When she entered her room, the first thing she heard was her kid's voice. They came running and hugged her. She leveled down and hugged them back. "Mommy, we have been looking for you since we woke up. Arya grumbled. "Awnn... mummy is so sorry. Stephanie apologised to her children. She looked up and the first thing she saw was the frowning face of Phubert. Michael and Edna were also there in the room. "Where did you go? Did you know how worried I was?" Phubert questioned? "I'm sorry." "Why was Mister Gray the one who dropped you here?" Stephanie bit her lips. 'How did they know?' She questioned herself. "I... I... ermm Edna please take the kids to their room? Edna nodded and said, "Hey kids come with me. Wanna play with the laptop? Come on, let me teach you how to play with it." The children went and took Edna hand and walked with her to their room. When they were gone, Stephanie stood up and went to the monocouch and sat down. She looked down, playing with her fingers. "Steph..." Phubert called. Stephanie took in a deep breath. She knew trouble will come after she revealed the truth. "It's Mister Gray. He is the father of Arya and Obed. He is the man you have been looking for all this years. I'm sorry for not telling you this before." At her revelation, Phubert was way more than furious. He stood up and began to walk to and fro in the room. Invisible flames began to come out of his nose and ears. Arthur please calm down. "Don't f****** tell me to calm down Stephanie Lionel. Why didn't you tell me this earlier? I am your f****** family. I am suppose to take care of you, not for you to get messed up while I am happy. You have to trust me, just the way I trusted you." Stephanie felt so bad. Phubert has never been this furious before. He has never ever raised his voice at her. "You should calm down and let her explain herself. Besides, the kids might hear you. What will they think if they hear you shouting like this?" Michael's words seems to work a little.That was when the woman in tears had the chance to explain. "I was scared of your reaction and I didn't want your happiness to be cut short because of me. I witnessed how you worked so hard and waited for it to work out. I couldn't stand and watch all your hardwork go invain. And I didn't want our peaceful lives to be ruined and neither did I want to lose my children." At the end of her words, the doorbell ranked. Michael was the one who went to open the door. As soon as Phubert saw Andrew, he walked straight to him, he punched him hard. Andrew feeling wronged, also punched him back. Just like that the two men indulged in a hot fight. Michael tried to separate them but he became the third person.
"Please stop... stop fighting. I'm begging you." Stephanie said but the men were too busy to hear her. Not knowing what to do, she picked a flower vase from the cabinet and smash it on the floor. Hearing the breaking sound of the vase, the trio stopped fighting. Stephanie angriedly walked to the door and open it wider for them to leave. "Leave! Get out of here. If you are going to fight like this, then there is no use for you guys being here. Get out of here." The three men left the apartment out of guilt.
Days passed and things weren't going well between the three men and Stephanie. She completely ignored them. Phubert tried to talk to her at work while Andrew tried to take advantage of going to see the children to talk to her. Micheal on the other hand called and texted at her. But none of them were successful.
During the next weekend, Phubert went to Stephanie's apartment, but she wasn't there. It was Edna who opened the door for him. "Hey." Phubert greeted. Edna just nodded with a quiet smile before opening the door wider for him to walk in. "Ermm..." "Stephanie is not around. Do you need anything while waiting for her." Edna asked. "No I'm good." Phubert answered.
Edna went back to the kitchen to continue what she was do which was baking. After some minutes the door bell rang again and Phubert stood up to open it, but Edna came from the kitchen and told him to sit back, she will receive the person. This time, it was Michael and Andrew. Phubert frown seeing Andrew but the man ignored him completely. When Edna saw Phubert's expression, she lamented, "Stop making the face. Do you want Steph to sack you out like she did last time." Phubert felt scolded and unwillingly fixed his expression. "If you are all here, then listen, you all mean something to Steph and you all have a place in her heart. So you should stop fighting for something you already have. Stop trying to have her for yourselves...Don't be selfish." Edna said and left back to the kitchen, leaving them to think about what she said. Soon after, Stephanie came back and she was surprised to find the three men of her life sitting together and they... they were conversing like they been friends for a very long time. "Hey Steph..." Michael was the first to see her. The other two men turned their heads to her and greeted. "Hey." "Hi." "Is everything all right?" Stephanie asked. Does something seems to be wrong?" Phubert asked back. Stephanie shook her head and walked passed them to the kitchen. Edna has taken the cake out of the oven when Stephanie approached her and asked, "Is there something I need to know?" "Is there something you wanna know?" Edna asked back. "No, it's...it's just that..." "You should be happy instead of surprise. Stop asking questions and go out." Edna pushed Stephanie out of the kitchen. The men were still conversing when she went back to the living room. "Do you guys want anything?" "Yes." "Yes." "Yes." They voiced simultaneously. "Okay, what do you want?" She asked. "Your forgiveness." They said yet again together. "If I haven't him forgiven you yet, I wouldn't have allowed you to stay here the moment I saw you." "Oh good news. Then we can celebrate your birthday together." Andrew said. "Today is not..." Stephanie's mouth fell into an 'O' shape realizing that date. It was actually her birthday. Just then Arya came running to her mother. Mommy look what I made for you." Arya said handing her mother beaded bracelet. "Awnn... Thanks so much princess.I love it and I love you more." Stephanie declared. "I love you too Mommy." The girl said. "Mummy, you are giving all the love to earthquake." "No, you also have yours come here." Obed walked up to his mother while holding a painting. Stephanie held his cheek and kissed him all over his face. "Mummy, I didn't get that much kisses." The adults in the room laughed because of the girl's jealousy. "Okay. Here..." Stephanie kiss the girl all over her face. "Here mommy earthquake taught me how to do painting, so I thought of painting for you as my first work. Obed cooed. "Thanks so much my prince." "So heart touching. Its time to celebrate." Edna announced. She was holding in her hand, a castella cake and champagne. She walked forward and placed the cake on the centre table. "Wow, aunt you make such a beautiful cake for mommy's birthday. You are so great." Arya voiced. "Of course...I am baby. Come on, let's go and bring the glasses." Edna said and walked away with Arya holding her hand. When they brought back the glass, all of them together, sang a happy birthday song for Stephanie. Stephanie cut the cake and made her wishes before they dived into eating mode.
Afrer that, they blindfolds Stephanie, telling her they had a bigger surprise for her. Phubert was the one who undid the blind fold when they got to the venue. When Stephanie opened her eyes, what she saw made her jaw dropped. "You, how did... you?" She was so astonished that she couldn't make up the full sentence. "Hey take your time. We don't want you to faint before the main event starts. Stephanie took in deep breath in and out before saying, "Thank you guys so much. I am so grateful I don't even know what to say to express how happy I am. I'm really thankful. You don't have to say anything." Phubert said. "Let's go and prepare." Edna said. All of them went to their various home and prepared except for Edna, who went with Stephanie to the spa for a full body treatment. They went back to Stephanie apartment after that. It was already six and preparing themselves took another two hours since they had to wait four the dress Eunice specially made for Stephanie.
