Chapter 1 - 1

Kiruyin walked towards mall with his left hand in his pocket. His right hand holding another latte. He was thinking about his exchange with Suzune Horikita, the Student Council Presidents little sister, perhaps? She could be his cousin as well.

Not that he cared. He will think of her as his little sister because that's what his gut feelings telling him.

From the start, Kiruyin never intended to sell the full information of what he has gathered. That's for his class. But if he can get some fat points out of selling partial information, then why not?

He said 1 million points to plant the weight of his knowledge into Horikita's subconscious mind. So, when he downgraded, it still felt a big deal to her. That's why she paid 50,000 points. The invisible pressure from the original amount.

But one thing that Horikita missed was that he never mentioned any penalty for not paying after getting the information from him.

She could have said that it didn't satisfy her, or she already knew that. And Kiruyin would have had no way to enforce any penalty on her because the NDA didn't mention any. Besides, Kiruyin not even for one second thought that the contract was of any value.

Because, where is the notary? Without one, even if Horikita reveals his name later, he won't have any credibility at all.

Instead, he may get in trouble if Horikita accuses him of fraud or identity theft because of the signature. And there would be nothing he could do because there was no notary to serve as the official witness.

'Horikita-Senpai's little sister is kinda naive for this kind of school isn't she?'

Kiruyin had honestly expected her to take advantage of the loophole. Or at least notice. But she did neither. Her whole focus was on something else entirely. Something she is desperate for, even probably obsessing over.

Missing a crucial loophole in the NDA. But most importantly, she wasn't the kind to go back on her words. That's good and bad at the same time.

'I really need to keep my curiosity in check. Or someday, I wil fuck myself so bad that I won't be able to walk.'

When Horikita and him were discussing price, Kiruyin suddenly got curious as to what reason Horikita-Senpai's little sister was placed among trashes. He even wrote down such self-destructive contract knowing full well that it could be the end of him.

But he got his answer. Suzune Horikita is too proud to go back on her words, too cynical to lower herself by admitting weakness and too obsessed with something that she lost sense of herself.

'Oh well. That's that. But am I bring followed? It hasn't even been that long and I'm already being targeted? Is my face that punch able? Mom! You married a useless man I tell you!!'

He intenternally cursed his useless old man before stopping and turning to the one following him. It was the same girl from before. The thrill seeker girl. She walked up to Kiruyin with her cold expression. She was holding a bag, which has a pack of instant noodles.

"Um. Can I help you with something? I noticed that you have been following me for a while."

Kiruyin had noticed her from the moment he left the convince store. She was about to approach him but Horikita beat her to it. From then, she has been lurking in the shadows...

"I wanted to express my gratitude. This is a thank you gift. Thanks for warning me. But for context, I would have put it back."

"I know. But thanks for the gift. That very nice of you."

Kiruyin accepted the gift without much drama. He rarely gets gifts. The ones he get are occasional eviction threats from his cheap father. So, he accepted the not so kind gesture with a smile.

After that, the girl nodded and walked away. He looked at the bag. It will be a hassle to carry it around the mall. So he found a nearby shop and left it there for keepsake. Near the mall was a bustling scene. Students wearing red blazers and green plants were walking around while chatting.

'Not gonna lie bro, the colour choice for the school uniform is kinda cringe. Did the school do it intentionally to assert dominance by forcing rebellious ones to wear something they don't like?'

Kiruyin made a conspiracy theory as he walked into the mall. The rich smell of the mall hit his nostrils. He didn't wait to enjoy. There will be plenty of time in the future. Right now, clothes takes priority. He went to the second floor through the escalator and found a store of well known brand for men. He entered and went through the collection.

Kiruyin's priority is comfort over style. He likes simple things anyway. He bought 3 sets of cloths and underwear. Then a short and a comfortable gray t-shirt. As for night wear?

It got lost in the road of life.

Kiruyin quickly made the purchase. Then looked for a shop where he can buy slippers. Always wearing shoes isn't his fort. That's not comfy at all. He quickly found one and bought a slipper of his size.

Kiruyin shoping expedition is complete!

Kiruyin almost heard a system notification in his mind. But it was just the voice in his mind trolling him.

All it took him was 10 minutes to complete the whole shopping trip!

Kiruyin was inclined and looking down on the first floor clearing from second floor. Just seeing the girls coming in to shop made chill run down his spine. Horror of going shopping with his mom reappearing as PTSD.

"Evil thought! Bad thoughts! Go away! Go away!"

He started chant and not think about the absolute nightmare of an experience. He really thought he would die out of boredom that day.

"Hm?"

As Kiruyin was trying to distract himself, he noticed and group of girls enter. Lead by the push-Ichinose from his class. He frowned. His gut feeling ringing alarm that if he got spotted something bad will happen.

So, instead of turning around and bolting like Usain Bolt and increasing the chances of getting noticed through their peripheral vision because of sudden movement, he released a long breath.

Relaxed his body. Slowly bent and picked up the bags. He then started to walk leisurely. Shoulders relaxed. Posture slightly hunched forward. He brought his bangs front of his face. Head down as he walked. Perfectly blending in with the crowd.

'Cid would be proud.'

Kiruyin intended to go to the otherside of where he was before and go down through the elevator. Ignoring the Ichinose group. He looked at the group of girls chatting happily while climbing up to the second floor. He noticed a fake in that group of goody two shoes. Who was pretending to be a goody two shows.

Her name was Honami Yuki or something. Not that it matters.

'Let's see what you nincompoops do after I reveal that individual points can be exchanged into real money after graduation.'

And evil smile involuntarily formed in Kiruyin's face. Thinking of ruining their enjoyment. He lowered his head even more to be not noticed. His smile may scare someone to death.

He took the elevator and went down. He made a swift exit. Stopped at a restaurant to eat. He waited for the food and browsed through the school campus map. He knew how to make money. And fast.

But before everything. He needed to eat as he is going to be busy the whole day. He had ordered chicken cheese pasta with extra toppings. He enjoyed his meal then exited after he paid the bill. He picked up the gift the thrill seeker girl had given him from where he left it and tipped 100 points to the keeper.

He quickly made his way to the dormitory. The dorm was relatively empty. Most of the first years were exploring the campus. Kiruyin's room was on the fourth floor.

The dorm doesn't have much restrictions other then boys not being allowed in the girls floors after 10 A.M. Kiruyin again realized that this school is basically Eren whispering to the students to have inappropriate relationships. Boys can't go down. But girls can certainly come up.

The loophole made Kiruyin scoff. The elevator door opened and he stopped infront of his assigned room unlocj it.

[404]

"Heh~. Should I report to the school that my room is not found?"

He murmured with a smirk as he pulled open the door. He entered the room and closed the door. The dorm was a very convenient for one person. A bed, bathroom. Kitchen. Table. TV for entertainment. Air conditioner. Everything one needs to live comfortably. And the room was very clean.

'This school takes quite the attention towards cleaning doesn't it?'

Kiruyin threw the bags into a random corner for now. He opened the window doors to the balcony. He could see the sea and the city line from his floor. He stood in the balcony, inclined to the railing and enjoying the view for few moments before getting inside.

He walked inside the bathroom and stood infront of the mirror. The bathroom was spotless.

But that wasn't on Kiruyin's focus. He looked at his reflection. Neatly combed hair with only his bang being asymmetric. Pressed clothes.

Kiruyin suddenly started to tussle his hair aggressively. He stopped, looked from different direction before staring again. He did it few more times until his hair looked like he has pulled on them out of frustration.

"Perfect."

He smiled. Then got out of the bathroom and jumped onto his bed. Tossing and turning aggressively. Trying to create wrinkles on the clothes. He would stop occasionally to take rest and looked at his reflection in the mirror. He did that few more times before he looked like a person at the peak of distress.

"Slurp~tu~Noice~."

Kiruyin then walked outside of his dorm. He pulled out a Point Storage card he bought from the vending machine for 1000 points on the way back.

He transferred 100,000 points inside the card. Leaving him a pitiful amount of 22,368 points. After all the shopping and buying stuff, he nearly spent 20,000 points. His initial budget was 20,000 to begin with. So there was no hard feeling.

Kiruyin into the empty elevator. Instead of putting the Point Storage card into his pocket, he tucked it inside his shirt. Tucked it inside the inner belt.

Kiruyin's red blazers were open. Revealing his white shirt and red tie under underneath. He looked at his reflection on the elevators clear steel walls and couldn't help but nod in appreciation. He really looked like a desperate person who is on verge of losing everything by gambling.

That's the theme he came up with. He is going to the chess club to bet with seniors. Bet with his smart phone because no first year would normally buy a Point Storage card. That's why he is tucking the card inside his shirt instead of his pocket.

Just to keep his the voice in his mind from worring sick.

The pitiful point will indicate that he was gambling, effectively making them look down on him thus lowering their guard. So when they lose, they can attribute it to them looking down on him. Losing again, they can reevaluate him. But he still won't be a threat. By the time he becomes a threat in their brain, he possibly will amass a fortune.

Although gambling wasn't allowed, nobody stopped betting right?

Kiruyin licked his lips in anticipation. He walked out of the dorm and made his way towards the chess club. His first target.

Although Kiruyin doesn't like to boast, he was a chess grandmaster back in middle school. Of course no one knew. He was one in an online chess game. So he was fairly sure that he is good at chess.

He arrived infront of a building where various indoor spots clubs are located. The first place he want was inside the restroom for one last check. After everything was set, he walked towards the chess club room.

He adjusted his posture and facial expression as he went. His arms a bit apart from his torso. Fists clenched. Brows frowned. Lips sealed in a thin line. His whole vibe radiated "The frustrated guy".

He arrived and opened the door. He instantly attracted all the attention in the room. He felt a bit awkward but he kept his act.

"Senpais! I'm here to make bet with you guy! If you don't mind, we can bet points and settle through a chess match! Winner takes it all!"

His declaration stunned the room for a moment before sneakers rang out.

A senpai rough exterior and musculer body walked up to Kiruyin.

"Haha~. Well well kid. Gambling on the first day? You look like you lose quite a bit? Are you looking g down on us?"

"No! Not at all senpai! I'm just a but confident that I can win a match or two. And get some points back... because well, you know."

Kiruyin hassitated for a moment. His eyes downcast. Bitting his lips. Shoulders tense. He looked desperate and embarrassed at the same time. The senpai smirked with a predatory glint in his eyes.

After a while, both the senpai and Kiruyin sat face to face with a chess board in the middle.

"How much you want to bet?"

The senpai asked as he took out a Point Storage card. Kiruyin took out his phone and transferred 10,000 points into it. The senpai did the same.

"LOL. This Kouhai is a gambler to the bone. It's the first day yet he barely has 10,000 points. Khakaka~."

Someone joked from the crowd that had involuntarily formed around them. Some laughed which in response, made Kiruyin lower his head in shame.

"Alright. Let's start. Don't cry when you lose."

~A Few Inches Later~

"Wait. Hold on. I wasn't prepared. Let's go again Kouhai."

Kiruyin nodded and again bet 20,000 points with shaky hands. The crowds stifling laughter reached Kiruyin's ears which made him smile internally.

'Looks like I can at least hope for 100,000 points from these kind Senpais.'

He mentally predicted. He won the next match as well. The senpai was unwilling to admit defeat wanted a rematch. Kiruyin bet 40,000 points this time. And this time, the crowd did laugh, but the amused kind. Waiting for Kiruyin's greed to back fire and see his reaction. The senpai also made a bet of 40,000 points.

After an "intensive" battle, Kiruyin won again. He wipped out his sweats and breathed sigh of relief.

"Finally. Made up for the loss."

He murmured under his breath. Just loud enough for the few nearby Senpais to hear. To get on their nerves. Even though they are not participating, when the senpai tries to pool points , they will have a more likelihood of joining in. Thus increasing his profit.

"Takashi you idiot. Can't even beat a Kouhai! Let me, the chess club president show you who it's done."

The previous senpai was kicked out and new one appeared. But he out come didn't change. But one thing that did change was that Kiruyin was standing outside of the clubroom smiling line a loon. He was kicked out by the Senpais after two more games when they realised if they played anymore, they will be ruined.

[Points: 332,368]

'I'm rich!! I'm rich!!'

Kiruyin's heart was jumping in joy. Sweat forming on his body out of excitement. He went to the restroom and entered into the toilet. Took out his Point Storage card and transferred all 320,000 points. Leaving his main account again with a measly 10,000 points.

But he wasn't done yet. Kiruyin had been feeling like his computing power, pattern recognition, logic recognition, analysis power compression, Spatial awareness has improved compared to the morning when he entered the school.

Although he wanted to deny it. The improvements were subtle but noticeable. Like him feeling the thrill seekers stare behind him when he couldn't feel such thing before no matter how vigilant he acted. It felt so absurd to Kiruyin. But he didn't want to deny the possibility either. Who is going to make fun of him if he was a little delusional?

No one.

Kiruyin felt a massive weight come of from his chest. He breathed a sigh of relief.

'Yeah. No ones gonna know what I think. So it's fine for me to be delusional.'

He thought with a smile as he leaned back on the toilet. He closed his eyes. Felt his heart that was slowly racing faster and faster. An ambiguous feeling accompanied it.

'I wonder what my limits are?'

His curiosity was now piqued. He wanted to see the limits of his dormant potential which he had no idea about. He is going to challenge other clubs and try to win. Even if he doesn't win and loses points, it will he small price to pay to quench his curiosity.

With that, Kiruyin tucked the card back into his shirt again and walked out of the restroom while trying to maintain his haggard expression.

But on the second thought, Kiruyin changed his mind. He came back into the washroom, fixed his hair, buttoned his blazer, washed his face and transferred 80,000 points into his main account.

Now, he is a just a curious, clueless Kouhai who will ask the Senpais to teach him the game, win a few times because generally, people let's newcomer win to boost their confidence.

He will challenge the Senpais to play with him seriously and if when they doesn't agree, he will propose bet.

'Yep. This will be more convensing. Though I don't belive everything will go according to the plan. Given that my initial plan was just to rob the chess club. But now I'm curious, how far I can push my self?'

Kiruyin now planned to challenge as many indoor game clubs as possible. He only ever played chess. And has no idea about anything like Shogi and Go.

"Man~~ I'm nervous. I feel like something irreversible will happen today. I will either make a fool out of myself or rediscover myself... huff~~"

He loudly exhaled as he murmured to himself. His face excuding genuine nervousness.

'I'm afraid to disillusion myself... huh.'

Kiruyin suddenly realised why he was feeling nervous. He liked the idea of him being some kind of hidden monstrous genius. Shock everyone with his intelligence, maybe impress a girl and later get married?

"No. I need this. This delusion will bite me later on. Today will be a valuable lesson."

He murmured to himself as he stared into his own eyes in the reflection. He straightened up and walked out of the restroom. Few Senpais passed by and went into the restroom chatting.

'Looks like the chess club senpais didn't say anything to anyone. I would be surprised if they did though. It will be a total pumpture of their prestige.'

Kiruyin reason internally as he walked towards the Go club. Feeling excited, nervous and slight fear of breaking the illusion of genius cringed to his heart. Making his head feel light. Steps heavy. But Kiruyin wasn't going to back down. He needed to fix his mentality before it morphed into something he cannot control.

And fast.

Kiruyin then walked outside of his dorm. He pulled out a Point Storage card he bought from the vending machine for 1000 points on the way back.

"Senpais! I'm here to make bet with you guy! If you don't mind, we can bet points and settle through a chess match! Winner takes it all!"

A senpai rough exterior and musculer body walked up to Kiruyin.
