.

"That thing… doesn't follow the same laws."

"We fight using energy, force, structure."

"It doesn't."

Aadhya spoke quietly,

"It ignored everything."

Rudra nodded.

"Yes."

"But you…"

His eyes sharpened.

"…didn't."

All eyes turned to Aadhya.

Kabir blinked.

"…main character moment confirmed."

Sana ignored him.

"…why her?"

Rudra answered without hesitation.

"Because she's incomplete."

Confusion spread instantly.

Kabir frowned.

"…how is that a good thing?"

Rudra continued,

"Complete systems follow rules."

"Incomplete systems…"

A pause.

"…create new ones."

Silence.

Dev slowly nodded.

"…so she's unpredictable."

Rudra confirmed,

"Exactly."

"And that's the only reason she survived."

Aadhya didn't react.

But her mind processed every word.

"…then what happens when I become complete?"

Rudra looked at her for a long moment.

Then said simply—

"You either surpass the system…"

"…or get bound by it."

That answer wasn't comforting.

At all.

Meera stepped forward.

Her tone sharp.

"Enough philosophy."

"We need solutions."

Rudra glanced at her.

"For once, I agree."

Kabir muttered,

"…this is getting weirder by the second."

Dev crossed his arms.

"…so what's the plan?"

Rudra didn't hesitate.

"We accelerate her growth."

Sana frowned.

"…how?"

Rudra's aura flickered slightly.

"By forcing it."

Kabir immediately shook his head.

"Nope."

"No forcing."

"We just survived one near-death experience."

Dev smirked.

"He's not wrong though."

Aadhya looked at Rudra.

"…what do you mean by forcing it?"

Rudra stepped closer.

The air grew slightly warmer.

"Your control is unstable."

"Your synchronization is incomplete."

"You reached that state…"

"…by instinct."

A pause.

"That's not enough."

Sana added,

"She needs consistency."

Rudra nodded.

"Yes."

"And pressure."

Meera crossed her arms.

"You're suggesting combat training."

Rudra corrected her.

"Not training."

A pause.

"Evolution."

Silence.

Kabir whispered,

"…same thing but sounds scarier."

Dev chuckled.

"…way scarier."

Aadhya didn't look away.

"…and you'll do it?"

Rudra's answer was immediate.

"Yes."

That shocked everyone.

Kabir literally pointed at him.

"YOU??"

"Mr. 'I almost destroyed you guys'??"

Dev smirked.

"Honestly, makes sense."

Sana nodded slightly.

"…he's the only one strong enough."

Meera didn't like it.

That much was obvious.

"…this is a risk."

Rudra looked at her calmly.

"Everything right now is."

A pause.

"But unlike you…"

His eyes sharpened slightly.

"I don't intend to lose."

Silence.

Tension.

Thick.

Aadhya stepped forward.

"…I'll do it."

Everyone turned to her.

Kabir frowned.

"…you sure?"

Dev looked serious now.

"This won't be like before."

Sana added,

"No holding back."

Aadhya nodded.

"I know."

A pause.

Her voice steadier than ever.

"…that's exactly why I need it."

Rudra watched her for a moment.

Then—

A faint smile appeared.

"Good."

The air shifted again.

Not hostile.

But intense.

"Then we begin immediately."

Kabir panicked.

"WAIT—NOW??"

Dev laughed.

"Of course now."

Sana stepped back slightly.

Creating space.

Meera sighed.

"…this is insane."

Rudra raised his hand slightly.

Crimson energy flickered.

Controlled.

Contained.

"Show me your current limit."

Aadhya stepped forward.

The serpent emerged behind her again.

Calm.

Coiled.

Ready.

Her breathing slowed.

Focus sharpened.

"…I won't hold back either."

Rudra's smile widened slightly.

"That's the point."

And then—

They moved.

Simultaneously.

Aadhya struck first.

Fast.

Precise.

The serpent flowed with her movement.

Rudra blocked—

But didn't counter immediately.

He observed.

Analyzed.

Her rhythm.

Her timing.

Her intent.

"Better," he muttered.

Aadhya didn't stop.

Second strike.

Third.

Each one smoother.

More controlled.

Rudra deflected them all—

Minimal movement.

Maximum efficiency.

"Your control improved."

A pause.

"But your intent is scattered."

Aadhya narrowed her eyes.

"…what does that mean?"

Rudra moved.

Suddenly.

His strike came fast—

Aadhya barely reacted.

She blocked—

But the impact pushed her back.

"Your mind is divided."

Rudra stepped forward again.

"Part of you fights."

Another strike.

"Part of you observes."

Another.

"Part of you hesitates."

Aadhya gritted her teeth.

"…!"

She countered—

A clean strike—

Rudra caught her wrist.

Stopped completely.

"Until you unify that…"

His grip tightened slightly.

"…you'll never reach completion."

He pushed her back.

Not violently.

But firmly.

Aadhya landed—

Stable.

But breathing heavier now.

Sana watched carefully.

"…he's not attacking to win."

Dev nodded.

"He's breaking her patterns."

Kabir whispered,

"…this is intense."

Rudra raised his hand again.

"This time…"

His aura sharpened slightly.

"…focus on one thing."

Aadhya steadied herself.

"…what?"

Rudra's answer was simple.

"Control."

Silence.

Then—

He attacked again.

Faster.

Stronger.

Aadhya reacted—

But this time—

She didn't rush.

Didn't overthink.

Didn't split her focus.

She moved—

Smooth.

Clean.

The serpent followed perfectly.

Her defense held.

Rudra's eyes flickered.

"…good."

He increased pressure.

More speed.

More force.

Aadhya adapted.

Step by step.

Movement by movement.

Her breathing synced.

Her mind cleared.

Everything unnecessary—

Faded.

Dev whispered,

"…she's changing again."

Sana nodded.

"…she's refining it."

Kabir stared.

"…she's scary now."

Rudra attacked again—

A powerful strike—

Aadhya stepped inside—

Deflected—

Countered—

BOOM.

A clean hit.

Rudra slid back slightly.

Not surprised.

Satisfied.

"Better."

Aadhya stood firm.

Calm.

Focused.

No wasted movement.

No hesitation.

Just control.

Rudra exhaled slowly.

"Yes…"

His aura flared slightly.

"This is the path."

He stepped forward again.

"But we're far from done."

The air grew heavier once more.

But this time—

It wasn't fear.

It was purpose.

Because now—

This wasn't a battle.

It was preparation.

An alliance.

Temporary.

Unstable.

But necessary.

Dragon and Serpent.

Opposites.

Working together.

Not for balance.

Not for dominance.

But for survival.

And far away—

Beyond their reach—

In a space where reality itself bent—

The shadowed figure stood still.

Watching.

Observing.

Calculating.

"…progress detected."

A pause.

"Adjustment required."

The darkness around it shifted.

Expanding.

Evolving.

Because while they were preparing—

Something else…

Was adapting too.

And unlike them—

It wasn't bound by limits.

The next encounter—

Wouldn't be a test.

It would be execution.

And only one side…

Would remain.
