Later. Peter, Jessica, and Octopus arrived in New York. On the way, they discussed their plan, but it was difficult to think through the details of saving the entire Multiverse on the fly. Octopus suggested they stop at his place and rest. An hour later, the team flew up to a tall building. The three of them entered the penthouse on the top floor through the balcony.
"Damn, this place is expensive.
"Yes, this is my home," said Octopus, removing his mask.
Peter and Jess finally discovered who was hiding behind the mysterious green man with tentacles. It was none other than the wealthy inventor Jason Octavius, son of Otto, Doctor Octopus.
"Damn it. Take it. I knew it all along. I see you Octavius's have a love for octopuses in your blood.
"No. I just like hitting people with tentacles.
"Well, you're definitely an octopus. Heh.
Octavius suggested a few improvements to the hero's costumes. First, he and Peter built a device for travelling between universes. Second, Jason provided a couple of modifications for more agile and stealthy movement. And finally, he updated the system built into the mask.
And suddenly, a vision flashed before the heroes' eyes... They saw a mysterious bunker where an unknown girl was locked up... Was it a signal for... help?
Parker and Octavius rushed off. It took them only five minutes to get there. And now they were standing near an abandoned building, in the basement of which was the bunker from the vision. Peter entered the password on the control panel. Octavius was wary, but did not stop him. The steel door of the bunker slowly opened. The heroes waited.
"Hey, Os.
"What?
"What are we waiting for?
"I don't know.
"Os?
"What?!
"Watch out!
Someone jumped out of the darkness onto Octopus and knocked him to the ground. The unknown assailant began beating Jason. Peter, unable to see who had attacked, kicked out and sent the assailant flying to the side. The heroes heard a woman's scream after the hard landing.
"Ouch!
Parker and Octavius exchanged glances.
"Who are you?!" asked the girl, getting to her feet.
She stepped out of the shadows. The girl looked to be about twenty or twenty-five years old, with long, silky black hair and covered in cobwebs. Unexpected.
"Who are you?" asked Octavius.
"Si... Silk. My name is Silk. Have you already killed Morlan?" she asked.
"Yes," Jason replied uncertainly.
"Really? Hurray! Thank you, um... Spider and... Who are you?"
"Octopus..." Octavius said again, uncertainly.
"Cool. Spider and Octopus. By the way, I'm a big fan of yours, Spider.
"Wait a second. Silk, how did you get here? Who locked you in this bunker? And how do you know about Morlan?
"Well, when I got my powers as a child, I was told that Morlan was a bad vampire who would come for me, that he wanted to kill me and...
However, Silk didn't finish her sentence, and at that moment, some acrobat in a jacket flew into Parker and Octopus.
"What's going on here?! Silk, why did you leave the bunker? What did I tell you about that?
"Izekiel, I'm sorry, but they said Morlan was dead, and I thought...
"Dead? Are you completely insane? Morlan can't be killed, I told you that a thousand times before I sent you to the bunker!
"So he locked her in here, you bastard?" Jason asked.
"Who the hell are you, you idiot?
They were about to jump at each other, but Parker intervened in the verbal conflict, standing between Octavius and the mysterious Ezekiel.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, guys! Ezekiel, is that you? You helped me once. What happened to you?
"Spider-Man. I... I saw you and your 'girlfriend' fight off Morlan's attack at the cost of Scarlet Spider's life. Have you talked to the Weaver yet?
"Yes, he...
"Can you tell me what's going on?" asked Silk. "I actually want to know how we can stop Morlan too.
"Silk, dear... I couldn't save you. Morlan is alive. And he will definitely return. And these two apparently don't want to try to save anyone from the hands of these vampires...
"Izekiel, if you know about Morlan and his company, then you must know how to stop them.
"They can't be stopped, Spider. They'll come back even if we destroy Earth-001.
"Can you stop talking in riddles and tell me everything?!" Silk shouted, unable to bear it any longer.
"Get out of here. Look what you've done..." said Ezekiel, pushing the heroes away.
"Silk?" Jason asked quietly.
"Yes?" she replied.
"I won't let Morlan kill you. I promise.
"What did you say?!
Izekiel lunged at Octavius, but Silk knocked the man in the suit out with a swift kick.
"I hope you have a place where we can be safe. And tell me everything I missed in the last ten years.
"Ten?!" Octavius almost shouted. "You've been here for ten years?
"Yes... And I was bitten by the same spider that bit you, Peter.
"I don't understand. What Peter? What are you talking about?" Parker tried to avoid revealing his identity.
"You," said Silk.
"Let's go. You have a lot to learn.
Leaving Ezekiel to "rest" near the bunker, the trio returned to Octopus's penthouse.
A couple of hours later. Peter went on his afternoon patrol, leaving Jason with the most important task — to brief the newcomer.
"Well, let's start with what you already know," Octavius said unusually kindly.
"Well, ten years ago, my parents found out about my spider abilities. They found Izekiel, and he volunteered to help me. He told them about Morlan, and my parents decided to lock me in the bunker 'for my own safety'. For the next ten years, I watched Pokémon and listened to Daily Bugle radio.
"Pokémon? What's that?
"Anime.
"Hmm.
Jason briefly told Silk what she had missed in the last ten years, about the heroes, the Multiverse, and the current situation in the Heirs.
"So Peter and you aren't the only Spiders?
"Technically, I'm not a Spider.
"Right, and you're all going to fight the Heirs to save everyone.
"Right.
"Yeah...Silk finally learned everything that Ezekiel had been hiding from her for ten long years... She wanted to be a hero, to help her idols save the universe, but something kept her from feeling confident... Silk didn't feel equal to the others, even though she had spider powers. Octavius broke the silence.
"Well, now that you know everything, maybe we can get to know each other?" Jason asked.
"Sure.
"My name is Jason. Jason Octavius.
"Cindy Moon.
"Nice to meet you, Miss Moon.
"Me too, Jason.
They looked at each other and smiled, but something wasn't right... Jason suddenly felt hot. Cindy moved closer to him and slowly removed Octavius's mask.
"What are you doing?
Moon kissed him.
"Stop!" Octavius stopped her. "W-wait, this is wrong.
"Jason. You're the first person I've ever kissed. I don't think it's right that I'm doing this for the first time.
"I can't do this, Cindy. This is...
But she didn't listen to him and continued to kiss him passionately on the lips. Moon began to remove the top part of his costume and tore off her spider web. Jason couldn't resist...
Meanwhile, Peter Parker returned to the penthouse because he had forgotten his wallet. He wanted to quickly grab it and go buy a couple of hot dogs or pizza, but he was drawn to the moans coming from the living room. Parker hid behind the wall, watching the action... However, he was spotted by Octavius and Moon, who were engrossed in the process. Cindy quickly hid behind the sofa, wrapped herself in the web that protruded from her fingertips, and jumped out of the window, flying away into the distance.
"Unbelievable," Peter muttered.
"What the hell are you doing here?
"I forgot my wallet. And why the hell did you leave so quickly?
"Let's forget everything that happened today. And not a word to anyone.
"Agreed, hero lover.
Octavius threw a cushion from the sofa at Parker, who grabbed his wallet with his spider web and ran out of the penthouse without breakfast.
